Saying Goodbye

Can you believe it…it is another Saturday already!  And what a fine Saturday it is!  The sun is supposed to be shining all day and my husband and I have decided to take the weekend off from unpacking.  We’ll see if that happens!

This time of year it is all about what is retiring from Stampin’ Up! and I have to say a couple of my favorite things are going away.  As soon as I say that our theme this week is saying good-bye…I just KNEW #1 on my list for using was Gorgeous Grunge.  I am going to so miss this set!

So beside the Gorgeous Grunge I also added in there Layering Letters (another GREAT set) and Crazy About You.  The Watermelon Wonder is going away and so is this version of Rhinestone.  So…saying good-bye to a lot!

Here’s the details…

  • Watermelon Wonder – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 3/4 x 5, stamp large scatter with Peek-a-boo Peach and small scatter with Watermelon Wonder and Bermuda Bay, stamp letters in Memento Black.  Layer onto Basic Black 3 7/8 x 5 1/8, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Bermuda Bay – 1/2 x 1 1/4, stamp you using Memento Black, cut into banner, add using dimensionals
  • Add some Basic Rhinestones to finish off.

I just lover how happy this is!  And it makes me happy to tell you…

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

Tin of Cards

I was in the mood to do a splatter type card.  I love the new splatters in the Happy Celebrations set but I also LOVE the Gorgeous Grunge set.  The two really work so nicely together.

I started putting these two splatters together and thought this ended up being such a fun card!  I’ve really been into the Peek-a-boo Peach color (note to self…order more cardstock) and paired it up with Real Red and Basic Black for a fun look!

Here’s the details…

  • Peek-a-boo Peach – 3 3/4 x 11 folded
  • Real Red Diagonal Stripe – 3 /4 x 3 3/4, add to bottom of card front
  • Basic Black – 1/2 x 3 3/4, add to card front
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2  x 4 1/4, stamp larger splatter using Peek-a-boo Peach, smaller splatter using Real Red and greeting using Memento Black, add to card front
  • Add some Silver Metallic Enamel Stars to finish off

How quick and easy!

Fresh Fruit

CreateBannerSU16HopWelcome

Welcome everyone to the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Design Team Blog Hop.  Are you enjoying the new catalog?  I know we are!  This week we are featuring our favorite new stamp set.  Now this was a real problem for me because my favorite stamp set in the new catalog keeps changing – LOL!!!  I picked this set for two reasons…one…I LOVE the way the peach looks stamped when you ink in one color and then add some more with a sponge dauber.  And the second reason…I had just finished eating a fresh peach!  LOL!!!

SatHopSet

Don’t these peaches look good enough to eat?  Besides using the Fresh Fruit set, I also used another of my favorite sets…Gorgeous Gunge!

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 11 folded, round the bottom right corners
  • Incolor Envelope dsp – 1 1/4 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Cucumber Crush – 1/8 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 4 3/4, stamp splatter 2 times using Peek-a-boo Peach stamped off each time, stamp other splatter 2 times using Cucumber Crush stamped off each time, round bottom right corner and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Ink peach image using Peek-a-boo Peach, use a sponge dauber to add Tangerine Tango, ink leaves using Cucumber Crush then use sponge dauber to add Emerald Envy, cut out peaches/leaves and add using dimensionals
  • Basic Black – cut out enjoy from the Mini Treat Bag thinlits and add to card front

I so like the way this turned out and keeping things clean and simple really let the peaches be the focal point.

Zoo Babies

SUO145Well it’s time for another SUO challenge and this time our theme is ‘Cute Critters’.  This was another one of those where I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it.

I was looking for a ‘cute critter’ to use on my card and remembered I had those ‘cute’ zoo babies so that made the decision easy for me.  After playing around with a couple of them, I finally decided to go simple (I know..SHOCKER!!!) and this is what I ended up with.  I think it turned out so fun!

Here’s the details.

  • Mint Macaron – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • It’s My Party dsp (Melon Mambo diagonal stripe) – 3/4 x 5 1/2, add to card base
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 5 1/2, stamp splotch in Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Mint Macaron, stamp greeting using Melon Mambo
  • Stamp elephant twice in Basic Grey Archival, cut ear out of second one and add to elephant.  Add elephant using dimensionals.  Add White Candy Dot for elephant eye.
  • Add panel to card front using dimensionals
  • Crushed Curry – 1/8 x 5 1/2, add to Whisper White panel
  • Add It’s My Party Enamel Dots to finish it off

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see their wonderful creations!
