For the Birds

TSSC259Welcome to another Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  I have to say, this is such a CUTE set!  The images are simple and not that difficult to color…so I’m able to handle it!  LOL!!!

The base of the card is Pool  Party.  I took a piece of Island Indigo  and layered on the arrow print form the Sent with Love dsp.  I took another print added a Real Red Scallop Edge behind it, then a thin strip of Island Indigo then added to the Island Indigo panel.  I added two Calypso Coral Printed Designer Brads thend add the panel to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the image on Whisper White oval using StazOn Jet Black colored, layered it onto an Island Indigo Label Framelit then added to the card front using dimensionals.

CASHave I ever mentioned how I felt about coloring things in?  AAARRRGH!!!  So what’s the CAS challenge on SCS today?  To only use LINE STAMPS!!!  DANG!  But I do have this set and it is a SWEET one.

Some quick notes…base of the card is Real Red.  I took a piece of Whisper White, ran it though the woodgrain embossing folder and added to the care front.  Next I took a piece of Whisper White, cut into a banner, stamped this little cutie on there, colored with Bashful Clue, Real Red and Crumb Cake marker and tied a pies of Real Red Stitched Grosgrain around it.  I cut another banner (longer and thinner then my Whisper White one) from Bashful Blue, added it to the card base then added my little birdie banner using dimensionals to finish it off.

For the Birds

As you all know this month is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Over on Splitcoaststampers they are having their Hope You Can Cling To challenges and all the cards made for the challenges will be sent to the Breast Cancer site in Texas.  Since I am now part of the Dirty Dozen (yea…..I’m a ‘Dirty Girl’!) I am participating in the challenges and even hosting on later this month.  I made this for the first challenge which was “Show Me What You’re Made Of” where the challenge was to use thing that were your ‘go to’ style.  Oh…THAT was easy for me!

My ‘go to’ style stuff on this card is that it is most white (or very vanilla in this case).  Another part of it was that it looks like it is a small, square are but really, with the banners, it is a ‘normal’ size card.  Some quick details…

Base of the card is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 Very Vanilla and ran through the Stripes embossing folder.  Added a Real Red Banner, then a Marina Mist Polka Dotted Banner with a Crumb Cake Large Scallop edge under it.  I stamped the image using StazOn Jet Black ink on Watercolor paper, colored with markers (Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede), pierced a heart around it (another ‘go to’ thing for me) then added that little red heart from the 2-step Owl Punch.  This was added to the card front using dimensionals to finish it off.

Set(s): For the Birds
Paper: Very Vanilla, Real Red, Crumb Cake, Subtles dsp paper pack, Watercolor
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
Other: Windows Framelits, Paper Piercing Template, Large Scallop Edgelit, Stripes Embossing Folder, Owl 2-step Punch, Dimensionals

Merry Christmas Birdie

It’s Tuesday and time for another SUO Challenge.  The theme this time is Any Kind of Animal.  I don’t have any animal sets right now and figured birds are animals and I just LOVE this cute little Merry Christmas bird!

Some quick notes on this.  I used the Clean and Simple sketch for my card.  I just love nice simple cards! The base of the card is Pink Pirouette and I rounded the corners on the bottom.  I took two prints from the Snow Festival dsp pack, cut into strips along with a silver glimmer strip and a piece of Cherry Cobbler.  I added these to the card base.  I stamped the image on Watercolor paper using StazOn Jet Black in and colored with Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze, Gumball Green markers and blended with a blender pen.  I punched this out with the Decorative Label punch and added to the card front using dimensionals.  I cut out an ornament from the dsp and added that to the tab.  To finish it off I added some Basic Rhinestones.

Set(s): For the Birds
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Cherry Cobbler, Snow Festival dsp, Silver Glimmer, Watercolor
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze, Gumball Green
Other: Basic Rhinestones, Decorative Label Punch, Dimensionals

So check out what the SUO Design Team did with the challenge and join the fun!  Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

For the Bird

First a few quick notes about my card.  This is for Mary Jo’s Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge…GREAT sketch (as always!).  The base of the card is Primrose Petals.  I took a piece of Pink Pirouette, layered on Midnight Muse and added to the card front.  I took a piece of my very favorite butterfly print from the Patio Party pack, cut into a banner and added to the card front.  Next I stamped the ADORABLE bird image from For the Birds on a piece of Whisper White using StazOn Jet Black ink and colored using Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit, Baja Breeze, Midnight Muse, and Gumball Green markers.  If you look closely you will see I ‘paper pieced’ a part of the wagon using the cut butterfly print.  This was layered onto Baja Breeze then added to the card front using dimensionals.  Finally I  tied a piece of Baja Breeze Seam Binding around the card to finish it off!

Set(s): For the Birds
Paper: Whisper White, Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse, Baja Breeze, Patio Party dsp
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse, Baja Breeze, Gumball Green
