For All Things

SUO135Happy Tuesday everyone!  It’s time again for another SUO challenge and this time our theme is Fall Fun.  Hmmm…there are sooo many different ways to approach this one so I decided to go with my two FAVORITE ways to make a card…

Make it CAS (Clean and Simple) – check

Use things that are sitting on top of my desk (in this case the leaves, clothespin, and gold strip)

Don’t you just LOVE making cards this way?  I do!  LOL!!!  Just because this dsp is ‘Happy Hauntings’ that doesn’t REALLY mean it is just for Halloween!  I think most of the prints are PERFECT for general cards too!

Here’s the details…

  • Very Vanilla – 3 1/2 x 11 folded
  • Tangelo Twist/Vanilla stripe – 3/4 x 3 1/2, add to bottom of card
  • Basic Black – 3/8 x 4 1/4, add to card
  • Gold Glimmer – 1/2 x 4 1/4, add to card
  • Stamp greeting using Tangelo Twist
  • Happy Hauntings dsp – cut out the two leaves, tie a bow in a piece of Gold Cording Trim (LOVE this stuff!), layer leaves, add bow, blip together using Gold Metallic Mini Clothespin.  Add to card front using dimensionals.

See..easy as can be!

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see their wonderful creations!

Acorny Thank You

CCMC376Oh it’s time for a new Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge and this week…it’s a FUN color challenge:  Perfect Plum, Lost Lagoon, Tip Top Taupe.  How fun is that.

It’s been a while since I did any paper piercing or made a card where it looks like it is skinny but really is a ‘normal’ size card.  So I put those two ideas together…along with my very favorite acorny set and this is what I cam up with.  I just think it’s a fun and happy hall card!

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 11 folded
  • Use the Updated Essentials Ppaper Piercing Pack to make a ‘frame’ and stamp the greeting in Lost Lagoon and Perfect Plum.
  • Tip Top Taupe – 1 1/2 x 4 1/4, cut into banner on both ends and add using dimensionals
  • Lost Lagoon – 3 3/4 x 1/2 add to banner
  • Tip Top Taupe striped envelop dsp – 3/8 x 4 1/4, add to banner
  • Perfect Plum dsp (Subtles dsp paper pack) – 3/5 x 3 3/8 add to banner
  • Stamp acorn – solid acorn – Lost Lagoon, striped acorn – Perfect Plum, both acorn tops – Tip Top Taupe.  Punch out and layer.  Add solid/dotted acorn directly onto banner and striped/solid one using dimensionals.

Acorny Thank You

SUO132Yep…it’s Acorny Thank You AGAIN!!!  I’m just LOVIN’ this set and in these colors.  COOL!!!  Anyway…since it is Tuesday it is time for another SUO challenge – Punch It Up…using punches on your card.

Well…since I’m LOVIN’ this punch I knew I was going to use it then I also used the Banner Triple Punch and the Bow Builder Punch.

I actually had done another card for this challenge then realized the only punch I used was the acorn one so I decided to ‘punch it up’ a little more and did a second card!

Here’s the details…

  • Delightful Dijon – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Delightful Dijon – 3 1/2 x 5 1/2, ink the Woodland Embossing Folder using Delightful Dijon, run the cardstock through the folder.
  • Timeless Elegance (bold black/vanilla stripe) – 5/8 x 5 1/2, add to back of panel and add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Very Vanilla – 2 x 3 3/4, punch using Banner Triangle punch, stamp greeting using Versamark and black emboss.
  • Black Glimmer – 1 1/2 x 4, punch using Banner Triangle Punch, add behind banner and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Stamp solid acorn using Delightful Dijon, punch out, punch out acorn top from Black Glimmer, layer, add adhesive to the back and then add loops of Gold Cording Trim.  Add using dimensionals.  Add Vanilla Enamel Dot.
  • Boho dsp – Punch out Bow Builder using Bow Builder Punch.  NOTE:  I punched out double and layered so inside of the bow was same as outside.  Add using glue dots.

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see their wonderful creations!

Tour de Freaks – October

freakwelcome2013

Happy Freakin’ Hop Day!  It’s that time of month again when the control freaks get together to ‘strut their stuff’!  How AWESOME is THAT!!!  This month we are featuring Autumn/Grateful and since I LOVE the colors of Autumn…I just HAD to join the fun!  If you are going forward through the hop you arrived here from LeeAnn Greff and her fabulous Flowerbug Blog!  I just LOVE her style!!!

DSC02672I have a habit of stamping with what is ‘on the top of my desk’ and I just finished having my annual Christmas Card Class and one of the cards we did was this card but in Christmas colors.  Oh my…I do LOVE the Wondrous Wreath set and how EASY it is to line everything up since it is the Photopolymer!  My card base is Tangelo Twist.  The ‘stripe’ is actually the Color Me Autumn Washi Tape.  The panel is Very Vanilla and I used Crushed Curry, Tangelo Twist and Blackberry Bliss for my ink!  I just think these colors are SOOO rich together!  So this is a super quick and easy card for you!

DSC02671So next up…I have a little fancier card for you!  The base of the card is Tangelo Twist and I took another piece and ran it through the hexagon embossing folder,  I added a strip of Gold Glimmer Paper then took a piece of Blackberry Biss, used the Banner Framelits (just the ‘end) and cut this strip into a flag and add with dimensionals.  The wreath is stamped the same as above and cut out with the wreath framelits and added with dimensionals.  The greeting is from the Merry Everything set (Blackberry Bliss and Crushed Curry) and punched out with Note Tag Punch and add with dimensionals.  I added a Gold Basic Metal Button then tied a knot in a piece of the Tangelo Twist Ribbon and add using a glue dot.

DSC02675I always like to do a little 3D to go along with my other projects in the hop post and this time I did a little frame.  The frame is 4 x 6 and just the perfect size for this.

Okay…this is pretty much the same as everything above except I used a print from the Moonlight dsp paper stack (LOVE this stack!).  I used the Banner Framelits to cut out the banners for this (Blackberry Bliss and Tangelo Twist).  Tag is stamped with Blackberry Bliss and Tangelo Twist.  Everything else is pretty much the same!

DSC02677And there is my trio of Autumn just for you!

Now it is time to hop on over to Patty Bennett’s Patty’s Stamping Spot Blog.  She has some fall wonderfulness in store for you!

White Christmas?

CC500I had a little time before heading over to school today so I thought I’d check out the color challenge on SCS.  Since today is their 500th challenge (WOW!!) I just HAD to play along.  They have 4 different color combo – one for each season and the fall one caught my eye.

I had the White Christmas set ‘on top of my desk’ for another project I’m working on and then I saw the technique challenge on SCS was to use a pencil eraser…so you put the two together and viola…you have a fall tree!

Here’s the details –

  • Crushed Curry – 3 1/2 x 11 folded, run through the On Pointe Embossing Folded
  • Bermuda Bay star print (Motley Monsters dsp) – 1 x 4 1/4, cut into a banner.
  • Cajun Craze – 1/8 x 4 1/4, add to banner then add to card front.
  • Very Vanilla – 1 5/8 x 4 3/8 us the bottom side of the banner framelit to cut into a point.
  • Stamp single tree using using StazOn Jet Black.  I used the Project Life Journaling pen to extend the ‘ground’ to the end of the flag.
  • Color stem using Baked Brown Sugar and use pencil eraser to add ‘leaves’ in Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, and Bermuda Bay
  • Wrap Baked Brown Sugar Twine around top, add dimensionals to flaf and add to card front.
  • Tie knot in piece of Bermuda Bay 1/8″ taffeta ribbon, add to Gold Basic Button and add button to flag using dimensionals.
  • Stamp greeting using Cajun Craze.

I think this turn out SOOOOO cool and another use for the White Christmas set!
