Reason for the Season

CCMC385Yep…it’s time again for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  I hope that your holiday celebrations are going great for you!

We have a fun sketch challenge for you.  I have to say…this one made me work a bit until I figured out what to do with it!

I’ve been seeing a lot of folks cutting out the images in the Home for Christmas dsp and when looking at the sketch I decided the cut little deer would just be perfect for the sketch.  And you all KNOW how I LOVE to cut things out!

Here’s the details…

  • Real Red – 4 1/4 x 11, run through the Woodland Embossing folder
  • Very Vanilla – But out using the Lots of Labels framelit – I then trimmed the sides then made a little shorter by running through the framelit again (what can I saw…I wanted something very specific!), add to card front
  • Blue/white dotted dsp – 2 1/8 x 4 1/4
  • Very Vanilla/multi-colored diagonal strip – 1/2 x 4 1/4, add behind the blue/white dotted, stamp greeting using Early Espresso then add to card front
  • Mossy Meadow – 1/8 x 4 1/4, add to dsp panel.
  • Cut out two deer, layer and add using dimesionals
  • Add Home for Christmas green Enamel Dots for finish it off.

And did you know it is time to sign up for the Create with Connie and Mary December Mini Session (but remember…some of you subscribed LAST MONTH during our special!)  Here’s a little teaser of the projects we are doing this month!  (New photos on the Coming Soon projects when Mary and I get our orders, but we KNOW you’ll love them!)

Reason for the Season

Poinsettia RedLast month I did some Christmas cards with a wonderful group of ladies.  I wanted to do easy Christmas cards.

This was not a ‘must have’ set for me when the Holiday Mini first came out but I have to say…this is really becoming a ‘go to’ set.  It is really a great set for both simple and more detailed cards.

One of the nice things about this card is that you could easily change up the colors and get a totally different look.

Here’s the details…

  • Cherry Cobbler – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Cherry Cobbler – 3 5/8 x 4 7/8, run through the Elegant Dots Embossing folder and add to Whisper White 3 3/4 x 5 and add to card front.
  • Whisper White – 1 1/2 x 3 1/2, cut into a banner, stamp greeting using Versamark and Silver Embossing, add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Silver Glimmer – 1/4 x 3 5/8, cut on an angle and add to banner.
  • Stamp poinsettia on Whisper White using Versamark, silver emboss and cut out.  Add using dimensionals.
  • Add Home for Christmas red enamel dot to finish off.
