Loved Ones

I just loved the soft colors of the Twitterpated dsp and used that as my inspiration.  The base of the card is Natural White.  I used the Edgelits to create that cool edge and the embossed it with the matching adorning accents embossing folder.  I took a piece of Blushing Bride and ran the bottom part through the Houndstooth Embossing Folder and then layered this behind the front layer.  I stamped Happy Birthday from Loved Ones using Baja Breeze.  Next I took the Blushing Bride and Baja Breeze prints from the Twitterpated pack, cut into strips, rounded the corners and added to the card front.  I tied a piece of Baja Breeze seam binding around the card.  To finish it off I good some of the crochet flowers (main catalog) and added the Twitterpated buttons using Whisper White Baker’s Twine.  I added the flower/buttons to the card front using glue dots.

Hybrid Card

Sorry I haven’t been posting that much lately.  Just finished off my winter quarter (this week is spring break) and I had 3 workshops this past week too!  BUSY…REALLY BUSY!!!  But it is over so I’m going to do a little STAMPIN’!

This is for the CAS challenge on SCS.  This week is an inspiration challenge.  You’ll have to check out the CAS challenge thread to see the inspiration piece.  But it did have fun ‘spring’ colors and CUPCAKES!  Now as I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do, I knew I wanted a fun little cupcake image but I didn’t have anything that was the size I wanted so I decided to do a ‘hybrid’ card using My Digital Studio!  I found this adorable cupcake image in Calendar kit and could resize to work with my design.  I had never tried do a ‘stamp’ in two different colors so I had to learn that before I could work my design up and it worked!  The bases of the cupcakes are in Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, and Wisteria Wonder and the ‘icing’ is Chocolate Chip.  Once I had my cupcakes done I exported to .jpg, opened in publisher and printed out.  Then I could punch them out with my 1″ Circle punch to use in my design.  The base of card is Whisper White.  I took another piece of Whisper White and stamped the greeting using Chocolate Chip and added this to the card front using dimensionals.  I punched a piece of Pretty in Pink with the Scallop Edge punch and added to the card front and added a strip of Chocolate Chip as an accent.  I added the cupcakes to the card front using dimensionals and added some rhinestones to finish it off!

Set(s): Loved Ones, Calendar Kit (MDS)
Paper: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Chocolate Chip

Sweet Shop

Oh…I do love the sweet shop dsp…it really is just so fun and I love the interesting color combo.  I did a card similar to this one at my workshop on Sunday and changed it up a bit for Mary Jo’s sketch today!

What another fun sketch that Mary Jo has for us this week!  She does such nice ones for use.  This one is pretty simple and I unfortunately I didn’t have much time to work on it…my stamping area is sort of all torn up right now…LOOOOOONG story just don’t want to get into it right now!  But I did have time to put this together…sorry it isn’t that exciting but I do love the colors and it is fun!

The base of the card is Pool Party.  I took a piece of the heart/Calypso Coral dsp and added to the card front.  I took a piece of the cupcake dsp, added a strip of the Soft Suede to the top and then a scallop edge to the bottom and added to the card front.  I saw somewhere where I person took and embossed the oval inside the designer frame and LOVED the look so I did that on a piece of Whisper White and added it to the card front using dimensionals.  I punched out the cupcake and added that using dimensionals and finally stamped the greeting onto a piece of Calypso Coral using Soft Suede, cut into a banner and added that to the card front to finish it off.

Happy Birthday

Today is the Featured Stamper on SCS and it’s one of my favorite stampers HSKelly.  I LOVE her CAS style and couldn’t resist doing

When you do the featured stampers challenge you need to change at least 2 things and I kept the over look but did change things up.  The base of the card is Whisper White and I ran it through the Polka Dotted Embossing Folder.  I took another piece of Whisper White and stamped the greeting using Daffodil Delight and added to the card front using dimensionals.  Next I took a piece of Basic Black and added a Scallop Trim Daffodil Delight piece along the top and added to the card front.  I did the daisy from the Blossom Party die from Polka Dotted, Striped and Plain Daffodil Delight.  I added these to the Basic Black strip and added a Basic Black flower from the Itty Bitty Punches and then added a rhinestone in the middle of each to finish it off.

Set(s): Loved Ones
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Brights dsp paper pack

Birthday Blossoms

Aren’t these colors just FABULOUS?  What I like about them is that they really are ‘bright’ colors but look very ‘earthy’.  After my first idea ended up as something else (check back on Tuesday…I’ll be posting it then) I started playing around with the buttons in the colors (okay…the green is actually Old Olive and not Lucky Limeade…but close enough).  Then thought how cute the buttons would look as the centers of flowers.  Then I started messing around with the size of the buttons.

Then I decided this fun little ‘daisy’ flower from the Blossom Party Die in Whisper White was the perfect size for the medium buttons.  Of course buttons can’t be ‘naked’ so I added them using the Whisper White Baker’s Twine.  So I made up my four little flowers, took a piece of 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 Crumb Cake folded in half for the card base, stamped the greeting from Loved Ones in Early Espresso, then added the button flowers using dimensionals.

There really isn’t anything to say about this because it really is so simple!

Set(s): Loved Ones
Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Brights Buttons, Neutral Buttons, Blossom Party Die, Whisper White Baker’s Twine, Dimensionals
