Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Why are there so many songs about rainbows and what’s on the other side?  What a great line about rainbow songs from “The Rainbow Connection”.   The theme this week for the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Saturday Blog Hop is Somewhere Over the Rainbow or cards featuring rainbows or rainbow of colors!  I decided to go with with the rainbow of colors!

This is a pretty easy card!  Here’s the details…

  • Delightful Daffodil – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 1/4 x 4 1/2, ink the stripes stamp from using Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Cucumber Crush and Pacific Points markers.  Then need to ink two more lines using Elegant Eggplant to finish off the ‘rainbow’
  • Layer onto Basic Black – 3 3/8 x 4 5/8, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Silver Glimmer – 1/8 x 3 1/4, add to card front
  • Basic Black – cut our ‘for you’ (mini treat bag thinlits), add to card front using dimensionals
  • Add some basic rhinestones to finish off

Totally Trees

CCMC421I’m having so much fun with all my ‘new stuff’ from the new Holiday Mini.  One of the sets in the mini has a bunch of fun trees and you know how I feel about trees!

This week we have a fun a sketch challenge on Create with Connie and Mary.  I really wanted to use something from the new Holiday Mini for today sketch and decided these trees would be fun to work with.  So this is what I came up with!

Here’s the details…

  • Delightful Dijon – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – stamp long trunk in Crumb Cake, stamp ‘triangle’ in So Saffron, leaves in Delightful Dijon, so small leaf cluster in Garden Green; do this again with the shorter tree turn then the matching solid in So Saffron and so on; cut out using Oval Layering Framelits
  • So Saffron – 3 5/8 x 4 7/8, layer on Garden Green 3 3/4 x 4
  • Add tree to panel using dimensionals; stamp leaf cluster using Delightful Dijon an greeting using Soft Suede
  • Add panel to card front using dimensionals
  • Garden Green – 1/4 x 3, add to card front
  • Add some Garden Green enamel dots to finish off

Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head

Well it’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Saturday Hop and another  song theme.  This week it is “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head”. Well with a GREAT song like that what could be better than using the new Weather Together and Umbrella Weather framelits!

Okay this was one of those that I was just ‘tickled pink’ with the way it turned out!  Here’s the details…

  • Flirty Flamingo – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Raindrop Pool Party print (A Little Foxy dsp) – 3 5/8 x 4 7/8, stamp greeting using Basic Grey Archival
  • Whisper White – cut out the small and large clouds and add to print, trim off parts that hang over.
  • Whisper White – 3 4/4 x 5, add print panel then add to card front using dimensionals
  • Flirty Flamingo – cut out 6 umbrella pieces, fold 5 in half, layer together then add to 6th one.
  • Cut umbrella handle out of Basic Grey and the bottom of the handle from Flirty Flaming; add to handle then add completed umbrella to card front.

Tour de Freaks Aug 16

One of the first sets to catch my eye in the new Holiday Mini was Totally Trees.  I LOVE ANYTHING with TREES so this was a no brainer for me!  I’ve just started playing with this set and I just love how colorful you can make these.

Now isn’t this just happy?  I LOVE these colors together!  Here’s the details…

  • Pool Party – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 4 x 5 1/4, stamp the solid image in Sweet Sugarplum, Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz and the ‘tree’ in Basic Grey Archival; add to card front
  • Sweet Sugarplum Envelope dsp print 4 1/4 x 1 1/8, layer piece of Pear Pizzazz – 1/2 x 4 1/4 behind it then add to card front
  • Silver Glimmer – 1/4 x 3 5/8, cut end on angle and add to card front
  • Pear Pizzazz – 1/2 x 2 3/4, stamp greeting using Versamark and Silver Emboss, cut into banner and add to card front
  • Add some Fancy Frosted Sequins to finish off

This is a super quick and easy treat box using the Popcorn Box framelit.  Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – cut out two of the Popcorn Box framelit.
  • On one side stamp solid image using Pear Pizzazz, Sweet Sugarplum and Pool Party and tree using Basic Grey Archival; stamp ‘ground’ using Pear Pizzazz
  • Put box together, pinch in sides
  • Pear Pizzazz – 1/2 x 1 5/8, stamp greeting using Basic Grey Archival, cut into banner, layer piece of Sweet Sugarplum Glitter Ribbon behind it and piece of Pool Party/White Diagonal stripe (A Little Foxy) 1/2 x 2 5/8, add to top of box using a Gold Binder Clip
  • Add some Fancy Frost Sequins to trees to finish off.

Thoughtful Branches

CCMC420WOO HOO…I FINALLY have my Thought Branches set! LOVE!!!  Absolutely LOVE this set and matching thinlits.  I could wait to use them so decided to find a why to make it work with this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This week we have a fun color challenge – Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Smoky Slate.

The colors for this challenge work perfectly with the “A Little Foxy” dsp so I used that as my inspiration!

Here’s the details…

  • Calypso Coral – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • A Little Foxy dsp (Calypso Coral Bold Stripe) – 3 7/8 x 5 1/2, add to card front
  • A Little Foxy dsp (Smoky Slate/white leaf/stem print) – 2 1/2 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Pool Party – 2 pieces – one 3/8 x 4 1/4 and one 1/4 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Whisper White – 2 1/2 x 4 1/4, stamp ‘ground’ using Pool Party and Greeting using Calypso Coral, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Smoky Slate – cut out tree, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Stamp one bird in Pool Party and the other in Calypso Coral, cut our and add to tree.

Thoughtful Branches

ThoughtfulBranchesWell tomorrow is the ‘official’ back to school for me.  Thursday and Friday is ‘report for all day meetings’ then Monday is students.  DANG…I could use another month off!

But I had a little time for stamping and oh…I do LOVE this new set and matching thinlits.  It is just SOOOO awesome.  I just love anything having to do with trees and this particular framelit is perfect!

This is also for the casology challenge this week for dream…I’m dreaming of a white Christmas!

I decided I wanted to go with a very simple look and to me nothings is as classy for Christmas as white, silver and red.

Here’s the details…

  • Real Red – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 5 1/2, stamp ‘ground’ using Versamark and silver emboss, stamp greeting using Real Red
  • Silver/White diagonal stripe print (Neutrals dsp Paper Pack) – 5/8 x 5 1/2, add behind white panel and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Silver Glimmer – 1/8 x 5 1/2, add to edge of Whisper White
  • Whisper White – cut our tree and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Stamp bird using Real Red, cut out and add to tree
  • Add Basic Rhinestones to tree and ground to finish off

How cool is this!  I’m almost ready for Christmas now!  LOL!!!

Cookie Cutter Christmas

SUO155WOW…can you believe it…it’s Tuesday and time for another SUO Challenge!  Our theme this time is Cute and Cuddly!  Well…I didn’t get the kitty or the puppy stamp set and although I got the fish set…hmmm…I don’t think of a fish as ‘cuddly’!

Well then my Holiday Mini pre-order came in and I got the Cookie Cutter Christmas set and in it is a teddy bear.  YAY!!!!  I got cute AND cuddly!  And I have to say…sooo happy with the way this turned out!

Here’s the details…

  • Calypso Coral – 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Calypso Coral – 3 7/8 x 3 /8, add to card front using dimensionals
  • A Little Foxy dsp print – 3 1/2 x 3 1/2, add to card front
  • A Little Foxy multi-colored dot print – 2 3/8 x 2 7/8, layer onto Calypso Coral 2 1/2 x 3, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Stamp ‘bear’ using Smoky Slate and punch out, stamp ears using Smoky Slate, cut out and add behind bear, stamp face using Momento Black, add bear using dimensioals
  • Stamp bow and buttons using Calypso Coral, punch out and add
  • Stamp greeting (from Badges and Banners) using Basic Grey Archival on Pool Party, punch out and add using dimensionals
