Yippee Skippee

TSSC279Oh…fall is in the air!  When I think of fall I always think of pretty colored leaves but I also think of sunflowers.  Mary Jo has such  fun Challenge for us on the Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge this week and I REALLY wanted to use sunflowers so I made some up!

The base of the card is Wild Wasabi and I ran the front through the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder.  I took a piece of Natural Cream, stamped the greeting from Yippee Skippee using Chocolate Chip and Garden Green and layered it on a piece of Chocolate Chip the I used the Scallop Edge punch on.  This is added to the card front using dimensionals.  The flowers are made with the Blossom Party Die.  The largest flower was Wild Wasabi then cut into pieces for the leaves.  I used two ‘daisies’ in Crushed Curry for each of the sunflowers, then the circle on the die in Chooclate Chip for the center.  I layered everything and added to the card front.  I finished it off by adding some Basic Rhinestones to the center of the flowers.

TSSC279This was such a fun and easy sketch it is!  We’d love to have you play along!  Don’t forget to check out the other members of the team and remember go to the Technostamper blog to play along!

Birthday Cake

DSC00511The SUO challenge this time is Birthday…WHEW…that was soooo much easier than our Back to School on last time!  I just LOVE the new thinlits and thought how fun it would be to use it for this challenge.  I won the Label Thinlits at convention and just got this one and wanted to have some fun with it.

Now…if you didn’t see my Halloween card I made here, and saw that I did a video on how to get the paper on the panels and cut out, check the video out hereDSC00506.

The base of the card is Raspberry Ripple.  I took the fun numbers print from the Birthday Basics dsp and added to the card base before cutting with the thinlit.  I trimmed 1/4″ off the top panel, added the Crisp Cantaloupe Large Scallop (to make it back to a full  4 1/4″ size card when closed) then added a thin strip of Basic Grey on top to finish it off.

I stamped the birthday card using Bermuda Bay, Basic Grey, Raspberry Ripple, and Summer Starfruit markers on Very Vanilla, punched with the 1 3/4″ Circle punch, layered onto a Basic Grey Scallop (from the Circle Thinlits pack), added to a Bermuda Bay 2 1/2″ circle using dimensionals then added this to the swing panel on the card.  I added some rhinestones for a little birthday bling.  Next I stamped the greeting using Basic Grey on Summer Starfruit, cut with the banner thinlit that comes with the Circle pack and added to the front panel.

DSC00508For the inside ‘swing panel’, I stamped the greeting using Basic Grey and Crisp Cantaloupe on Very Vanilla, punched with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, layered on a Bermuda Bay Scallop (from the pack and added to the inside swing panel to finish it off.

Oh…these new thinlits are just so fun and easy to use!  I love how quickly you can put together a ‘card that moves’ using them.  Both of them are fun with just some different accessories in each pack.  You can’t have just one!

So check out what the others have done for the SUO Birthday Challenge and join the fun!

Yippee Skippee

Yippee-SkippeeHave you missed me?  Can you believe I only posted TWO things this week?  Sorry about that!  I’ve been busy working on my projects for Create with Connie and Mary Fall Collection.  Oh my…I got three done (one is the Preview that everyone will get to see) and then two others.  I have to say I LOVE ’em!  Click here to learn more about Create with Connie and Mary Fall Collection.

Okay…so I NEEDED to make something to post on my blog and I was looking at some of my very favorite inspiration sites.  What did I find?  Well I found this WONDERFUL color challenge on colourq and then found the inspiration to use buttons from CAS-ual Friday challenge.  So…you put these two together and this is what I came up with!

cqc201The base of the card is Whisper White.  I took another piece of Whisper White and stamped the greeting using Night of Navy and Calypso Coral.  Next I cut strips of cardstock in Calypso Coral, Soft Sky, an Basic Grey, round just the end of each, attached a coordinating button using White Baker’s Twine and added to the panel.  To finish it off I added the panel to the card base using dimensionals.

I was going to add some more ‘stuff’ to this like some rhinestones but talked myself out of this.  I think like this it could be used to different age groups!
