Kinda Eclectic

I like a couple things…I like bright happy rainbow colors and I like stamping images in colors that are not always the ‘natural’ color for that image.

Take leaves for example…I don’t always feel like I have to keep leaves in the greens or even pretty fall colors.  I think leaves can be any color in the rainbow and I decided to do that with the really cool leaf image in the Kinda Eclectic set.  One of the best things about this card is just how quick and easy it is!

Here’s the details…

  • Peek-a-boo Peach – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Shimmery White – 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 (okay used this because didn’t notice that it was the Shimmery White…you can use regular Whisper White), stamp leaf image in Flirty Flamingo, Peek-a-boo Peach, So Saffron, Cucumber Crush, Pool Party, greeting in Memento Black and little dots (from Cool Treats set) in Smoky Slate
  • Tide piece of Flirty Flamingo around top, add panel to card front

Yep…that about covers it, quick, bright, and happy!

Set(s): Kinda Eclectic, Tin of Cards, Cool Treats
Paper: Shimmery White, Peek-a-boo Peach
Ink: Memento Black, Smoky Slate, Flirty Flamingo, Peek-a-boo Peach, So Saffron, Cucumber Crush, Pool Party
Other: Flirty Flamingo Ruched Ribbon

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

SP15SatHopWelcome

Welcome everyone to the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Saturday Blog Hop!  This month the design team is going to be saying good-bye to the incolors that will be retiring with this catalog.  Each week we will feature a different color.  The third color up…Mossy Meadow.

SatHopMossy

I have to say this ended up being one of those cards I was just tickled with when it was done.  I’ve been trying to do ‘monochromatic’ themes (although that is not part of the challenge) for the farewell to incolor cards and this one just so is me!

Here’s the details…

  • Very Vanilla – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Very Vanilla – TWO strips 1 x 5 1/2, run through the Softly Falling embossing solder and add to each side of card front
  • Very Vanilla – 3 1/2 x 5 1/2, stamp greeting using Versamark and gold emboss, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Mossy Meadow print (Botanical Garden dsp – 4 x 1/2, add to card front
  • Gold Glimmer – 1/8 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Stamp leaf image 3 times using Mossy Meadow on Very Vanilla, cut out and add to card front
  • Add Basic Gold Metal Button using Glue Dots

CCMC346Oh…it’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  This week we have a great color challenge for you:  Wild Wasabi, Sahara Sand, Basic Black.

I really like this set but it was one of those that got ‘pushed aside’ when I got new stuff!  When I was trying to figure out a good set to use with these colors, I saw the leaves and decided it would be perfect!  And I have to say…I do like the way it turned out!

Here’s the details:

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 folded
  • Something Borrowed dsp – 1 3/4 x 5 1/2, Punch 5 section Scallop Edge out of Basic Black, add behind and add to card front
  • Whisper White – 3 x 4 1/4 – stamp ‘sun’ in Sahara Sand, row of dots in Memento Black and greeting in Wild Wasabi.  Layer onto Basic Black 3 1/8 x 4 3/8.  Add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Stamp leaves twice on Whisper White using Wild Wasabi – one ‘full strength’ and one stamped off once.  Add to card front.
  • Add some Basic Rhinestones to finish off

And don’t forget to head over to Create with Connie and Mary to check out what the design team did with this delightful challenge!

Hello Sunshine

CAS306Okay…I just have to say…be prepared to see A LOT of these framelit words!  I just LOVE them and have been playing with them all day today!

The CAS challenge on SCS is White + 1 color.  So I went super simple and did white + Crushed Curry.  I did stamp of the sun once to make that a little lighter.

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded.  Round bottom right corner.
  • Whisper White – 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  Round bottom right corner.
  • Ink sun (Kinda Eclectic) using Crushed Curry, stamp off once and stamp on panel.
  • Stamp SUNSHINE using Crushed Curry
  • Cut out ‘hello’ from Crushed Curry and use Tombow multi-purpose glue to add to panel.
  • Add panel to card front using dimensionals.

Yep…that really is ALL there is to this card!

Set(s): Kinda Eclectic, Crazy About You
Paper: Whisper White, Crushed Curry
Ink: Crushed Curry
Other: Hello You Framelits, Project Life Corner Rounder, Dimensionals

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

TSSC324Can you believe it…it’s Monday again and time again for the Teachnostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  As soon as I saw the challenge I knew EXACTLY what set I would be using for this.  I decided to use the colors from the Create with Connie and Mary Summer Collection 2014 Saturday Challenge!  I thought they would work GREAT with the set.

The leaves are a little fussy to cut out but I do think that having the one cut out and tucked behind the strip works out and gives a little extra dimension.

Here’s the details –

  • Lost Lagoon – 4 1/4 x 11 folded, stamp the Hardwoood background in Lost Lagoon
  • Whisper White 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  Stamp the starburst in Sahara Sand and the leaves in Mossy Meadow.  Stamp the greeting in Lost Lagoon and Mossy Meadow.  Layer on Mossy Meadow 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.
  • Stamp leaves again in Mossy Meadow on Whisper White, cut out and add to card.
  • Strip is 3/4 x 3 1/2 Lost Lagoon and stamp dotted strip using Lost Lagoon and add to panel.
  • Add large Basic Metal Button using Whisper White Bakers Twine and add panel to card front using dimensionals.
  • Add some Basic Rhinestones to finish it off.

TSSC324See the sketch really is perfect for this set!  Don’t forget to check out the other members of the team and remember go to the Technostamper blog to play along!
