Razzleberry Splash AGAIN

Every now and then I run into a challenge that is REALLY a challenge for me and I will have to admit…this was one of them!  We try to always use whatever we used that week for our challenge an although I had some ideas…they just weren’t working for my challenge card today.  I FINALLY had this ‘brilliant’ idea (at least while I was drifting off to sleep the night before I made it I was hoping it was brilliant) and it did actually work out.

So…can you guess what I used for the bottom layer of the flower?  Well…it’s the largest framelit from the Apothecary Accents set!  Okay…because I KNOW I’m going to have questions  here’s a quick little tutorial.

Cut out 4 of the framelit pieces and from each end cut a 1 5/8″ piece.  Now it is difficult to see from the photo but I scored part way up in the center then I did 3/8″ and another 3/8″ on EACH side of that center line – do not score all the way to the top!

I added a line of tape to the front and back then folded it up to make a flower.  I made 6 petal 6for my card.  Next I used my 1/16″ hole punch and punched a hole in the bottom of each so I could string them together.

I just used some Baker’s Twine to string them together…leaving one end hanging so I could tie it together when I was done.

And this is the flower base all tied up and ready to go.

And here’s the flower all finished up!

So that’s a quick little tutorial on how I made my fun 3D flower…oh I LOVE this kit!

Razzleberry Splash 2

So this past week we all were using the SS Kits for Create with Connie and Mary New Catalog Edition when we were making our projects.  Can you guess what I picked?  LOL!!!  Yep…it’s that easy!  Anyway…I do love the colors and wanted to show another card with this.  (oh…and guess what…I’m showing two more tomorrow…these are NOT my project for Create with Connie and Mary…you have to be a subscriber to see those but just some others that I made).

Some quick notes for a quick card…the base of the card is Pink Pirouette.  I took a print from the kit, added to the base of the card then wrapped around a piece of the Night of Navy 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain ribbon.  I Layered a Whisper White piece one two print pieces from the kit (I did change up the sketch just a little).  This is added to the card front using dimensionals.  I made the flower, stem, leaves from pieces from the kit and added to the panel.  The layers of the flower are added using dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting using Night of Navy ink on Lucky Limeade, used the Bitty Banner Framelits to cut out and added to the card front using dimensionals.

And now on to my card for this week…the base of the card is Rich Razzleberry.  Next is a piece of Night of Navy cardstock.  I took a print from the SS Kit, cut into a banner, layered onto Pink Pirouette cut into a banner and added to the card front.  I took a piece of Whisper White and added the tulip pieces from the kit popping up some of the pieces.  I stamped the greeting using Night of Navy on Lucky Limeade, but with the Bitty Banners Framelits and added using dimensionals.  I added this panel using dimensionals.  Finally I cut a Night of Navy Ribbon Lace piece, added a strip of Lucky Limeade the added this to the card front to finish it off.

Oh…how cool these colors are….LOVE ‘EM!!!
