Beach Theme

Oh…what a perfect theme for this week!  It’s once again the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Blog Hop and this week it is a Beach theme!  We really have some fun things for a beach…can’t wait to see what everyone does.

When I saw this theme, I immediately thought of the fun beach chairs.  Then I remembered I could make water/sand theme using the High Tide set.  Put those together and this is what I got…

Is that fun?  Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 1/8 x 4 3/8, stamp ‘sand’ in Crumb Cake, mask, stamp ‘water’ in Pool Party, ‘sun’ in Crushed Curry, ‘bird’ in Smoky Slate, and greeting using Memento black.
  • Crumb Cake – 3 1/4 x 4 1/2, layer stamped panel on it and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral – cut chair out of each, layer and add using dimenionals
  • It’s hard to see in the photo but I used Clear Wink of Stella on the ‘water’ to make is shimmery.

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

High Tide

Well it’s more playing with the A Little Foxy dsp and this time I decided to pair it with the High Tide set.

Now at first I wasn’t sure just how good this would work but after I finish, I ended up being pretty happy with it.  I haven’t used this set to really build a scene but I do like stamping the words over the one image of the lighthouse…I think that looks really cool.  I have also found when using the Baker’s Twine for bows that I like doubling or tripling up (like I did here) before I tie it to make it a little more substantial.

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper Whit e- 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Calypso Coral/White print – 3 3/8 x 4 5/8, layer onto Night of Navy 3 1/2 x 4 3/4, add to card front
  • Chevron print – 2 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Night of Navy – 1/2 x 5 1/2, add to card front
  • Pool Party raindrop print – cut with large circle framelit, sponge around the edges using Pool party, add to card front
  • Whisper White – 2 x 4, punch using Scallop Tag Topper and round bottom corners using corner punch, stamp lighthouse using Smoky Slate, greeting using Night of Navy and Calypso Coral and ‘light’ using Calypso Coral, add tag using dimensionals.
  • Triple layer Night of Navy Baker’s Twine, tie into a bow and add using glue dot

What a cool encouragement card!

High Tide

I decided it was time that I buy the new High Tide set.  I LOVE lighthouses but for some reason decided I didn’t NEED this set.  I did keep looking at it and finally decided the time had come.

I have  wonderful group of women that meet every month and we always make a couple cards.  I decided yesterday morning that I wanted to do a card with this set with them and came up with this idea.  I wanted to use some of my By the Shore dsp since, as we all know, that paper will be going away in the next catalog.  I was really happy with how it turned out and the ladies enjoyed it too!

Here’s the details…

  • Sahara Sand – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Sahara Sand – 4 x 5 1/4, wrap piece of Night of Navy Bakers Twine around the panel and add to card front
  • Calypso Coral Starfish dsp – 2 1/4 x 4 1/2 add to card front using dimensionals
  • Dapper Denim wide strip dsp – 3 x 2 3/4, add to card front
  • Very Vanilla – 2 1/4 x 3 1/2, stamp lighthouse using Calypso Coral, greeting using Dapper Denim, sand using Sahara Sand, ‘light’ using So Saffron, add to card front using dimensionals

Isn’t that AWESOME!  I think it is very cool indeed.
