Bloom with Hope

Bloom2The CAS challenge is such a great on…May flowers!  How can you resist a great theme like that…I know I couldn’t!

Okay…I will have to say that I cheated just a little bit with this one.  I had the flower done and ‘sitting on top of my desk’.  You all know how much I like to create that way!

I will have to say I struggle a bit with the Coastal Cabana Blendabilities but I think this one turned out pretty good.

Here’s the details –

  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 11 folded.
  • Whisper White – 3 /2 x 4 1/4, run through Decorative Dots Embossing Folder and add to card front.
  • Calypso Coral – 4 1/4 x 1 1/2.  Cut into a banner.  Add a strip of Calypso Coral Chevron dsp 1/4 x 4 1/4.  Stamp greeting using Memento Black.
  • Wrap piece of Coastal Cabana twine around banner and add to card front using dimensionals.  Tie bow with the Coastal Cabana twine and add to banner.
  • Stamp flower using Memento Black ink on Whisper White.  Color flower using Coastal Cabana Blendabilities and center using the Daffodil Delight Blendabilities.  Cut out and add to card front using dimensionals.

Oh…I just love using this set and coloring it in with the Blendabilities…just such fun!

Something Old…Something New

SunflowersAs you know demonstrators were able to order some preview products from the NEW CATALOG!  Oh…I just LOVE this time of year…I have been soooo in need of new stuff to get my creative juices going again.

I was really looking forward to being able to order some of the new Blendabilities and then decided to order on of the new hostess sets so I’d have something cool to color!  I decided to wanted to start with this fun flower (and I got to do LOTS of cutting out…my VERY favorite thing to do.

So…decided to combine my fun new hostess set and blendabilities with some cool things that are retiring and here is what I got.

Here’s the details…

  • Crumb Cake – 3 1/2 x 11 folded
  • Add Large Dotted dsp (Fresh Prints) 3 1/2 x 2 1/3
  • Next add Whisper White 1 1/2 x 3 1/2…stamp greeting using Memento Black ink.  Add some of the Gingham Garden Washi Tape.
  • Stamp the flower 2 times using Memento Black Ink on Whisper White.  Color using the Daffodil Blendabilities and the Skin Tone Blendabilities.  Cut out.
  • Stamp the leaves 2 times using the Memento Black ink and color using the Old Olive Blendabilities.  Cut out.  Add behind the flowers then add the flowers to the card front using dimensionals.  Make sure finished size is no wider than 4 1/4 so it fits into a regular sized envelope.
