Fun Edge Card

Welcome to another FUN Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Saturday Blog Hop!  And speaking of FUN our theme for this week is a card with a FUN edge (not the regular straight edges.  Well…I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do with this one!

I LOVE the edge in the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlets and knew I wanted to use that to create my fun edge but that I didn’t want it with snowflakes.  With October right around the corner, I pulled out my Support Ribbon Framelits and Ribbon of Courage set to pair with it.  Here’s the details…

  • Flirty Flamingo – 4 1/4 x 11, fold at 5 1/2 leaving the front flap 4 1/2 long
  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, cut the bottom edge using the Swirly Snowflake edge and add to card front
  • Smoky Slate – 1/4 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Flirty Flamingo – cut out three flowers from the Support Ribbon Framelit set, add to card front
  • Stamp greeting using Smoky Slate
  • Add Perfect White Accents to the center of each flower to finish off.

Here’s a picture of it closed so you can see how the inside of the card shows through.

How AWESOME is that!

Teeny Tiny Wishes

Happy Tuesday!  Can you believe it’s the last Tuesday in September!  WOW…October starts on Sunday!

This week the theme for the SUO challenge is Shape Up!  Favorite Punch or Die.  Well…there are just WAAAAY too many from which to choose.  So, since I just cleaned my stamping area, I went with my method of “use what it on top of my desk”.  Well I happened to have 4 punched out cats and a strip of Silver Glimmer.  What can I say…it basically made itself.

Here’s the details…

  • Pumpkin Pie – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Very Vanilla – 3 5/8 x 4 7/8, stamp greeting using Memento Black, layer onto Basic Black 3 3/4 x 5, add to card front
  • Silver Glimmer – 1/4 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Crushed Curry – punch out 2″ circle, add to card front
  • Punch cat – 2 from Spooky Night dsp, 1 from Basic Black, 1 from Pumpkin Pie, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Add some Black Rhinestones to finish off

See how super easy that was!  I LOVE easy!

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see their wonderful creations!

One Layer Card

Welcome everyone!  It’s time again for another Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Saturday Blog Hop!  These are always such fun!  This week it is right up my alley…1 layer card (so VERY CAS!)  Usually I like adding a panel on the base…I just like the way that looks but since this is one layer (with embellishments of course) that is what I did!

This would definitely be one of the those kind of cards where you could do a bunch of these up.  The snowflakes are from the Seasonal Layers Thinlets and the MERRY & BRIGHT is from the Hearts come Home set.  The ONLY corner punch though we have anymore is the envelope makers…GEEZ!  On a super simple card like this, rounding the bottom corners really steps it up a bit.

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 11 folded, stamp greeting using Versamark and Copper Emboss, round bottom corners using envelope punch board
  • Champaign Foil – cut out largest snowflake, add to card front
  • Gold Foil – cut out medium snowflake, add to card front
  • Copper Foil – cut out smallest snowflake, add to card front

Okay…hope you didn’t blink…that really is all there is to this one!  Now you have time to subscribe to Create with Connie and Mary September Mini Edition!
