Festive Flurry

CAS SnowflakeI’m soooo excited to be a Guest Designer for the LAST of the All-Star Holiday Season.  For the past several months the CAS Design Team Alumni have been ‘back in action’ helping out.  This week is the last week and my last time as a Guest Designer.  I do just LOVE the CAS challenges!

The theme for this challenge is snowflakes.  Although the SU Holiday Mini is over, you can still get the Festive Flurry stamp set and matching framelits so I decided to use that for my CAS card!  I did though decided to make it just a general winter card and my FAVORITE snowflake colors…pink and silver!  Yep…that REALLY is my VERY favorite!

Here’s the details:

  • Pink Pirouette – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White 4 1/4 x 4 1/2.
  • Stamp the greeting in Versamark and Silver Emboss.
  • Add a Silver Glimmer Scallop edge 4 1/4 x 3/4.  Add panel to card front using dimensionals.
  • Stamp snowflake using Versamark, Silver Emboss, cut out with matching Festive Flurry framelit, cut out snowflake from Pink Pirouette using same framelit.  Layer together using dimensionals, add to card front sing dimensionals.
  • Punch out middle Boho Blossoms flower in Pink Pirouette.  Add to center of snowflake.  Add Jumbo rhinestone to center to finish it off.

ValentineEditionBadgeAnd just like it’s not too late to get the Festive Flurry set and matching framelits, it’s not too late to subscribe to the Create with Connie and Mary Valentine Special Collection and get 4 exclusive ideas (2 card sets and 2 3D projects) using the Whole Lot of Love Valentine Collection from Stampin’ Up!  All 4 tutorials for only $5.95!

JOY Banner

Joy Banner

And here is the last of my angel projects.  I absolutely LOVE this little banner and it has been hanging on my mantle to Christmas.  I just looks so nice there!  After making my Spooky Banner, Fall Banner, and Snow Banner I had 3 banner panels left from my original kit.  How perfect was that!

The J and the Y is in Whisper White and I made them using letters in MDS.  These were cut out and added to the frame using double layers of dimensionals.  The angel is made using Whisper White, Blushing Bride and Silver Glimmer.  The snowflakes are stamped using Versamark, Silver Embossed, Vintage Buttons.

Set(s): Festive Flurry
Paper: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Blushing Bride, Champagne Glimmer
Ink: Versamark
Other: Banner Kit, Festive Flurry Framelits, MDS, Delicate Designs Embossing Folder, Gold Embossing Powder, Gift Bow Die, 1 3/8″ Circle Die, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, 1 1/4″ Circle Punch, Small Heart Punch, Word Window Punch, Merry Mini Punch Pack, Vintage Faceted Buttons, Dimensionals

JOY Frame

JOY Frame

I wanted to make a special project for some people at school so I made two of these.  One is for my former office mate and one is for the teacher I co-taught one of my classes with.  They are both such terrific women!

For the most part this just goes along with the other two projects I have shown already.  I used a print from the Season of Style dsp pack 12 x 6 then added Cherry Cobbler strips to each side (to fill the frame) and strips of Silver Glimmer paper.

Paper: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Blushing Bride, Silver Glimmer, Season of Style dsp

SUO86CardWelcome to the SUO challenge!  And what a great challenge we have for this time of year…last minute card and gift ideas.  I don’t know about you…but I know I sure could use some last minute ideas…well considering I haven’t even STARTED my Christmas cards yet…EEK!!!

So check out the SUO Design Team to see what they came up with.  I decided to show BOTH a last minute card and matching gift idea.  Honestly…this was a card we did for my World Card Making Day event and since I hadn’t shared it yet and it is a VERY simple card, I decided to use it for the challenge.

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Pool Party Snowflake Print – 4 x 5 1/4, add to card front
  • Shimmery White – 2 1/4 x 4 3/4, stamp greeting using Versamark and Silver Emboss.  Cut out the smallest Festive Flurry framelit.  Round the bottom corners.
  • Add Silver 1/8″ Ribbon to top then add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Add Frosted Embellishment to center of cut out snowflake

SUO86FrameI’ve had these little frames sitting around my house FOREVER!!!  I got them at Target and they came 3 in a pack for $2.50.  The inside opening on the frame is 3 1/2 x 3 1/2.  You really can’t beat that.  I bought them in both white and black and have used them for so many different projects over the years.  It was perfect for a little snowflake frame to go along with the card.  This would not only make a nice Christmas gift but it could be used as a decoration all through the Winter.

Here’s the details:

  • Shimmery White – 4 x 4
  • Pool Party Snowflake print – cut out 2nd to largest snowflake.  Add this panel to the Shimmery White piece using dimensionals.
  • Cut out the 2nd to smallest snowflake from the Silver Glimmer paper.  Add to panel using double dimensionals.
  • Stamp smallest snowflake using Versamark, emboss using Pool Party embossing powder, cut out with the smallest snowflake framelit, add to panel using dimensionals.
  • Add Frosted Embellishment to center of snowflake to finish it off and add panel to frame.

So I hope you enjoyed my last minute projects.  Check out what the rest of the SUO Design Team did for their last minute cards and gifts!

CCMC273Oh…this is another of those that I just WISH you could see this in real life.  The foil paper is just sooooo shiny and I just couldn’t capture that in the photo!  I LOVE the sketch on Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge this week and just went to go with white and silver!

This is also the last couple of days for our Create with Connie and Mary Winter Collection 2013 Preview Week and the LAST 3 days of our Early Bird Special!  You want to take advantage of that TODAY!!!!

This is really a pretty easy card.  The base of the card is Whisper White.  I took a piece of the foil cut the circle out with a circle framelit, ran it through the Stylish Stripes Embossing folder, then added to the card front.  I stamped the greeting in versamark on Whisper White, silver embossed and added to the card front using dimensionals.  The snowflake is the two smallest, stamped in versamark, silver embossed, cut out with the framelit, layered with dimensionals and added to the card front using dimensionals.  Finally I added a Frosted Finishes Snowflake to the center.

WinterBadgePreview Week IS ALMOST OVER!!!  If you haven’t checked out our very cool preview projects and taken advantage of our two preview projects we offered so far…you want to do that now!  Connie still has her project to share on Saturday!  Connie and I are starting the Early Bird signups for our Create with Connie and Mary Winter Collection 2013 but Saturday is the LAST DAY!  It’s all about Christmas and Winter projects!  And we KNOW how you LOVE Christmas!  It’s not too early to start planning those gifts and decorating and we have lots of GREAT ideas to help you!  See more information over on Create with Connie and Mary!
