Beautiful Day

Happy first day of February everyone!  On month of winter behind us…YAY!!!!

The Create with Connie and Mary Thursday inspiration is a cool color challenge and I decided to celebrate being one month closer to spring with the cool butterfly from Beautiful Day (well…that and the fact that I had this butterfly done and sitting on top of my desk!).

Here’s the details…

  • Calypso Coral – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded; stamp the dots using Caylpso Coral
  • Painted with Love dsp – two strips 1/4 x 5 1/4, add to card front top one aligned left, bottom one aligned right
  • Whisper White – 3 1/4 x 4 1/4, stamp celebrate in Melon Mambo and Let’s in Rich Razzleberry
  • Gold Foil – 3 x 1/2, add behind right side of panel and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Vellum – stamp butterfly using Versamark, gold emboss, color the BACK of vellum using Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo and Calypso Coral markers, cut out and add to card front

Really pretty easy card…ESPECIALLY when you already have the butterfly done and sitting on top of your desk!

Well…it a great day today…time for a NEW Connie and Mary Collection!  This time it’s Bubble Over!

Beautiful You

What an EASY theme we have for the SUO Challenge this time.  Our theme is feminine and there is just sooooo many different ways you can go with this!

With this theme the first thing that came to mind was the Beautiful You set.  It is just such a pretty set and oh so feminine.  With everything going on this month, I have been keeping things nice and simple and this one is oh so simple!

Here’s the details…

  • Peek-a-boo Peach – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 5 1/2, stamp female image in Peek-a-boo Peach, greeting in Night of Navy, and dots using Soft Sky
  • Night of Navy diagonal Stripe dsp – 5/8 x 5 1/2, add to back of Whisper White Panel, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Add some Basic Rhinestones to finish off

Weather Together

One set that I just HAD to have when the last new catalog came out was the Weather Together set.  I just LOVE the umbrella in this!

I have used the umbrella on a couple different cards but as I was working on getting some cards together for this month I decided I wanted to us this one (okay…that and I had already packed away a lot of my stuff and this was one I left out).  I thought it would be pretty in the colors in the Cupcakes & Carousels dsp paper stack.

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 4 x 5 1/4, stamp greeting using Basic Black and Bermuda Bay, run through Falling Petals Embossing Folder, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Three prints from Cupcakes & Carousel dsp paper stack (So Saffron print, Peek-a-boo Peach print, Bermuda Bay print) – stamp umbrella using Memento Black, cut out using mating framelit
  • So Saffron, Peek-a-boo Peach, Bermuda Bay – stamp umbrella handle using Memento Black, cut out with matching framelit.  I wanted the handle to be longer so I cut each into two pieces and then extended the handles when I taped to back of each umbrella., layer and add to card front using dimensionals

Love the pretty soft colors on this!

Beautiful You

So I had this idea for a quick and easy card using one of my favorite sets – Beautiful You!  I wanted to do a ‘watercoloring’ kind of card and since I’m not all that good at watercoloring I used the technique where you wet the paper (LOVE using the Shimmery White for this) then stamping an image (I used one from Happy Celebrations) and let it fun for that watercolor look!  Although this is a quick and easy look…you do have to make sure your ‘watercoloring’ is nice and dry before you do do the stamping on top of it!

Here’s the details…

  • Shimmery White – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Shimmery White – 3 3/4 x 5, wet the paper and stamp the one image from Happy Celebrations in Flirty Flamingo, Peek-a-boo Peach, Daffodil Delight, Cucumber Crush, Pool Party (and finish with Flirty Flamingo again).  Set aside and let dry (I waited over night).
  • Stamp image and greeting using Memento Black, add panel to card front using dimensionals
  • Take the backing  off 5 small Perfect White Accents and add using Tombow Glue

Spring Flowers

We had so much rain in March and the weather was so warm that we are having terrific Spring Flowers!  And that is the theme for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Blog Hop.

I just LOVE flower stamps and I REALLY love the Special Reason set!

Now doesn’t this just make you smile?  I know it did me!  Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 3/4 x 5
  • Whisper White – stamp large flower with Peek-a-boo Peach and second with Peek-a-boo Peach with Tangerine Tango sponged in the middle and other with Flirty Flamingo and second with Flirty Flamingo with Melon Mambo sponged in the middle, stamp leaves in Pear Pizzazz, cut everything out with matching framelits and inside flower by hand, layer everyting and add to card front (pink flower added using dimensionals)
  • Stamp greeting using Night of Navy, add panel to card front using dimensionals
  • Add Night of Navy Enamel dots
  • Night of Navy – cut out TWO flower centers using Stylish Stems thinlet, add to flower centers

Isn’t that nice and simple and oh so spring!  It sure is!

Weather Together

This time the SUO challenge theme is A Favorite April theme.  As soon as I saw that, I thought April Showers.  I just love the Weather Together set and just haven’t used it enough (sure hope it doesn’t retire!).  The umbrella was perfect for an April Showers theme!

I didn’t want to use any of the greetings that came with the set but LOVE the greeting from Beautiful you and it worked just perfectly with my card.  It looks so good with in different colors!

Here’s the details…

  • Soft Sky – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – stamp greeting using Basic Black and Rich Razzleberry, stamp raindrop in Sof Sky
  • Succulent Garden dsp (Calypso Coral print) – 1/2 x 5 1/2, add behind right side Whisper White panel
  • Sweet Sugarplum – 1/2 x 5 1/2, add behind left side, Whisper White panel, add panel to card front
  • Succulent Garden dsp (flower print) – stamp umbrell using Memento Black, cut out
  • Basic Grey – cut out handle (I cut into pieces to I can make longer) add to back of umbrella
  • Sweet Sugarplum – cut out umbrella handle, add to umbrella, add umbrella to card front using dimensionals
  • Add some Basic Rhinestones to finish off

Beautiful You

Okay…so I promised a total of 3 CAS cards using the overall same design yet using all the main images in the Beautiful You set.

This is my third, and final car din my set.  Have I mentioned how much I LOVE this look.  It is just so simple but the pretty colors really pop on the mostly white card.

I also think one of the things that really help make these cards pop is the fun enamel dots!

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 (yes, I know this is NOT the standard layer size), stamp woman using Smoky Slate and greeting using Pool Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry
  • Stamp umbrella onto the Sweet Sugarplum Incolor Envelope print using Memento Black, cut out and add to image
  • Layer onto Bermuda Bay 3 5/8 x 4 5/8, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Add enamel dots – Bermuda Bay, Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry

Okay…so here is my second card using a VERY CAS design and the fabulous Beautiful You set.

I wanted to come up with a design that is so very simple yet really stylish and works with the 3 main images in this set.  This one just makes me happy!  I love greeting perfect…it really makes me smile.

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it, but my husband and I are working on downsizing our home and belongings and moving to a smaller place south of Dayton.  After 26 years in our home…it’s just a tad bit overwhelming.  ESPECIALLY since our current city only permits you to have ONE trash can!  But anyway…working on downsizing is quite a task…especially my crafting area.

For my card set for Create with Connie and Mary March Mini Edition I was going to use the set Beautiful You but then decided to go with Happy Celebrations (oh my…what a FABULOUS SET!).  Anyway I had this series of cards all planned out in my head and since I wanted to share some cards with you, I thought I’d make up this little series of CAS cards.  This designed turned out PERFECT for the Beautiful You set.  So stayed turned…I have a total of 3 cards and this is my first one.

Now don’t blink…here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 (yes, I know this is NOT the standard layer size), stamp woman using Smoky Slate an greeting using Pool Bermuda Bay, Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry
  • Layer onto Sweet Sugarplum 3 5/8 x 4 5/8, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Add enamel dots – Bermuda Bay, Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry

Yep…it is truly that easy but so TOTALLY CAS!

I’ve been ‘itching’ to use my new Beautiful You set and thought these colors would be perfect for it and I do like the way this turned out.  I think this would brighten anyone’s day.
