Work of Art

CC481Yep … you guessed it …  ANOTHER Work of Art card!

There’s sort of a story behind this one though because this is NOT what I set out to stamp this morning…HONESTLY!

You see I wanted to do a card for the SCS Color Challenge today.  I decided I was going to used the word Thanks or Thank You (nice and big and bold) and then have silhouette style flowers behind it in the Strawberry Slush and So Saffron.  Then I was going to add the little Strawberry Slush bow on the T in Thanks.  And this is what I did … HMMM … NOT even close!  Now I’m not saying I don’t like this…I do.  It’s just interesting what I see in my head and what I end up with!

Here’s the details –

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 4 1/4, run through chevron embossing folder and add to card front
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 3 1/2.  Stamp the larger swish in So Saffron and the smaller one in Strawberry Slush.  Stamp greeting using Smoky Slate.
  • So Saffron dsp (Subtles dsp Paper Pack) – 1/4 x 3 1/2 add to bottom
  • Wrap piece of Strawberry Slush Twine along bottom.  Tie small bow from the Strawberry Slush Twine and add to card using glue.
  • Attach panel using dimensionals.
  • Add some Basic Rhinestones to finish off.

Quick and easy…my very favorite kind of card!

Set(s): Work of Art, Four You
Paper: Whisper White, Subtles dsp paper pack
Ink: Smoky Slate, So Saffron, Strawberry Slush
Other: Strawberry Slush Twine, Chevron Embossing Folder, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

SUO98Happy Tuesday everyone!  It’s time for another GREAT SUO challenge!  The theme this time is “Stamping in the Background”.  I took that to mean instead of using dsp, create your own using stamps and that is exactly what I did.

Sometimes with all the new ‘stuff’ we have to use in stamping, we forget about just using stamps, ink, and paper or as we use to say, take a ‘SIP’.  With the excellent Hardwood Background stamp and the Gorgeous Grunge set, making your own background is a soooo easy!

Here’s the details…

  • Pear Pizzazz – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Smoky Slate – 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  Start by RANDOMLY inking the Hardwood stamp using Basic Grey and stamp onto panel.  Next stamp the larger splatter using Pear Pizzazz and the smaller one using Blackberry Bliss (ooooooooo….I do LOVE this color!).
  • Layer onto a piece of Blackberry Bliss 3 3/4 x 5.
  • Add piece of Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow Stitched Satin Ribbon and add panel to card front using dimensionals.
  • Whisper White – 1 1/8 x 3 3/8, stamp greeting using Mossy Meadow and add to card front (slip it under the Blackberry Bliss ribbon
  • Tie large Basic Metal Button with White Baker’s Twine and add to card front using dimensionals.

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see which one they picked!

Set(s): Four You, Gorgeous Grunge, Hardwood Background
Paper: Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Blackberry Bliss, Pear Pizzazz
Ink: Basic Grey, Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss
Other: Blackberry Bliss AND Mossy Meadow Stitched Satin Ribbon, Basic Metal Button, White Baker’s Twine, Dimensionals

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

Work of Art

MayMnT3I just love the colors in the Maritime dsp – Real Red, Coastal Cabana and Night of Navy.  For that workshop in May, like I said in my other posts we made 4 easy cards.  I decided to show off a new set (and of course I used my VERY FAVORITE new set – Work of ART) and when I was trying to figure out some cool colors to use, I decided it would be fun to used the colors in the Maritime dsp.  Just a note…the Real Red button on this is a retired one.  I didn’t have enough of the new buttons to use for all the make and times.  The new ones will work great too!

Here’s the details –

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 11
  • Whisper White – 3 1/4 x 4 1/2.
  • Stamp chevron using Coastal Cabana, larger swoosh using Real Red and small swoosh using Night of Navy.
  • Stamp greeting using Night of Navy
  • Layer onto Coastal Cabana 3 3/8 x 4 5/8.
  • Punch out Night of Navy Bitty Banner and add to pack of panel then add panel to card front.
  • Tie white Baker’s Twine into Real Red button and add to card front using glue dot.

Yep…it’s another quick and easy card!

Paper: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy

mnt2Here’s a card I designed as a make and take for my April workshop.  I was featuring the Envelope Punch Board and wanted to show making ‘bows’ using it.

Those of you who know me, know how much I just LOVE the clean and simple look and even though is card is Basic Grey for the base, it is still a great CAS card!  What I love about this card is the color accent, just change the color and you have a whole new look!

Here’s the details:

  • Basic Grey: 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 2 1/2 x 3 1/4
  • Black/White diagonal strip dsp (Kaelidoscope dsp) – 2 1/2 x 1 add to Whisper White.
  • Stamp greeting using Basic Black.  Add to Basic Black 2 5/8 x 3 3/8.  Add to card base using dimensionals.
  • Bow is made using Melon Mambo dsp –  a 5 x 1 piece punched at 2 1/2 on and then at the end (you can go on Pinterest and find MANY videos on how to make these bows) and 3 1/4 x 1 punched a 1 5/8 and then the ends.  Middle of bow – 1/4 x 1.  NOTE:  I layered 4 HALF dimensionals between the bow pieces so they won’t totally squish if being mailed.
  • Add finished bow to card.
  • Punch out Melon Mambo Bitty Butterfly add to card front and add Basic Black Candy Dot to center of butterfly to finish up.

What a fun card!  Have fun making it!

Set(s): Four You
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Grey, Melon Mambo, Brights dsp Paper Pack, Kaleidoscope dsp
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Envelope Punch Board (round cornes), Bitty Butterfly Punch, Neutrals Candy Dots, Dimensionals

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

TSSC311Oh…it’s Monday again and time for another Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch challenge and Mary Jo has ANOTHER great challenge for you!

If you remember last week I mentioned that we got to play with the new Blendabilities Markers and that I used the vases I had colored at the Mason Unite and Excite event.  At the event my friend Jackie Susnik won a set of those markers and she picked the Pumpkin Pie set!  Well…on Saturday she and my friend Jo came over to play and I colored a bunch of images.  Don’t be surprised if there is a lot of PUMPKIN on my sit!

Here’s the details for my card…

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Pumpkin Pie – 3 3/4 x 5 – 2 different prints cut on the diagonal and add to card front.
  • Whisper White – 2 3/4 x 4.  Stamp tulips using Memento Black Pad.  Flowers are colored with the three Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities and the stems with regular Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive markers (oh…PLEASE let me get these Blendabilities SOON!!!).  Add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Pear Pizzazz – 3 1/4 x 1.  Stamp hello using Basic Grey, cut into banner.  Add Pumpkin Pie button using Whisper White Bakers Twine.  Add to card front using dimensionals.
  • The three Rhinestones are colored using each of the three colors in the Pumpkin Pie set and added to the card front to finish it off!

TSSC311What a perfectly delightful sketch!  I just LOVE It!!  Don’t forget to check out the other members of the team and remember go to the Technostamper blog to play along!

Gorgeous Grunge

TSSC308Happy Monday and welcome to another Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge!  Such a cool sketch Mary Jo has for use this week!

I was going to use stars on this (since I’m using a lot of stars this week for projects) but then since stars were actually on the sketch, I wanted to do something different.  I think this turned out to be a cool masculine card.

Here’s the details…

  • Marina Mist – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Very Vanilla – 4 3/4 x 3 1/2.  Stamp the largest scatter using Crumb Cake, the medium on in Marina Mist and the small on in Cajun Craze.  Stamp greeting using Versamark and emboss using Early Espresso.
  • Layer onto Cajun Craze 4 7/8 x 4 5/8 and add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Early Espresso banner 2 1/4 x 3/4 and Cajun Craze print banner 2 x 3/4.  Add to card front.
  • Add two chevron Essentials Wooden Elements to finish it off.

TSSC307Oh…it’s time for another FUN sketch for the Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  This is just such a fun and easy card.

I will have to say…I was being a little lazy with this one.  You see, I had made THIS CARD using the same set and colors and I liked it soooo much (okay and ALL the stuff was sitting on top of my desk!) that I decided it would be absolutely PERFECT for the sketch challenge today!  I do have to say…I really like these colors with this set!

Here’s the details

  • Pistachio Pudding – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  Stamp the largest flower in Pool Party, the leafy image in Pistachio Pudding and the smaller flower in Basic Black.  Layer onto Basic Black 3 3/4 x 5 and add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Cut piece of Pool Party 1 x 3 5/8.  Stamp greeting using Basic Black.  Add Pistachio Pudding Stretch Ruffled Ribbon behind it then a 1/8 x 3 5/8 strip of Basic Black along the top.  Add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Finish card off by adding some Basic Rhinestones.

CAS265The CAS challenge on SCS this week is is to use color blocking then add a die cut or punch on top of that.  Oh…what a fun challenge that is!  I just couldn’t resist playing along.

I had been working on a card set that I will be sharing tomorrow and I was using these color (I just LOVE the bright and happy look of these together).  Since I do like to use “what is on top of my desk”, this card came together so quickly!

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 folded.  Round the corners using the Envelope Punch Board.  Stamp greeting using Basic Black.
  • Crushed Curry – 3/4 x 3 5/8 – round top corners using corner rounder.
  • Bermuda Bay – 1 3/8 x 2 – round bottom left corner using corner rounder.
  • Pumpkin Pie – 2 1/8 x 2 – round bottom right corner using corner rounder.
  • Add each of the color blocks to card front.

SUO91Welcome to another SUO challenge!  The theme this time is Banner Fun and I decided to have some FUN with my Banner Framelits and the Sweet Sorbet (SAB) dsp.  What a great combo and the most difficult part of it was deciding this this was going to be a birthday card or a congratulations card.  I guess you can tell which one won!  LOL!!!

  • Whisper White – 3 3/4 x 5, layer onto Basic Black 3 7/8 x 5 1/2.
