Welcome to the April Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! It seems like FOREVER since I’ve been able to join in one. I’m sooo happy to be here!
If you are going forward through the hop, you arrive here from the very talented Patty Bennett and her Patty’s Stamping Spot blog. This month our theme is Birthdays! How fun is THAT for a theme. I have two projects to share with you…a card and a gift card holder.
The base of the card is Pink Pirouette. I took another piece of Pink Pirouette, ran it through the Strips embossing folder and added to the card. Then I used a piece of the Delicate Details Lace Tape and added to the card front. I took a piece of the soon to be retired Pretty in Pink dotted dsp, added a Whisper White panel, made banners using the large Bitty Banner framelit and Whisper White, Primrose Petal and Brushed Silber and added to the panel. I added another strip of the Brushed Silver. I stamped the crown twice (and I did the same thing for my card and my 3D item)…once in Primrose Petals and once in Versamark and silver Embossed. I cut out the piece from the silver crown and added to the Primrose Petals one. I added some Jumbo Rhinestones and Basic ones and added to the card front using dimensionals. Finally I stamped Queen for a day in versamark, silver embossed, cut into a banner and added to the card front using dimensionals.
For my 3D item I decided to make a gift card holder. This is a very simple project to make. It is a simple matchbook style. I took a piece of the Pretty in Pink dotted dsp (2 1/2 x 8 1/2) and scored at 3/4, 4 3/4 and 5. I made the ‘holder’ from the Scallop envelop die (see open picture below) using Whisper White. I ran part of the envelop through the dotted embossing folder before putting together. I left the ‘side’ open instead of the top. This is added to the inside bottom ‘flap’ using silver brads. That is the basic construction of the matchbook gift card holder…now to decorate.
To decorate mine I added a piece of the Delicate Designs Lace Tap along the side of the front. I did the crown in the same way that I did for the card (read above) and did the Queen for a Day banner exactly the same too!
How fun it would be to add a gift card to the person’s favorite spa so for their birthday they really could feel like ‘Queen for a Day’!
So that’s my projects for you! You are in for a treat now as you ‘hop’ on over to Cindy Elam’s Hearts Delight Cards blog. So thanks for stopping by but time to head on your way!
Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!
