Frosty Friends

Okay…so I was needing to make a card for my November Creative Crew assignment on SCS to use the colors in the Festive dsp pack and I wanted a unique layout for the card.  Then I was looking at Mary Jo’s Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge and thought I like the overall look but was going to take a couple ‘liberties’ with her sketch.  You know…that’s the nice thing about sketch challenges, they can be a place to start!

This is such an easy card.  The base of the card is Very Vanilla.  I took strips of dsp from the Festive dsp paper pack and cut the in ends into different banners and added to the card front.  Next I took a piece of watercolor paper, stamped the Frosty Friends in versamark and embossed with the Early Espresso Embossing Powder and colored in with my Island Indigo (no … really …it’s in there… it’s the birds), Cherry Cobbler, Lucky Limeade and Crumb Cake markers, layered a Cherry Cobbler Large Scallop Edge under it, a Cherry Cobbler strip on the top and then wrapped a piece of Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon around it.  This is added to the card front.  I stamped the greeting using Lucky Limeade and Cherry Cobbler markers on Very Vanilla, punched with the Large Oval Punch, layered onto an Early Espresso Scallop Oval Punch piece then added to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the little tree from the Merry Minis using Lucky Limeade and Early Espresso, punched with the Merry Mini Tree Punch and added using a dimensional.  Now if you would like to see all the ‘Creative Crew’ creations for November, check them out here.

Frosty Friends

Oh…it’s been awhile since I was able to do Mary Jo’s sketch challenge.  When I saw this sketch my first reaction was ‘oh my’ but I tweaked it a little and it really worked!

The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler.  I took the blue/red print from the Festive Paper pack and added to the card front.  Next I took the chevron print (which is the backside of that paper), cut into a banner and added to the card base.  I added a little strip of Silver Glimmer.  I stamped the image using StazOn Jet Black on Watercolor paper, cut with the Label Framelit, colored with Cherry Cobbler and Bashful Blue (and a little Pink Pirouette) markers, sponged using Cherry Cobbler, added some Dazzling Details and Basic Rhinestones and added to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting using Basic Black on Bashful Blue, cut into a banner, sponged in Bashful Blue and added to the card front using dimensionals and glue dots.

Frosty Friends

Since this was on my old blog, just loading some of my favorites into my new blog.

Don’t these little snowmen just make you smile?  They do me!  Just soooooo cute!  And they were just PERFECT for the final Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Edition 2012.  The card base is Cherry Cobbler.  I took a piece of Whisper White and added some strips of dsp from the Be of Good Cheer paper pack.  I stamped the cute snowman line-up using StazOn Jet Black and did just minimal coloring using Cherry Cobbler, Primrose Petals, Gumball Green and Soft Suede markers, added a Soft Suede Scallop Edge along the bottom and added this to the panel.  I wrapped a piece of Primrose Petal Stitched Satin Ribbon and added this to the card front.  I did the medium snowflake in Gumball Green, and the small snowflake in Primrose Pink, a 1/2″ Cherry Cobbler circle and then a Cherry Cobbler brad and added to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped merry, punched with the jewelry tag punch and added to the snowflake to finish it off.
