What’s Your Type Favor

HopWelcome

WOW…we have made it to the end of Week 2 and another week filled with FABULOUS Card Sets by our incredible design team!  And since it is Saturday the team is going to once again share a favor using the same set they used for their card set.  If you are going forward through the hop you arrived here from the Create with Connie and Mary site.  Now is a GREAT time to subscribe and get ideas for card classes to take you through the end of this catalog!

CAS319I have been having so much fun playing with the What’s Your Type set…there is just so many different things you can do with this set.

I saw that the CAS challenge is to do a masculine card and so since I had this set sitting out on my desk I thought I’d just go with this for the card today.  I’ve also been using my Candy Dots a lot recently so thought that would be a fun add on for this card.

  • Crumb Cake – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Very Vanilla – 3 1/4 x 5 1/2, stamp solid triangle using Night of Navy and Baked Brown Sugar, stamp striped diagonal triangle using Marina Mist.
  • Stamp HAPPY in Baked Brown Sugar, and birthday in Night of Navy (both from Celebrate Today set)
  • Night of Navy – 5/8 x 5 1/2 two strips and add one to each side of the Very Vanilla panel and add to card front
  • Add Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, and Night of Navy Candy Dots to finish off

What’s Your Type

SUO103It’s time for another SUO challenge and this time our theme is Geometrical Shapes.  Now I guess that could mean either the card is a geometrical shape or that you can use geometrical shapes on your card.  Hmmm….can you guess which way I took it to mean?

I’ve mentioned before how much I enjoy this new set – What’s Your type?.  It is filled with just that …geometrical shapes so you can really have fun creating unique ‘backgrounds’!

Here’s the details –

  • Real Red – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 x 5 1/2.  Stamp the large solid circle Crushed Curry, diagonal lined triangle Smoky Slate, chevron Memento Black, small solid circle Real Red.
  • Now cut this into strips.  I did 1″, 1/4″, 3/4″, 3/8″, and then the last piece is 5/8″.  Add dimensionals to the back of each strip and add to Basic Black – 3 7/8 x 5 1/2 and add to card front.
  • Silver Foil – 1/4 x 4 1/4 and add to card front
  • Crushed Curry – 1 x 3 3/4.  Stamp greeting using Memento Black and add to card front using dimensionals

How simple is this?  I love the look of the geometrical panel cut into thinner strips.

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see which one they picked!

Set(s): What’s Your Type?, Remember This
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red, Crushed Curry, Silver Foil
Ink: Memento Black, Smoky Slate, Crushed Curry, Real Red
Other: Dimensionals

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

What’s Your Type?

IC451I wanted to do a little stamping this morning so I was checking out the inspiration challenge over on SCS.  The website is called LEIF and I found this inspiration here.

As soon as I saw this vase I though about the new What’s My Type? photopolymer set and figured it would just be so easy to do the triangular background with it.  I was RIGHT!  I really wasn’t any problem at all making the background to match the vase in the inspiration piece!

Here’s the details…

  • Pistachio Pudding – 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 folded
  • Whisper white – 4 x 4, stamp the triangle on the piece in Pistachio Pudding then trim down.  My square ended up 3 7/8 x 3 7/8.  Wrap a piece of the Pistachio Pudding Twine around it then add to card front using dimensionals
  • Stamp greeting on Whisper White using Garden Green, cut into a banner and add using dimensionals.
  • Punch out 3 Crisp Cantaloupe flowers using the Itty Bitty Accessory Punch Pack add to card front.
  • Add Basic Rhinestones to finish off.
Set(s): Flower Patch, What’s Your Type
Paper: Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloup
