SP15SatHopWelcome

Welcome everyone to the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Saturday Blog Hop!  This month the design team is going to be saying good-bye to the incolors that will be retiring with this catalog.  Each week we will feature a different color.  First color up…Lost Lagoon.

I decided for my card to go monochromatic and just use Lost Lagoon and white.  I thought it ended up turning out pretty good!

  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 5 1/2, run through the Butterfly folder, add to card front
  • Lost Lagoon – 1/4 x 2 1/2, cut each end on slant and add to card front
  • Stamp cup using Lost Lagoon, cut out using matching framelit, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Stamp the 3 flower image using Lost Lagoon on Whisper White 3 times and punch out with matching punch, add to card front/cup
  • Whisper White – 5/8 x 2. stamp greeting using Lost Lagoon, cut into banner on both ends and add using dimensionals
  • Add Basic Rhinestones to the center of each flower to finish off.

SP15SatHopWelcome

Welcome everyone to the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Saturday Blog Hop!  With this being Easter weekend for us here, we thought we’d celebrate with “Hello Spring”.

SatHopSpring

As always there’s a story to go along with this!  This actually started a couple weeks ago with the idea for doing it for a color challenge for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge.  So I made the cup and the flowers and then these leaves and then realized…OOOPS…wrong color for the leaves.  Next I realized the color I would have to use for the circle was not REALLY the color I wanted to use and well…it sort of just sat, you guessed it…ON THE TOP OF MY DESK.  So I was trying to figure out what to do for our ‘hello spring’ thing and this was sitting on top of my desk…well, at least parts of it so I went with it.  I do think it looks nice and ‘springy’!

Here’s the details…

  • Mint Macaron – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Whisper White – 5 1/8 x 3 7/8
  • Mint Macaron 5 x 3 3/4, run through the Decorative Dots embossing folder, layer on the white and add to card front
  • Blushing Bride/white stripe – 4 1/4 x 1 3/4, add to card front
  • Watermelon Wonder – 1/4 x 4 3/4, add to card front
  • Blushing Bride – cut out 2 3/4″ circle (circle framelits) – add to card front using dimensionals
  • Multi-color dotted paper – cut out cup, sponge using Crumb Cake, add using dimensionals
  • Stamp leaf, image using Basic Black Archival, color with Mint Macaron Marker, cut out
  • Stamp two smallest flower using Basic Black Archival, color with Watermelon Wonder Marker, pucnh out (do 3 sets) layer
  • Add leaves and flowers to cup
  • Stamp banner using Basic Black Archival on Mint Macaron, stamp greeting inside banner, cut out, add using dimensionals
  • Add Basic Rhinestones to centers of flowers to finish off.

CCMC398Happy Thursday everyone!  And I guess it would also be Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Today we have a GREAT color challenge…not St Patrick’s Day inspired but a GREAT color combo.  I do have to say though…I did have some problems with this one!  I think I started 4 different cards before I ended up with this…a super simple, CAS notecard!

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White NOTECARD – fold
  • Birthday Bouquet dsp – 1 3/8 x 5, add to card base
  • Mossy Meadow – 1/2 x 4, cut two, add to card base
  • Whisper White – 3 x 4 1/2, stamp greeting using Soft Sued and Watermelon Wonder, add to notecard front using dimensionals
  • Watermelon Wonder – Bloomin’ Heart Thinlet – cut out 3 of the large flowers, Mossy Meadow – punch out leaf/stem from the 2-step bird punch, layer under flowers and add to notecard front – one is added using dimensionals
  • Add Soft Suede Candy Dot to center of each flower to finish off
  • Cut out envelope liner from the matching dsp, add to inside of the notecard envelope

SUO144Well…it’s time again for another SUO challenge.  Our theme this time is spring!  Now…that sounds like a REALLY easy them but I didn’t have anything that said ‘spring’ on it!  What’s a girl to do!

I was playing around with a couple different ideas but they weren’t working for me so I decided to go super simple and use daisies.  I don’t think these are really spring flowers but I think the ‘feel’ of the card generally is spring and I’m sticking with that!

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Black/white dotted – 1 1/8 x 4 1/4x, add to card front
  • So Saffron – 3/8 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Stamp flowers using Basic Black Archival, punch out, add to card front
  • Color center of smallest flower using Crushed Curry, add the Crushed Curry It’s My Party Enamel Dots to the centers of the other two flowers
  • Stamp greeting using Crushed Curry.

Okay…it really doesn’t get much simpler than that!

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see their wonderful creations!
