A Little Something

CandyCanes1Oh…today is such a good day!  Why you ask?  Well…today is the opening day of Create with Connie and Mary October Mini Session!  WOOO HOOO!!!!

Since our October Mini Session is a mixture of both Fall and Christmas, I decided to do a fun little Christmas card to celebrate today.

I was looking around for a challenge to use and found this fabulous sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch and thought how CUTE it would look in Candy Canes!  NAILED IT!  LOL!!!  I do think it REALLY turned out CUTE!

Here’s the details…

  • Real Red – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 3/8 x 5 1/2
  • Stamp candy cane (A Little Something) 9 times using Real Red and cut out using the Candy Cane from the Square Pillow Box Framelit.  Stamp holly (Snow Place) 9 times using Real Red and Garden Green markers, cut out using the matching Snow Friends Framelits.  Add holly to candy canes.  Lay on Whisper White panel just for placement then stamp greeting using Garden Green.  Now add the cut out Candy Canes.
  • Striped Garden Green dsp (Regals dsp paper pack) – 3/4 x 5 1/2, add behind panel then add panel using dimensionals.

See…that was as easy as can be!  Speaking of easy…if you want some GREAT ideas for Fall and Christmas, it is EASY to subscribe to the Create with Connie and Mary October Mini Session!

Howl-o-ween Treat

Howl-o-weenTreatWhat can I saw…I absolutely LOVE this little (well actually not so little!) owl!  As I work on projects I tend to have extra ‘pieces’ leftover (I know I’ve mentioned that before) and tend to have them sititng on my desk.  So if I need to come up with a card quick, I clean off my desk, find my leftover pieces and make a card from them.  Most of these were leftover except the base and two extra panels.

Here’s the details…

  • Rich Razzleberry – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Basic Black – 3 5/8 x 4 7/8, add to card base on an angle.
  • Smoky Slate – 3 1/2 x 4 3/4, run through the Woodland Embossing Folder, using the White Gel Pen to dd accents to the tree trunks and add to card base on an angle.
  • Whisper White – punch 2 1/2″ circle and add to card base.
  • Black Glimmer – 3/8 x 5 1/2, add to card base.
  • Stamp owl in Rich Razzleberry on Whisper White, cut out, add to card front.  Punch out two 1/4″ circles from Black Glimmer and add to eyes.
  • Whisper White Thick Cardstock – cut out ‘BOO’ and add using dimensionals.

Such an easy card…especially when you use the things from on top of your desk.  I do like the simple color scheme.

It won’t be long now until the Create with Connie and Mary September Mini Session will be ready for you.  Stay tuned for more details!

I Think You’re Great

New2Do you spend a lot of time on Pinterest pinning GREAT inspiration vowing that you are going to copy all these wonderful projects and well…your boards keep getting bigger but you have not started copying yet?

Well…since summer is here and I’m only teaching 2 classes this summer I’ve decided to start to copy some of the great pieces that I pinned.  Now by copy I mean that the some of the elements are there but that I’ve changed things to make the project Stampin’ Up! and put my one spin on it.  May card that I am copying can be found here.  You can see that mostly I copied the circle elements that were on there.

Here’s the details –

  • Basic Grey – 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Very Vanilla – 3 5/8 x 3 5/8, layer onto Basic Black 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 and add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Hello Honey – cut bigger circle by layering 2 Circle Framelits, offsetting the inside one and then punching another using the 1 3/4 Circle Punch.  Add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Silver Glimmer – cut larger star using Star Framelits and punch out the 3 smaller stars using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack star.  Add all to the card front using dimensionals.
  • Stamp the greeting using Versamark on Very Vanilla, black emboss, cut out and color the ‘to go!’ using Hello Honey marker.  Add to card front using dimensionals.

Is that just a fun card?  I LOVED the original one which I pinned for inspiration and am soo glad I went back and finally got around to copying it!
