Snow Day

Snow DayOkay…so there’s a bit of a story about this card.  On Tuesday I had a workshop and I planned on using this card as one of the make and takes.  I had all the supplies for this (and the other make and takes) packed up and ready to go.  I get home from school, did my 2 mile walk and around 5 pm sat down to cool off before getting my shower and heading to my workshop at 5:50.  I’m checking my computer and read that Endless Wishes is SOLD OUT and would NOT be RESTOCKED!!!  EEK!!!!  What am I going to go?  I have everything prepped but no one will be able to purchase the set.  So I QUICKLY got a shower and had 20 mins to come up with a new card using the supplies from the last one.  Anyway…this is what I came up with and IT WAS A HIT!!!  WHEW!!!

Here’s the details…

  • Coastal Cabana – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 1/4 x 5 1/2
  • Stamp snowman in Smoky Slate (stamp off once), eyes/mouth in Basic Black, nose in Pumpkin Pie, arms in Early Espresso, buttons in Coastal Cabana, hat/scarf in Real Red.
  • Stamp snowflakes in Coastal Cabana and greeting in Real Red.
  • Add 1/2 x 5 1/2 strips of Real Red to the top and bottom of of the Whisper White piece than add panel to card base using dimensionals.
  • Finish off the card by add some Basic Rhinestones among the snowflakes.

So…that’s how you morph one card into another!

Snow Day

TSSC286Happy Monday!  And as you know with Monday comes a NEW Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge!  Mary Jo has such a cool one for us to day!

I just think this little snowman is soooo cute!  And speaking of CUTE…the EXTREMELY talented Michelle Zindorf had used the snowman in the CUTEST way and I just stole her snowman looking up approach to the snowman and thought the look on his face was pure JOY!

So here’s the details…

  • Cherry Cobbler:  4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Stamp snowflake in Illuminate ink
  • Season of Style dsp dotted print:  4 1/4 x 4
  • Gumball Green 4 1/4 x 3/4, use Scallop Edge punch on it, add behind the dotted print then add to the card front
  • Crumb Cake tag – 2 1/4 x 4.  Run top through the one Apothecary Accents framelit, corner round the bottom, sponge in Crumb Cake,  add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Tie Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon into a bow and ad to tag using glue dot.
  • Stamp snowman in Smoky Slate (stamp off once), stamped arms in Early Espresso, stamp ‘mouth’ in Basic Black and nose in Pumpkin pie.  Cut out the snowman and add using dimensionals.
  • Stamp JOY in Cherry Cobbler, cut out, layer and add to card front using dimensionals.  Tie two bows out of Cherry Cobbler/White Baker’s Twine and add to banner using glue.

TSSC286See…isn’t this just a GREAT sketch?  I just LOVED it and LOVE it with a snowman on it!  We’d love to have you play along!  Don’t forget to check out the other members of the team and remember go to the Technostamper blog to play along!

Snow DayOH NO…say it ain’t so!  Time is RUNNING OUT to take advantage of the Early Bird Special for Create with Connie and Mary Winter Collection 2013!  Tomorrow (Saturday) is the last day to subscribe for only $24.95!

Today two more of our incredible designers have a card to share AND BLOG CANDY (we know you LOVE IT!).  So…how do you find out who?  Head over to Create with Connie and Mary and find out!

Does this look a little familiar?  Well…if you member my post on Monday, this is like my Tree/Snowman gift card holder but just the snowman.  I used the really FUN retrosketch layout from this week!  The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler.  I took another piece of Cherry Cobbler, ran it through the Northern Frost Embossing Folder and added to the card front.  Next was a print from the Season of Style dsp.  I inked the snowman with Smoky Slate, stamped off then stamped on a piece of Whisper White.  The eyes/mouth are stamped with Basic Black, nose is Pumpkin Pie, hat is Cherry Cobbler, scarf is Old Olive, arms is Early Espress.  I stamped Joy in Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White, cut out and added using dimensionals.  I added some tiny Cherry Cobbler/White Baker’s Twine bows to each side.  I added a piece of Old Olive to the bottom, a folder Old Olive banner to the top and a Basic Black Scallop Edge along the side.  I added a medium Cherry Cobbler button using the Cherry Cobbler/White baker’s twine then added this panel to the card front using dimensionals to finish it off.
