Epic Celebrations

Are you all enjoying Sale-a-bration?  I am!  I am really LOVIN’ the products that are available.

The theme this time for the SUO challenge is to make a monochromatic card.  At first I was going to use the set Heartfelt Blooms because it really is PERFECT for a monochromatic card but then thought…”oh that’s too easy” so I decided to use the SAB set Epic Celebrations.  What fun set and LOVE how it turned out in Flirty Flamingo!

Here’s the details…

  • Flirty Flamingo – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 5/8 x 4 5/8, fold a piece of Flirty Flamingo Striped ribbon and add to back then add to card front on an angle using dimensionals
  • Flirty Flamingo – 3 1/2 x 4 1/2, stamp shoes in Flirty Flamingo, tap with embossing buddy, then stamp shoes using Versamark and white emboss.  Next color in some parts of the shoes using Flirty Flamingo marker
  • Whisper White – 3/4 x 2 1/2, stamp greeting using Flirty Flamingo, cut into a banner and add to card front using dimensionals.

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see their wonderful creations!

Set(s): Epic Celebrations
Paper: Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo
Ink: Flirty Flamingo, Versamark

Perfect Peacock

Welcome to Thursday and what a fun sketch inspiration we have for you this week!

When I sat down to work on it I had the ‘stuff’ for the peacock cut out and sitting on top of my desk and I decided I could easily make it work for it.  I love when I can just use ‘experiments’ and finish up a card I need!

Here’s the details…

  • Bermuda Bay- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Bermuda Bay – 4 x 5 1/4, run through Scattered Sequin Embossing Folder and add to card front
  • Lemon Lime Twist – 1 1/2 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Eastern Palace dsp – 1 1/4 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Gold Foil – 1/4 x 5, add to card front
  • Whisper White – stamp back ‘fan’ in Bermuda Bay, ‘feathers’ in Lemon Lime Twist and Night of Navy and peacock body in Pacific Point; cut everything out, and add to card front
  • Lemon Lime Twist – cut out small scallop circle from the Layered Circle Framelits
  • Whisper White – stamp greeting Versamark and gold emboss, punch out with 1″ Circle Punch, add to scallop circle and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Add some Gold Enamel Dots to finish off!

As I am typing up my post on Tuesday morning it is -10 outside.  Yes, that is a minus side there.  And that is WITHOUT adding in the wind chill factor!  EEK!  Here in a little bit I will be going out to meet a friend for breakfast…I know NUTS!  I wanted some a little fun and different for the the challenge and this is what I came up with.

  • Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer – cut out two medium snowflakes, add to card front

Color It

WI15SatHopWelcome

Welcome everyone to the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is Color It.  Can you believe it…it’s the last Saturday in February!  And yesterday in Ohio…it was 73 degrees!

Okay…before I get to my card, I need to apologize.  On a good day I’m REALLY bad at water coloring.  When I am sick I am TRULY HORRIBLE at water coloring.  Been fighting bronchitis for 4 weeks now and half the time I think I’m losing.  So…this was the best I could do and I do apologize!  TOTALLY uninspired!  But I know the rest of the team did a TERRIFIC job on theirs!
