Sorry I’ve been a bit absent…life got a bit complicated the past week and I wasn’t home to do any stamping and just had my posts that I had worked ahead on. But I’m back now and trying to back into the swing of everything and starting out with this card for the SUO challenge…a single layer card.
Now a single layer card is definitely a CAS card so this was an easy one for me. I knew I wanted to do a ‘silhouette’ look…so I just had to figure out how to go about it. My Happy Watercolor Set was just perfect for what I wanted to do!
Here’s the details…
- Whisper White 4 1/4 x 11 folded.
- Stamp the watercolor ‘blob’ using Daffodil Delight Three Times
- Stamp the Flower image using StazOn Jet Black and color in with a Basic Black Marker.
- Stamp the greeting using Basic Black
- Run through the Delicate Designs border along the bottom
- Tie a piece of Daffodil Delight Seam Binding around it and yep…you are done! It IS that easy!
Make sure you check out what the rest of the SUO design team did with the challenge!

Welcome to the December Tour de Freaks blog hop where we are giving you a sneak peek of the fun new stuff that is available in the NEW Occasions Mini. If you are going forward through the blog hop you arrived here from Patty Bennett’s blog…weren’t her project such FUN!!!!
For my project I decided to use one set from the new Occasions Mini. When I participate in the hop I like all my projects to ‘coordinate’ so today I’m sharing with you a simple box and set of 5 different notecards.
First…my box. I know that you have seen TONS of boxes out there made with the envelope punch boards and yep…this is another one. I had designed this for my Hostess Appreciation event where each person made a set of 5 monogrammed notecards then this box (well…different colors and such) to hold them. Since i was doing notecards for this I decided to share the box. It’s so simple – 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of cardstock then 3 1/8 and 4 1/8 punch/score. Yeppers…that is it! The black strip is 3/4 x 10 1/2. The tag using the new scallop tag topper oh…hmmm…the twine is from SAB!!! I bet you can guess what set I decided to use? Happy Watercolor!!!
When designing my cards for this project i didn’t want to use the Happy Watercolor set for the flowers but instead for the ‘watercolor’ images that are in there. I think this gives it a very contemporary look to these little cards! The card on the left using another tag (like I did for the front of the box) and more of the SAB twine and for the card on the right, just an extra panel and a strip. Oh…I decided that my colors were Whisper White, Pool Party, Crisp Cantaloupe and Black. All my projects use just these colors. So these are my two ‘thank you’ cards. The envelope liners are Crisp Cantaloupe and again…wanted to keep things nice and modern.
This is my set of 3 “you make me HAPPY” cards. I used the Scallop Tag Topper again…this time to make a thin tag and added a Boutique Details embellishment on it and the other two are just an additional panel (the one layered onto Crisp Cantaloupe). The envelope liners on these are Pool Party.
So here’s a listing of all my supplies…
||Whisper White, Pool Party, Crisp Cantaloupe, Basic Black, Subtles dsp paper pack, Incolor dsp paper pack
||Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party, Basic Black
||Envelope Punch Board, Scallop Tag Topper, Hexagon Punch (for banners), Envelope Liners Framelits, Boutique Details, Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack (SAB), Dimensionals
