Happy MONDAY!!!  I just LOVE our inspiration challenge.  You just never know how something will inspire you!

So here’s our inspiration picture…

I LOVE the soft look of this!  Okay…so before I show you my card…funny story.  Before I start working on a card for a challenge, I will often look to see if Connie has hers done and loaded into the post.  Sometimes we are just so on the same wavelength.  This was one of those times.  I checked to see if she had hers done and it was a good thing I did before I had gotten started or we pretty much would have had the SAME CARD!  Since I saw her card…I just let this inspiration photo take me in a different direction…

So I was inspired by the words on the background and the Vanilla flower.  I then added the little black dragonfly for the butterfly element.  And isn’t Grapefruit Grove just absolutely YUMMY?

Here’s the details…

  • Grapefruit Grove – 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, folded
  • Share What You Love dsp – 3 3/4 x 5, layer onto Very Vanilla 3 7/8 x 5 1/8, add to card front
  • Basic Black – 1/4 x 4 1/8, add to card front
  • Very Vanilla – punch out two daisies, layer, add to card front
  • Grapefruit Grove – punch out 3/4 circle, add to center of daisy using dimensionals; then a piece 1/2 x 2 1/8, stamp greeting using Memento Black, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Basic Black – cut out little dragonfly, add to center of flower to finish off

Even thought this was my second ‘inspiration’ with this piece I have to say…LOVE IT!

Connie and I have released an AWESOME new collection – Rooted in Nature

Simple is best!  You know me…I love simple cards.  CAS doesn’t have to me a folded piece of cardstock with just an image stamped.  There can definitely be more to it than that but that doesn’t mean it has to be complicated either.  I sometimes have trouble adding ‘more’ to my cards.  As soon as I start adding things it just looks cluttered to me.

Another thing I really like is the Kraft cardstock…I like the color usually much more than the Crumb Cake – it just is a warmer color to me.  So this is my VERY CAS card featuring my favorite new punch (Daisy) and my favorite cardstock (Kraft).

HEre’s the details…

  • Kraft – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Kraft – 4 x 5 1/4, run through the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder and add to card front (I did mine with the back as the front)
  • Crushed Curry – 5/8 x 4 1/4, stamp greeting using Early Espresso, add to card front
  • Whisper White – stamp three leaves using Old Olive, cut out
  • Whisper White – punch out two daisies, layer, add leaves behind daisy, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Crushed Curry – punch out 3/4″ circle, add to center of daisy using dimensionals

And that is all there is…oh so simple.  And speaking of simple…The new Create with Connie and Mary August Mini Edition is now open and it is so simple to subscribe!  Check out the FREE 3D Bonus project, too!

Can you believe it…it’s the END of June already.  I already feel like the summer is flying by too quickly.  I’m working on a really big project at school and would like it to be the beginning of May instead of the end of June so I’d have two more months to work on it!

But that isn’t going to happen but what is happening is more inspiration from Create with Connie and Mary.  We have a set of 4 cards from the catalog this time and the design team members could any of the 4 to use as their inspiration.  I absolutely ADORE the daisy punch and I knew that was what I was going to use to go with the sketch I chose.

Here’s the details…

  • Daffodil Delight – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Daisy Print – cut 5 pieces 3/4 x 4 3/4, add to card front
  • Whisper White – punch out 4 daisies, layer to make 2 flowers
  • Whisper White – stamp solid leaf 4 times using Old Olive, cut out and add behind daisies, add daisies to card front
  • Daffodil Delight – punch out two 3/4″ circles, add to center of daisies using dimensionals
  • Daffodil Delight – 1/2 x 2 3/8, stamp greeting using Memento Black, cut into banner on both ends and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Add some small Clear Faceted Gems to finish off

How fun is that!  Did I mentioned that I just LOVE the new Daisy punch!

Set(s): Daisy Delight
Paper: Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Delightful Daisy dsp
Ink: Memento Black, Old Olive

Oh and what a delight the daisy truly is!  I know as soon as I saw the Delightful Daisy bundle in the new catalog, it was on the top of my MUST HAVE list!  (And apparently just about everyone else too consider Stampin’ Up! had to turn off the ability to order this until they got some more in!)

What I love about this bundle is the you can make the daisy with or without the stamp set.  For my card I wanted to keep my daisy nice and simple so just punched it out.  You all know me…I LOVE cards that are mostly white!

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Delightful Daisy dsp (Old Olive print) – 1 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Whisper White – 3 1/4 x 4 1/2, run through Garden Trellis embossing folder and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Daisy – punch out two daisies from Whisper White and layer, Crushed Curry – punch out 3/4″ circle and add to center of flower using dimensionals, stamp three leaves using Old Olive, cut out and add behind flower, add flower to card front using dimensionals
  • Crushed Curry – cut out the oval Friend from Lovely Words thinlets, trim word from inside oval then add to card front using dimensionals

It’s this just oh so fresh and wonderful?
