Balloon Bash

CCMC350Happy Thursday everyone!  Since it is Thursday, it is time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge and this week we have a fun color challenge for you – Night of Navy, Calypso Coral, and Crushed Curry.  How great are those!

I decided I wanted to pair up the Birthday Bash set with Gorgeous Grunge set to make a fun and happy birthday card!

Here’s the details –

  • Crushed Curry – 4 1/4 x 11 folded,
  • Balloon Bash Specialty dsp (Crushed Curry dotted) – 5/8 x 5 1/2 , add to left side of card base.
  • Whisper White – 3 5/8 x 5 1/2.  Stamp larger splatter using Crushed Curry and smaller in Calypso Coral.
  • Night of Navy 1/2 x 5 1/2 – cut TWO and add one to each side of panel.  Add panel to card base using dimensionals.
  • Stamp balloons using Night of Navy, cut out and add to card base using dimensionals
  • Stamp the celebrate banner twice – once using Night of Navy and once using Calypso Coral, cut out, layer and add using dimensionals.
  • Add some Basic Rhinestones to finish it off.

SUO119aIt’s time for another SUO challenge and our theme this time is Fun Folds.  Hmmm…what to do what to do?  I was a little stumped by this one but then had some fun playing around with multiple folds within the card with cutouts through the top so you can see through all the layers.  Yep…that worked for me!  I thought you’d like to see how this opens up so here’s some extra photos…

SUO119b SUO119c SUO119dHere’s the first (left side) flap opened.

Here’s the second (right side) flap opened.

And finally – here it is with the inside flap opened.

Here’s some details –

  • Night of Navy – 4 1/8 x 8 1/2 folded (yes…that is 4 1/8 NOT 4 1/4).
  • Calypso Dotted and special confetti dsp 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 folded then cut the ends using Oval framelit.
  • Layer the confetti print to the INSIDE back of the Night of Navy piece
  • Layer the Calypso Coral dotted printed to the BACK of the Night of Navy piece.
  • Fold Night of Navy piece down then the right flap then the left one.
  • Punch out a 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle punch and add it to the left (dotted) flap – positioning it where you want – punch out.
  • Use Circle Framelit for side INSIDE the 1 3/4″ Scallop circle and cut out one for a pattern.  With the left flap folded down, place the circle cut out piece, then add framelit on top (FLAP OPEN!!!) and run through Big Shot to cut out.
  • Now decorate however yous want.  I did Balloon Bash and just had a lot of fun layer things for how they shown through the openings.

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see which one they picked!

SUO116aIt’s time for another SUO challenge and this time our theme is to make a Shaped Card!

I don’t do that enough…make a shaped card but I have to say, I really had fun making this one!  Not only did I make a shaped card but I also did something I haven’t done in FOREVER…I made it a shaker card!

Here’s the details…

  • Crushed Curry – 5 x 8 folded, cut using largest star framelit, this will allow it to have a folded section
  • Crushed Curry – 5 x 5, cut using largest star framelit, add to front of Crushed Curry base so that the front is a full star.
  • Crushed Curry – 4 x 4, cut out using the 2nd and 3rd to largest star framelits stacked together so that you create a frame
  • Window sheet – 4 x 4, cut out using 2nd to largest star and add behind frame.  Add dimensionals around the back side of the frame on the window sheet.
  • Punch out Night of Navy and Gold Foil stars using the Star Border Punch.  Add to the enter of card base then add the star frame/window sheet on top of it.
  • Stamp star balloon using Night of Navy, cut out and add to card base.
  • Stamp Celebrate Banner using Bermuda Bay, Cut out and add to card front using dimensionals.

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see which one they picked!

Week 3 Blog Hop

OCC15HopWelcomeIt’s just AMAZING!!!  We have come to the end of Week 3 for Create with Connie and Mary Spring Collections 2015!  This past week was all about cards so our blog hop today is going to be a little different…each designer will share a small favor to go along with the stamp set we used for our cards.  If you are going forward through the hop you arrived here from my friend and partner Connie Babbert and her Inkspired Treasures blog.  Connie just LOVES doing little things like this and she is sooooo good!

Wk3FavorI have to say…I LOVED making my little favor but I had a devil of a time getting a picture of it!  I think the Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim being so shiny is what caused the problem!

But seriously…this is just sooo quick and easy.  Okay…it’s quick and easy if all you have to do is make the cone because ALL THE OTHER PIECES were done and sitting on top of your desk from other things you were doing!  LOL!!!

Here’s the details –

  • Confetti print (Birthday Bash dsp) – 6 x 6.  Fold into a cone then fold done the top flap.  You could always leave that up and the it would hold more treats!
  • Crushed Curry – 2 1/2″ circle punch
  • Stamp balloons on Whisper White:  Striped/Calypso Coral, Stars/Night of Navy, YAY/versamark and gold embossed.  Cut out.
  • Stamp celebrate banner on Whisper White, cut out.
  • Layer all stamped pieces together and add to 2 1/2″ Crushed Curry circle using dimensionals.
  • Add Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim behind circle and add to cone favor.

It’s that just FUN?  SOOOOO easy to make and great for so many occasions!

TSSC352Happy Monday Everyone!  WOW…FEBRUARY!!!  The BEST thing about February…getting closer to SPRING!!!  Hoping that weather isn’t too bad this month although sometimes it can really be a bit challenging!  And cold…REALLY cold!!!  and I HATE cold!

But Mary Jo has a FABULOUS sketch for us and I did a little twist (literally) on my card.  Between the balloon framelits and the FUN Birthday Bash dsp…there is just sooo much you can do!

Here’s the details…

  • Crushed Curry – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Balloon Bash dsp – 4 1/4 x 1, add to card base
  • Whisper White – 2 7/8 x 4 1/8.  Add strip of confetti multicolor paper 2 7/8 x 1 1/4.  Layer onto Night of Navy 3 x 4 1/4.
  • Calypso Coral – cut out balloon using framelit, run through Lucky Stars Embossing Folder and add using dimensionals.  Draw balloon string using Basic Black marker.
  • Gold 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon – wrap around panel then add to card front on an angle using dimensionals.
  • Stamp celebrate banner (Balloon Bash) using Bermuda Bay and add using dimensionals to finish off.
