Halloween Treat

Happy Saturday!  It’s that time again for another Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Saturday Blog Hop!  This week, with Halloween right around the corner, the design team is doing Halloween Treats!

On Tuesday I made a fun little card using the Sweet Home set.  When I sat down to make my little treat box for today…I was thinking about that fun card and decided to use it as my inspiration for today.  I was pretty tired when I sat down to make this last night so I kept things pretty simple.

I started with a pizza box, the Spooky Nights Halloween dsp and my card from Tuesday and this is what I came up with!

Here’s the details…

  • Put together a pizza box
  • Spooky Nights dsp – 7/8 x 12 and 7/8 x 3 1/2, wrap around box putting the 3 1/2 piece on the back.
  • Spooky Nights dsp – 3 1/4 x 3 1/4
  • Spooky Nights dsp – two pieces 3/8 x 3 1/2, add to other Spooky Nights piece on an angle, layer panel onto Basic Black 3 3/8 x 3 3/8 and add to box top
  • Whisper White – 2 1/2 x 2 1/2, stamp solid larger dot in Pumpkin Pie and Peek-a-b00 Peach, line of three dots in Smoky Slate, and Trick or Treat in Memento Black, layer onto Basic Black 2 3/8 x 2 3/8, add to card front
  • Whisper White – stamp two ghosts and bats using Memento Black, cut our and add to box top adding ghosts using dimensionals
  • Add Black Rhinestones
  • Cut out a top part of a cat front the dsp and add to bottom of panel
  • Wrap Black Baker’s Twine around box to finish off.
Set(s): Sweet Home
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Spooky Nights dsp
Ink: Memento Black, Pumpkin Pie, Peek-a-boo Peach, Smoky Slate
Other: Black Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Here’s the details…

  • Spooky Night dsp dotted print – 1/2 x 4 1/2 – add on a diagonal and trim ends
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 stamp dot in Pumpkin Pie and Peek-a-boo Peach, stamp row of three dots in Memento Black, layer onto Basic Black – 3 5/8 x 4 7/8, add to card front
  • Stamp ghost 2 times and bat 3 times in Memento Black, cut out and add (ghosts using dimensionals)
  • Crumb Cake – stamp banner and greeting in Memento Black, cut out and add using dimensionals

This was one of those cards that started as one thing (a simple CAS card with a spider made from a pumpkin) and ended up with this…which I just LOVE!  You just never know where that creative process is going to take you!  LOL!!!

Teeny Tiny Wishes

Happy Tuesday!  Can you believe it’s the last Tuesday in September!  WOW…October starts on Sunday!

This week the theme for the SUO challenge is Shape Up!  Favorite Punch or Die.  Well…there are just WAAAAY too many from which to choose.  So, since I just cleaned my stamping area, I went with my method of “use what it on top of my desk”.  Well I happened to have 4 punched out cats and a strip of Silver Glimmer.  What can I say…it basically made itself.

Here’s the details…

  • Pumpkin Pie – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Very Vanilla – 3 5/8 x 4 7/8, stamp greeting using Memento Black, layer onto Basic Black 3 3/4 x 5, add to card front
  • Silver Glimmer – 1/4 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Crushed Curry – punch out 2″ circle, add to card front
  • Punch cat – 2 from Spooky Night dsp, 1 from Basic Black, 1 from Pumpkin Pie, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Add some Black Rhinestones to finish off

See how super easy that was!  I LOVE easy!

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see their wonderful creations!

Wow…it’s Thursday again!  The weekend will soon be here…YAY!!!  School is kicking my butt and it’s only week 1!  LOL!!!  But that’s okay…we have a FUN inspiration sketch for you!

My friends Jo and Jackie were over for a visit and Jo brought her Spooky Cats set and matching punch.  I knew I wanted to do something with this and OH MY…Connie and I were REALLY on the same page!  That happens to us sometimes and we don’t know it until we load our cards for the week.

Here’s the details…

  • Basic Black – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 2 3/4 x 5 1/8, using the diagonal slashes stamp, stamp in Tangerine Tango and Memento Black to create the ‘dsp’; add to card front

Happy Halloween

halloweenWOW…October 31st!  Happy Halloween everyone!  I wanted to take one more opportunity to share a fun Halloween card.  These were some ‘odds and ends’ that I had (you guessed it) sitting on top of my desk.

These little pumpkins are just the cutest and I just had to use them.  I love the Halloween Night Baker’s Twine and doing 4 layers at once really is a great way to use it (and fill up that big open area at the top of the panel – LOL!)

Here’s the details…

  • Pumpkin Pie – 4 1/ x 11 folded
  • Silver/Black spider web dsp – 1 1/2 x 5 1/2, add to card front
  • Pumpkin Glimmer – 1/4 x 5 1/2, add to silver/black piece
  • Whisper White – 3 x 4 1/2, stamp greeting using Momento Black
  • Layer 4 strands of the Halloween Nights Baker’s Twine (2 of pumpkin/black and 2 of grey/black), wrap around panel and tie ito a bow.  Add panel to card front using dimensionals
  • Stamp two pumpkins, faces, and stems/leaves using Momento Black, color with Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi, Soft Suede markers, cut out; add one directly onto panel and one using dimensionals

So…HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
