Season Like Christmas

WOW…only 6 more days until THE BIG DAY!  I hope all of you are ready.

We always keep things pretty low-keyed during the holiday.  We decided our new house was our Christmas present to each other…it was a good one too!  LOL!!

Since it is Tuesday, it’s time for another SUO Challenge.  The theme this time is our favorite Christmas image.  For me that was an easy one…a Christmas tree!

Here’s the details…

  • Tranquil Tide – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Season of Cheer dsp – 3 3/4 x 5, add to card front
  • Gold Glimmer – two pieces – one 1/4 x 4 3/4 and one 1/4 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Tranquil Tide – stamp stem using Memento Black, stamp tree using Versamark and white emboss, let cool, stamp dots using Versamark and gold emboss, cut out using Stitched Oval and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Gold 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon, tie piece into a bow and add to top of oval
  • Stamp greeting in Tranquil Tide on Whisper White, cut into a banner, layer onto another banner from Gold foil; add to card front using dimensionals

Tags and Trimmings

It’s time again for another SUO challenge and our first one in December!  The theme for this challenge is favorite holiday colors and I went pretty traditional with this – red and green.

To me the BEST Christmas color is Cherry Cobbler.  It is such a pretty, rich red and perfect for this time of year.

Here’s the details –

  • Cherry Cobbler – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 3/4 x 5, add to card
  • Stamp greeting in Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green
  • Whisper White – stamp large holly leaf 8 times in Garden Green, cut out and make into a wreath on card
  • Gold Glimmer – cut out three sprigs from Pretty Pines thinlets and add to wreath
  • Cherry Cobbler – cut out small bow from Pretty Pines thinlets and add to wreath
  • Perfect White Accents – color using Cherry Cobbler darker Blend and add to wreath to finish off

Yes…it is this set AGAIN!  What can I say…I LOVE holly and of all the holly images SU has offered over the years, you really can’t beat this one!

The SUO challenge this time was celebrate any winter holiday.  So I went with Christmas (shocker) and a nice generic celebrate the season greeting.

We made this in my craft group last week and it is one of those nice and easy cards!

Here’s the details…

  • Cherry Cobbler – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 5/8 x 4 7/8, add to card front
  • Add Silver Foil Snowflake to card front
  • Be Merry Dsp  – 1 x 4, add to card front
  • Whisper White – stamp greeting using Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green, cut out using layering oval
  • Garden Green – cut out matching scallop oval, add stamped oval and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Whisper White – stamp holly in Garden Green and button in Cherry Cobbler, cut out, layer and add to card front to finish off.

See…nice and easy!  Hmm….maybe I should make a couple more.  I think this is the perfect card to send to my new neighbors.

Gourd Goodness

Are you ready for Thanksgiving?  Can you believe it is only 3 days away!

We had our Brown family Thanksgiving yesterday…absolutely crazy!  I had to bring a side and decided to do a corn casserole that I could make in the crock pot.  Found a nice easy recipe on Pinterest of course!  For actual Thanksgiving day, we are having lasagna!  LOL!!

I have enjoyed using using my Gourd Goodness set and decided to use it with the yummy Painted Autumn dsp.

Here’s the details…

  • Soft Sky – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Painted Autumn dsp – multicolored grid – 1 x 5 1/2, add to card front
  • Soft Sky – 3 1/2 x 5 1/2, add Doily then add to card front using dimensionals
  • Cajun Craze – 1/8 x 5 1/2, add to card front
  • Very Vanilla – stamp large pumpkin using Peek-a-boo Peach and Tangerine Tango, small pumpkin using Soft Sky and Marina Mist, stems using Crumb Cake and Soft Suede, leaves using Wild Wasabi and Cajun Craze, cut out, layer and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Very Vanilla – stamp greeting using Early Espresso, punch out Classic Punch and add using dimensionals

Floral Statements

It’s time again for another SUO challenge and this time our theme is “And We Give Thanks”…using Thanks on our card.

One think SU has a lot of is stamps with the word THANKS.  I had wanted to get this stamp set since the new catalog came out but with a choice of regular markers and pencils, I could see investing in it.  When we had the opportunity to preorder the new Blends, this set was a MUST HAVE for me!

Here’s the details…

  • Daffodil Delight – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Merry Little Christmas dsp – Old Olive print – 2 x 5 1/2 add to card freont
  • Merry Little Christmas dsp – Basic Black Leaf print – 1/2 x 5 1/2, add to card front
  • Whisper White – 3 5/8 x 4 7/8, stamp image in Memento Black and color with Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Blends, layer onto Basic Black 3 3/4 x 5, add to card front using dimensionals

Sweet Home

So it’s time again for the SUO challenge and this time our theme was Something Sweet.  Well this time of year when I hear something sweet…I think “Trick or Treat…Something Sweet” so I went with Trick or Treat!  LOL!!!

I didn’t get any of the Halloween sets this year (well…I did get the pumpkins) but that didn’t do it for me.  I was looking through my catalog and came across this set…PERFECT!

Here’s the details…

  • Pumpkin Pie – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Spooky Night dsp dotted print – 1/2 x 4 1/2 – add on a diagonal and trim ends
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 stamp dot in Pumpkin Pie and Peek-a-boo Peach, stamp row of three dots in Memento Black, layer onto Basic Black – 3 5/8 x 4 7/8, add to card front
  • Stamp ghost 2 times and bat 3 times in Memento Black, cut out and add (ghosts using dimensionals)
  • Crumb Cake – stamp banner and greeting in Memento Black, cut out and add using dimensionals
  • Add some Silver Metallic Enamel Stars to finish off

How’s that for something sweet!

Tags and Trimmings

It’s that time again…time for another challenge from the folks at the SUO challenge site!  This time it is an easy theme – Favorite Holiday Mini item.  Well that is always a REALLY DIFFICULT one to narrow it down to only 1!  Well…I couldn’t really do that so I used a couple favorite things!

So this card has my favorite new embossing folder and my very favorite set of framelits.  You put those together and you get this cool CAS card!

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 5/8 x 4 7/8, run through the Winter Wonder Embossing Folder then layer onto Real Red 3 3/4 x 5 and add to card front
  • Stamp greeting using Basic Grey
  • Silver Foil – cut out snowflake
  • Fold piece of 1/8″ Solid Real Red ribbon then add to card front
  • Real Red – Cut out stitched heart and add to card front.

Yep…that’s all there is to it…nice and CAS!
