Joyous Celebrations

We have such a great sketch challenge on Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge this week!  And since the sketch is perfect for small images, I decided to use my Joyous Celebrations Set!  (This is one of the sets we will be showing in the Create with Connie and Mary Card “Create”tions Holiday Cards!

Okay…I just absolutely LOVE this little reindeer and if you are nuts like me, you REALLY love to cut this little bugger out along with cutting out those fun little bows!  LOL!!  Yep…I’m NUTS!!!

The base of the card is Real Red.  I too a piece of Whisper White, ran it through the Snow Flurries Embossing Folder, added a piece of Real Red Polka Dotted paper and layered it onto a piece of Whisper White.  Next I cut out a Whisper White Apothecary Arts Framelit and punched 1/8″ holes on each side.  I took some Early Espresso 1/4” Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon through the holes added the extra ‘loopies’ on the left side.  I added this to the panel using dimensionals on the back of the panel.  This is added to the card front using dimensionals.  So those little reindeer are embossing with Early Espresso Embossing Powder and the bows are stamped in Real Red and these are added to the little framelit.  I stamped the greeting using Real Red, punched with the Word Window punch, added to an Early Espresso Modern Label Punch then added to the card front to finish it off.

Now remember…if you would like to see the other cards (shown only in Create with Connie and Mary Card “Create”, you will need to subscribe.

Tweet Leaves

The SUO Challenge this time is to make an Elegant Autumn card.  Oooooooo…I love autumn!  But…when I sat down to work on it, somehow traditional autumn colors didn’t seem to appear on my card anywhere…LOL!!!  I wonder how THAT happened!

I do love how this turned it out though and I do love the Island Indigo, Elegant Eggplant, Sahara Sand together.  The base of the card is Island Indigo.  I took a piece of Elegant Eggplant, inked the Argyle Embossing Folder with Elegant Eggplant ink and then ran my paper through that to give it more depth.  I layered this on Sahara Sand then added to the card base.  I added a piece of the newsprint then a piece of Silver Glimmer paper.  I embossed the image on Very Vanilla then sponged the three colors on it.  I curled the ends of the leaves then added to the card front.  I stamped the greeting using Elegant Eggplant on Sahara Sand, cut into a banner, added a ‘bow’ (click on the tutorial tab above to get to that tutorial) from Natural 7/8″ Ribbon and an incolor Printed Brad then added to the card front using glue dots and dimensionals.

Set(s): Tweet Leaves, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand, Island Indigo, Elegant Eggplant, Newsprint dsp, Silver Glimmer

Evergreen

Mary Jo has such a GREAT sketch this week…so nice and simple!  I knew as soon as I saw it that I would be using this set with it.  Just PERFECT!!!  I soooo love the Evergreen set!

This is a quick and easy card.  The base of the card is Lucky Limeade.  I took a piece of Early Espresso and added it to the card front.  I took a piece of my very favorite print from the Candlelight Christmas dsp pack, added a Very Vanilla Large Scallop edge under it then added to the card front.  Next I stamped the tree using Lucky Limeade and Early Espresso on Very Vanilla, layered onto Early Espresso and added some Gold Brads.  I added this panel to the card front using dimensionals.  I punched a star from Gold Glimmer using star in the Merry Mini punch pack and added using a glue dot.  Finally I stamped the greeting in Lucky Limeade on Very Vanilla, punched with Word Window punch, layered on Early Espresso Modern Label punch then to the card front to finish it off.  Soooo elegant!

Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Lucky Limeade, Champagne Glimmer & Candlelight Christmas dsp

Evergreen Class

WELCOME TO MY NEW BLOG!!!  I am sooooooo excited to have you all here!  Isn’t this new look WONDERFUL?  I absolutely LOVE IT!!!  And the really cool thing?  Julie (of Webics Designs) has designed 3 looks for me – one for Fall (GORGEOUS!!!) and coming soon – Winter followed by my Spring/Summer look!  I can’t wait!  Then Randy (my DH) found this cool blog template for me so…I am rocking!

To ‘kick things off’ I am going to share not only some fun cards (and a little 3D) using the Evergreen set, but also a quick and easy pdf that has ALL the instructions in there!  Now…please don’t think I’ll be doing this all the time – NOT!  These were my projects that I did for my upline’s meeting in September.  We were asked to pick a set and create 3 cards and 1 small 3D item.  Since I just {heart} this set, I couldn’t wait to use it for my mnts for her meeting.

Since I liked this sooooo much I thought I’d just hold off showing these until it was time to ‘unveil’ my new blog!  So TA-DA!!!!  New blog and fun Evergreen sampler set!

Want to see the individual pictures and download my instruction sheet?  I thought so!  Here you go…

Merry Mini Favor

I hope you have enjoyed my week of the Merry Mini set.  Well since the week is not over, I still have ONE MORE for you.

This is a fun little favor that I made to go with my card set.  We did this as a mnt at my workshop in October.  I got the idea from p 10 of the Holiday Mini.  It really is such a simple favor.  The base is the Fancy Favor box.  I score down 1 1/4” from the top and cut out all but the flap.  I added a piece of Whisper White under the flap so the decoration shows.  I did the 1 1/4” Scallop Circle in Champagne Glimmer and a 1” Whisper White Circle.  I stamped merry Christmas using Early Espresso on Lucky Limeade and punched out using Word Window punch.  I stamped the tree using Lucky Limeade and Early Espresso, punched with the mini Christmas tree punch and added using dimensionals.  I used half of a Velcro tab for the closure.

Merry Minis – Last One!

So…I did want to show each of the individual cards in my Merry Minis card set for the Create with Connie and Mary Card “Create”tions Edition.  Check out Create with Connie and Mary to learn more!

I will have to say, of the three I made with this set, this one was my favorite!  First I LOVE Pool Party as a Christmas color and then I just LOVE the CAS (clean and simple) look of this!  The base of the card is Pool Party, I took another layer of Pool party, stamped the greeting and embossed with silver embossing powder, layered on Whisper White then used the Festive paper piercing template to pierce an ornament on there.  I added the ornament ‘string’ just be doing straight lines.  I added this panel to the card front using   I stamped the flourishy little ornament using Pool Party on Whisper White three times, punched with the ornament Merry Mini punch and then 3 Silver Glimmer ornaments too.  I made itty bitty bows from the Pool Party/Whisper White Baker’s twine and glued them on the ornament.  Okay…you wanted to know WHERE I used the SILVER GLIMMER PEN????  Well I used that to draw the ‘strings’ from the ornaments to the Merry Christmas Greeting.  Look closely!

Evergreen – A Sketch Challenge

There is such a wonderful sketch on Create with Connie and Mary this week!  I like when we try ‘something new’ and diagonals are definitely not something we have in our sketches very often!

Didn’t this turn out pretty?  I thought so too!  The base of the card is Lucky Limeade.  I would LOVE to tell you the name of the dsp I used on this but I am writing this while I am away from home, I do not have my catalog or mini and I am tooooooo tired to look up the information.  However, it is NOT Snow Festival or the Festive paper pack.  It’s the one with the Red Flocked paper in there.  I’m SURE you can find it from THAT description!  LOL!!!  I layered an Early Espresso Ribbon Lace Strip under it and a champagne glitter strip about it.  I made a ‘bow’ (click here for my tutorial) using Very Vanilla Seam Binding and a Very Vanilla brad, added it to the diagonal panel then added this to the card front. I stamped the tree in Lucky Limeade (with a little Early Espresso for the trunk) on Very Vanilla cardstock, that gold embossed the loopy Christmas tree on top of it.  This is layered onto Early Espresso then onto the card front using dimensionals to finish it off.  The greeting is from Petite Pairs and was stamped in Early Espresso.  The star was punched from the Champagne Glimmer paper using the little start punch from the Merry Mini punch set.

Set(s): Evergreen, Petite Pairs
Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Lucky Limeade, Champagne Glimmer & the dsp from Holiday Mini that is NOT Snow Festival or Festive
Ink: Lucky Limeade, Early Espresso, Versamark
Other: Gold Embossing Powder, Ribbon Lace Punch, Very Vanilla Seam Binding, Neutral Brads, Merry Mini Punch Pack, Dimensionals.

Merry Minis

On Monday I posted a card from my Create with Connie and Mary Card “Create”tions set which used the Merry Minis set.  You all LOVE it so I thought I’d share another of the three here today.

Here is one of the other cards I made for my Merry Minis card set.  This is pretty basic just using the fun tree image from the Merry Mini set and I just LOVE the cute tree dsp from the Snow Festival set.  Once I finished this card and was looking at my finished card I thought to myself how CUTE this would have also been if I had used the ornament stamp image (and matching punch of course) and that cute ornament paper in the Snow Festival paper pack.  Now wouldn’t that be CUTE?  Well if you would like to do that and would like to know all the supplies and measurements for this card ( so you can recreate it), check out my post on Create with Connie and Mary.  There I have a downloadable file with all the information for this card including the measurements!  Yep…it’s all there.

Oh…while you are there…check out Connie and my new adventure…Create with Connie and Mary Card “Create”tions!  Three fun filled weeks filled with cards, cards and even more cards!

Frosty Friends

Oh…it’s been awhile since I was able to do Mary Jo’s sketch challenge.  When I saw this sketch my first reaction was ‘oh my’ but I tweaked it a little and it really worked!

The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler.  I took the blue/red print from the Festive Paper pack and added to the card front.  Next I took the chevron print (which is the backside of that paper), cut into a banner and added to the card base.  I added a little strip of Silver Glimmer.  I stamped the image using StazOn Jet Black on Watercolor paper, cut with the Label Framelit, colored with Cherry Cobbler and Bashful Blue (and a little Pink Pirouette) markers, sponged using Cherry Cobbler, added some Dazzling Details and Basic Rhinestones and added to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting using Basic Black on Bashful Blue, cut into a banner, sponged in Bashful Blue and added to the card front using dimensionals and glue dots.

Set(s): Frosty Friends, Sweet Essentials
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Festive dsp paper pack, Silver Glimmer, Watercolor
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Cherry Cobbler, Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette
Other: Dazzling Details, Label Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals
