Special Reason

I soooo like this new set – Special Reason.  The flowers are just such a cool shape and with the Stylish Stems thinlets, you get so many options for using this.

This week the inspiration for Create with Connie and Mary is a cool color combo – So Saffron, Sweet Sugarplum and Mint Macaron.

I was going through my dsp looking for something I could use and found some prints in the So Succulent dsp that would work.  So I started with that and built my card front there.

Here’s the details…

  • So Saffron – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Sweet Sugarplum Gingham print – 1 1/2 x 4 1/2, add to card front
  • Mint Succulent print – 3/4 x 4 1/2, ad to card front
  • Silver Glimmer – 1/4 x 4, cut on angles and add to card front
  • Whisper White – cut out largest Stitched Oval, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Whisper White – stamp large flower in So Saffron, small flower in Sweet Sugarplum and large and small leaves in Mint Macaron, cut all out, layer and add to card front
  • Whisper White – 1/2 x 2, stamp greeting using Basic Grey Archival, cut into a banner on both ends, add using dimensionals
  • Add some Basic Rhinestones to finish off

Pun Intended

It’s Thursday again and you know what that means…it’s time for another inspiration from Create with Connie and Mary.  This week we have a GREAT (and very easy) sketch.

I haven’t used my Pun Intended set for awhile now (and with the weather around here anymore it seems like one big joke!) I thought it would be a great idea to use it.  You also know that since it is a hostess set, it will be gone when the catalog retires!

Here’s the details…

  • Real Red – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded, stamp the heart in Real Read along the bottom 1/4 of the card front
  • Silver Glimmer – 1/4 x 5 1/2, add to card front
  • Whisper White – three 1 1/4 x 3 3/4, stamp light bulb using Memento Black, color with Daffodil Delight Marker and add each to card front using dimensionals
  • Whisper White – stamp the little hear three times using Real Red, cut out and add using dimensionals
  • Daffodil Delight – stamp greeting using Real Red, punch out using the Classic Label Punch, trim off one end and add using dimensionals
  • Add small Basic Rhinestones to finish off.

Oh how simple and what a fun idea for the hostess set.  If you are looking for ideas for the Occasions Mini, then the Create with Connie and Mary March Mini Edition is for you!

Our mini sessions include the instructions for 14 projects with full step-by-step tutorials:

High Tide

I decided it was time that I buy the new High Tide set.  I LOVE lighthouses but for some reason decided I didn’t NEED this set.  I did keep looking at it and finally decided the time had come.

I have  wonderful group of women that meet every month and we always make a couple cards.  I decided yesterday morning that I wanted to do a card with this set with them and came up with this idea.  I wanted to use some of my By the Shore dsp since, as we all know, that paper will be going away in the next catalog.  I was really happy with how it turned out and the ladies enjoyed it too!

Here’s the details…

  • Sahara Sand – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Sahara Sand – 4 x 5 1/4, wrap piece of Night of Navy Bakers Twine around the panel and add to card front
  • Calypso Coral Starfish dsp – 2 1/4 x 4 1/2 add to card front using dimensionals
  • Dapper Denim wide strip dsp – 3 x 2 3/4, add to card front
  • Very Vanilla – 2 1/4 x 3 1/2, stamp lighthouse using Calypso Coral, greeting using Dapper Denim, sand using Sahara Sand, ‘light’ using So Saffron, add to card front using dimensionals

Isn’t that AWESOME!  I think it is very cool indeed.
