Swirly Bird

CCMC410Happy Thursday everyone!  It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge and we have a fun color challenge for you – Daffordil Delight, Bermuda Bay and Crumb Cake (or Kraft).

I thought these were the perfect colors for a sailing theme and the little Swirly Bird set works GREAT!  Pair that up with the ‘wave’ from the Swirly Scribbles thinlits and the care pretty much makes itself.

Here’s the details…

  • Daffodil Delight – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 3/4 x 5, run through the Stars embossing folder and add to card front.
  • Crumb Cake – 2 3/8 x 3 3/8 add to card front
  • Bermuda Bay – cut out ‘wave’ and add to card front
  • Stamp 2 boats using Crumb Cake for base, Daffodil Delight for solid sail, Bermuda Bay for striped sail, Crumb Cake for little flag at the top, cut out, add to card front (second one with dimensionals.
  • Stamp ‘sun’ using Daffodil Delight cut out, add using dimensionals
  • Stamp banner using Daffodil Delight on Whisper White, cut out, add using dimensionals

So a pretty easy card!  So head on over to Create with Connie and Mary and check out the GREAT ideas from the design team!

  • Cut out swirly/leaf image (I used shimmery white cardstock) and add to panel
  • Stamp greeting using Cajun Craze, then add to card front using dimensionals
  • Stamp leaves in Emerald Envy, cut out and add
  • Stamp flower using Cajun Craze on Cajun Craze, cut out and add to card front

Tour de Freaks May

freakwelcome2013Welcome everyone to the May Tour de Freaks Blog Hop!  We are a small but mighty group this month (many of our members are Grand Vacation Achievers and are on their way!)

If you are going forward through the hop you arrived here from Melissa Davies – Rubberfunatics.  She always has such delightful ideas!

This month our theme is Something Old and/or Something New.  Well…I just HAD to go with the Something New part of the theme.  I’m having so much fun playing with my NEW STUFF (okay that and I’ve already cleared off my desk of retiring stuff so I would have ad to dig to get to those Something Old things!)

I decided I wanted to share with you thing made with Swirly Bird/Swirly Scribble bundle (with a little Thoughtful Banners thrown in!).  First up I wanted to use the cur little bird…

Here’s the details…

  • Tempting Turquoise – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Tempting Turquoise – 5 1/2 x 4 1/4, run through the butterfly embossing folder, add to card front
  • Whisper White – 3 x 4 1/4, stamp ‘sun’ using Daffodil Delight and greeting using Basic Black Archival.  The ‘branch’ is from the long ‘wave’ thinlit cut out of Chocolate Chip, add to card front
  • Real Red – 3 1/8 x 4 3/8, layer white panel on the add to card front using dimensionals
  • Stamp both the large and small leave on Whisper White using Gumball Green, cut out (by hand or thinlit) add to ‘branch’.
  • Stamp ‘nest’ in Crumb Cake and bird in Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, and Real Red, cut out (all by hand…any option) and add to branch.

Next up is a super simple card…

Here’s the details…

  • Kraft – 4 1/4 x 11 folded

  • Kraft – 3 1/2 x 4 3/4, cut out the small swirl scribble in Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise, add to panel, add panel to card front using dimensionals
  • Stamp banner using Basic Black Archival on Whisper White, stamp greeting using Real Red, punch out using Duet Banner punch, add using dimensionals

And finally a little picture.  I got this cute little frame at Michael’s and thought it would be just right for adding little stamped creations to it!

Here’s the details…

  • Daffodil Delight – 3 x 3 5/8
  • Whisper White – 2 7/8 x 3 1/2, cut out ‘wave’ from Tempting Turquoise and add to Whisper White Panel, stamp ‘sun’ using Daffodil Delight, add to Daffodil Delight panel.
  • Boats – base/Night of Navy, small sail/ Daffodil Delight, striped sail/ Real Red, little flag/Tempting Turquoise, do two boats, cut out and add, one is added using dimenionals.
