Perfectly Preserved

I am part of the ‘Creative Crew” for Stampin’ Up! demos over on Splitcoaststampers.  Every month we have a series of challenges and this month it was fall and sewing.  This is one of the projects I made for it and it is perfect to talk about Fall on Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Edition too!

The base of the card is Lucky Limeade.  I took a piece of Natural Cream and added a piece of the Cajun Craze dsp on the bottom.  Next I made the label by altering one of the window label cut out pieces, piecing around the inside and adding the panel.  I took a strip of fabric and used it as my ‘ribbon’ by tying it around the panel then adding this to the card base using dimensionals.  I stamped the jar using Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and used the Cannery Framelits to cut it out.  I made the lid by add some fabric to cardstock then using the framelit on that.  I added a piece of Early Espresso 1/8″ Taffeta ribbon than added the lid using dimensionals.  I did the pair in Lucky Limeade, More Mustard and Early Espresso, cut out with the framelits then added inside the jar.  The greeting was stamped using Pacific Point.

I’m going to ‘mix things up’ a bit and start by showing you my card!  Well…technically this is the SECOND card I made for today but after I finished the first one, I just was NOT happy with it.  Have you ever had that happen to you?  Well, after looking at that first one for awhile and deciding I didn’t like it, I made this one!

The base of the card is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 More Mustard and I ran it through the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  I used my Scallop Square Duo die and did the largest one in Raspberry Ripple, layered a piece of the apple print from the Orchard Harvest dsp pack in the center then added this to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the jar using Early Espresso, the lid using Cajun Craze, the flower using More Mustard, the applie in Raspberry Ripple and More Mustard and the leaves using Early Espresso and Lucky Limeade.  These were all cut out using the Cannery Set Framelits  The greeting is stamped in Early Espresso on Lucky Limeade then cut out using the Bitty Banner Framelit.  The jar is added to the card front using dimensionals.  I wrapped a small piece of Early Espresso 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon around the lid then added to the jar.  The flower was added using dimensionals and a Rhinestone added to the center.  The apples were added inside the jar then the greeting added using dimensionals to finish it off.

I love black and red paired up with a neutral…in this case the Sahara Sand.  As I was looking at the colors I wanted to do something just a little different with it and that is where I started looking through my Holiday Mini and thought….hmmm…those would be some good colors for an apple!  No really… I did think that!  So let’s take a look at all the fun stuff I used on this…

The base of the card is Real Red 4 1/4 x 4 1/4.  I took a piece of Whisper White, ran it through the Stripes Embossing Folder, layered onto Basic Black.  I ran a piece of Sahara Sand through the Finishing Touches Lace Edgelit, added a piece of Basic Black behind it and added to the panel,  wrapped a piece of Real Red 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain around it, then added this to the panel.  The panel is added to the card front using dimensionals.  I used the Window Framelits on a piece of Whisper White, then used the Festive Paper Piercing pack to pierce around the inside.  This is added to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the apple using Real Red and Basic Black, used the Cannery Set to cut out, then did the stem in Sahara Sand and used the Cannery Framelits to cut that out to.  I added those to the card front using dimensionals.  Finally I stamped the greeting using Basic Black and Real Red on Sahara Sand, cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelit and added this to the card front.
