It’s Thursday and you know what that means…time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  Occasionally it is feeling like spring around here and we have a such a cool spring color challenge for you…

 

I’m still trying use some of my stuff from the regular catalog and give it a little more love…pulled out some of my favorites for this.

 

Isn’t that a GORGEOUS butterfly?  I used my Calypso Coral blends (light and dark) and Pumpkin Pie (light…looks like Peek-a-boo Peach to me) to make it.  Here’s the details…

  • Old Olive – 4 1/4 x 11 folded, stamp greeting using Memento black
  • Sweet Soiree dsp – Old Olive/silver stripe print – 1 x 4 1/4 add to card front.
  • Whisper White – 3 x 4 1/4, run through layered leaves embossing folder
  • Calypso Coral – punch ribbon strip and add behind Whisper White panel and add to card front.
  • Calypso Coral – 1/8 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Peek-a-boo Peach – 1/8 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Whisper White – cut out large butterfly, color with Calypso Coral and Pumpkin Pie Blends add to card front
  • Basic Grey – cut out just the body of the butterfly, add to card frond.

It’s Monday…AGAIN!  And DANG…it’s NOT a holiday!  That’s okay…it’s time for another inspiration challenge from Create with Connie and Mary!

When I saw the inspiration piece for this week, I couldn’t wait to use my new set…Flying Home!  I thought this image really went along with the image.  Check out the inspiration photo and Connie’s card here.

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 3/4 x 5, run the top portion through the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder, stamp greeting using Memento Black, add panel to card front
  • Tutti Frutti dsp – 1 1/2 x 5 1/2, add to card front
  • Basic Black – 1/4 x 5 1/2, add to card front
  • Whisper White – Stamp image using Memento Black, color using Stampin’ Blends, cut out using Layering Ovals and add using dimensionals

Happy Monday everyone!  I thought I’d share another card that has my very favorite color combo…okay a slight variation but still the same overall look!

I saw this card on Pinterest (how many stories start like that!) and just fell in love with the look.  It used the Playful Background set (TOTALLY CASEd that look on this) and just had to do my own version of the card.  I changed the colors, words and used leaves instead of colors.  What a fun and happy card!

Here’s the details…

  • Soft Sky – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 3/8 x 5, stamp lines using Soft Sky, open circles using Cajun Craze and greeting using Early Espresso
  • Early Espresso – 3 1/3 x 4 3/4, add behind whit panel and add to card front
  • Peek-a-boo Peach and Tangerine Tango – cut out solid leaf, add to card front
  • Early Espresso – cut out detail leaf, add to card front
  • Tie piece of jute into a bow, add to card front

This was such a great use of the Playful Background!

When I saw the cue card for the CASology this week – TINY – I just knew I had to join the fun.

If you follow my blog, you know that I have been ‘stuck’ on a color combo and have been creating a variety of fall cards with it.

Well the colors and a little fall card was perfect for the CASology challenge!

And here is the amazing news…

I was SOOOO HONORED!

Here’s the details (don’t blink)…

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 5/8 x 3 5/8, stamp little flourish using Memento Black, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Peek-a-boo Peach, Tangerine Tango, Pool Party – cut out little leaf, layer, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Whisper White – stamp greeting using Memento Black, punch out using Classic Label Punch, add to card front
  • Add some Black Rhinestones to finish off

Black and Orange

Happy Saturday everyone!  What a fun theme we have for you this week on the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Saturday Blog Hop.  With Halloween right around the corner…we have a fun challenge – Black and Orange.  Well…I did use the Halloween paper!  LOL!!!

Here’s the details…

  • Pumpkin Pie – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Spooky Nights dsp (orange/black circle print) – 2 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Basic Black – 4 3/4 x 4 1/4, cut along bottom using the Swirly Snowflake thinlet and add to card front
  • Spooky Nights (striped) – 1/8 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Very Vanilla – cut out the two leaves/stems and squiggly thing
  • Copper Foil – cut out pumpkin
  • Very Vanilla – stamp large pumpkin in Pumpkin Pie/Black stem, medium pumpkin in Cajun Craze/Black stem, small pumpkin in Peek-a-boo Peach/Black stem, cut out with matching framelits
  • Layer all these and add to card front
  • Very Vanilla – 3/8 x 1 5/8, stamp greeting using Basic Black, cut into banner and add to card front

Happy Thursday one and today!  Today I’m traveling to north Ohio for a conference that starts tomorrow and I’m stopping off to see Connie on my way.  I haven’t seen her in FOREVER and am so looking forward to it!

But before I go, it is time for another color inspiration!  This week it is Garden Green, Lemon Lime Twist and Soft Sky.  To me those colors seemed perfect for leaves…so I just HAD to pull out my leaf punch!

Here’s the details…

  • Soft Sky – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Coffee Break dsp – 3/4 x 5 1/2 add to left side of card front
  • Whisper White – 3 5/8 x 5 1/2, stamp greeting using Early Espresso, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Garden Green, Lemon Lime Twist and Soft Sky – 1 5/8″ square, punch leaf out of center of each, add the square to the card front then add the punched out leaves using dimenionals
  • Early Espress0 – 1/8 x 5 1/8 add to left side of panel
  • Add some Silver Metallic Enamel Dots to finish off

Patterned Pumpkins

Tonight was my fun craft group night.  Several of the ladies talked about how they like getting just the thinlits and not necessarily the entire bundle so I decided for my cards, I would pretty much just use the thinlits and add a greeting.  This is one of the cards we did as I also wanted everyone to have the chance to use the fun embossing paste!

The colors don’t show up as good as they really all – the open pumpkin and accents are in Copper Foil…looks REALLY cool!

Here’s the details…

  • Crumb Cake – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Crumb Cake – 3 1/2 x 4 3/4, stamp greeting using Early Espresso then use the diamond stencil and embossing paste to add background, layer onto Night of Navy 3 5/8 x 4 7/8
  • Painted Autumn dsp – 1/2 x 3 3/8, add to card front
  • Copper Foil – cut out open pumpkin but save the extra pieces – one will be the accent on the Tangerine Tango Tall pumpkin and the stem on the small Cajun Craze pumpkin
  • Tangerine Tango – tall pumpkin – color stamp using Chocolate Chip marker, add to card front
  • Cajun Craze – small pumpkin, add copper stem over Cajun Craze one, add to card front
  • Add Copper pumpkin
  • Night of Navy, cut out the two stem/leaves, small leaf and curly-q, add to card front
  • Tie bow from the Peek-a-boo Peach Crinkled Seam Binding and add to card front to finish off.

Oh my word…where DID this month go?  I can’t believe it is the end of September already and I feel like I haven’t gotten ANYTHING done!

This time of year I just LOVE using leaves on my cards.  I LOVE all things leaves and all things tree.  They are always a favorite for me.

We have a GORGEOUS color inspiration this week – Fresh Fig, Pear Pizzazz and Calypso Coral.  LOVE it!  I also LOVE this leave from the Seasonal Layers thinlits….SOOOOO pretty!

Here’s the details…

  • Very Vanilla – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Very Vanilla – three piece – 1 1/2 x 3 3/4, run through the Softly Falling embossing folder, stamp greeting using fresh Fig.  Add layers to card front using dimensionals
  • Fresh Fig, Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral – cut out leaf from each and add to card front
  • Add some of the lightest Pear Pizzazz Glitter Enamel Dots to finish off

Happy Thursday everyone! DANG…am I ever glad it is Thursday or like I like to say Friday Eve!  LOL!!!  I am sooooo ready for the weekend!

We have an AWESOME sketch for you this week.  When I sat down to work on it, I was thinking about the YUMMY color inspiration from last week.  I was look at my card from last week, and decided to use the concept of last week and put into the sketch for this week.  What a fun card!

Here’s the details…

  • Crumb Cake – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Crumb Cake – 4 x 5 1/4,run the top part through the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder, stamp greeting using Early Espresso
  • Mini square print – 1/2 x 4 1/2, cut 2, layer on Crumb Cake Layer, trim ends, Early Espresso print – 1/4 x 4 1/2, lay on Crumb Cake later, trim ends; add panel to card front.
  • Very Vanilla – cut out largest Stitched Circle
  • Cajun Craze – cut out largest scallop circle, add Very Vanilla circle and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Cajun Craze, Tangerine Tango, Peek-a-boo Peach, Soft Sky- stamp leaf image with matching ink, punch out with Leaf punch, add to card front
  • Make small bow from 1/8″ Gold Taffeta Ribbon, add to card front

So…lots of the same from the card from last week but a new look!  LOVE IT!

Happy Tuesday everyone! Do you LOVE Fall?  I LOVE fall.  I love the weather cooling off some and I LOVE the colors of fall.  I really think of the colors of autumn/fall in different ways but one of the combos for fall I LOVE is black and orange.  It really isn’t just for Halloween!  The SUO challenge theme this time is the colors of autumn and I decided to go with the black and orange theme and the YUMMY Spooky Night dsp – it’s not just for Halloween!

Here’s the Details…

  • Very Vanilla – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Very Vanilla – 3 5/8 x 4 7/8, run through the Layered Leaves embossing folder, add to card front using dimensionals
  • 3 different prints from Spooky Night – cut each 1 x 4, layer and add to card front
  • Foil Snowflake – add to card front Very Vanilla side up using dimensionals
  • Very Vanilla – cut out stitched circles and ad to center of snowflake
  • Basic Black – cut out 3 leaf Eclectic Layers, add to card front
  • Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie – cut out solid and detailed leaf (Seasonal Layers) from each, layer and add to card front
  • Very Vanilla  – 1/2 x 3 – stamp greeting using Memento Black, cut into banner, add to card front using dimensionals

How fun is that and a perfect card for autumn!
