Tour de Freak December 2016

freakwelcome2013Hello everyone and welcome to the December Tour de Freaks Blog Hop!  As demonstrators we just LOVE NEW STUFF and that is what this month’s hop is all about…NEW STUFF!!!!  If you are going forward through the hop you arrived here from Amy Koenders Blog.

There are so many things in the occasions mini that I just LOVE and trying to pick something was difficult.  My DH’s birthday was on the 16th and I needed to make him a card and decided to use that (since I used NEW STUFF) and add a little treat box.

Here’s the card (and my DH thought it was COOL…especially the new hexagon embossing folder)

brithday1

This is really a pretty easy card.  Here’s the details..

  • Delightful Dijon – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Basic Black – 3 7/8 x 5 1/8, add to card front
  • Very Vanillia – 3 3/4 x 5, run through the Hexagon Dynamic Embossing Folder and add to card front (Look MUCH cooler in real life!)
  • Dijon print – 1 3/4 x 4, add to card front
  • Urban Underground Washi Tape – add two strips to card front
  • Cut our larger stars from the Urban Underground Black/Silver dsp and Silver Folder, smaller star from the Vanilla/Black tiny dot and Delightful Dijon, layer and add to card front
  • Very Vanilla – stamp banner in Memento Black and greeting in Delightful Dijon, cut out and add to card front using dimensionals
 Set(s): Balloon Adventure
Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Delightful Dijon, Urban Underground dsp, Silver Foil
Ink: Memento Black, Delightful Dijon
Other: Urban Dynamics Embossing Folder, Urban Underground Washi Tape, Stars Framelits, Dimensionals

Then I decided to make a little treat box.  This is the snap close treat box but I made mine smaller.

This is the front and the back so you can see what I did with it.

  • Delightful Dijon – 3 3/4 x 5 1/2 (you can find videos online on how to make these), run through the Hexagon Dynamics Emboss Folder and put together, round corners on top
  • Silver Glimmer – 1/2 x 2 1/2, add to top
  • Add strip of the Vanilla/Black diagonal strip – 1/2 x 3
  • Stamp Balloon and strings using Memento Black on Very Vanilla, color with Smoky Slate and Delightful Dijon markers, punch out out layer onto diagonal strip, add to box front using double dimensionals
  • Basic Black – 3/8 x 2, stamp greeting using Versamark and silver emboss, cut into banner on both end an add to box.
 Set(s): Balloon Adventure
Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Delightful Dijon, Urban Underground dsp, Silver Glimmer

Cookie Cutter Christmas

cookiecutterxmas2Okay…almost caught up on the Christmas cards I have made!  DANG…I made a bunch of cards this year!

One of the funny things about making cards for classes and my group is that by the time I do all of these, I have enough Christmas cards to send out.  Now that isn’t funny but what is funny is that no two people get the same card!  I just have to figure out who gets which card…LOL!!!

Here’s the details…

  • Crumb Cake – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Crumb Cake – 4 x 5 1/4, run through the Cable Embossing folder and add to card front
  • Real Red – 3 x 3 5/8, add to card front
  • Whisper White – 3 1/4 x 3 1/4, stamp greeting using Soft Suede, add to card front
  • Candy  Cane Lane dsp – Peppermint print 3 5/8 x 3/4, cut into banner and add to card front, red multi-color print – 3 1/4 x 1/2, cut into banner and add to card front
  • Whisper White – stamp gingerbread man using Soft Suede, punch out and add to card front using dimensionals, stamp bow using Real Red, punch out and add to gingerbread man
 Set(s): Coolie Cutter Christmas
Paper: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Real Red, Candy Cane Lane dsp
Ink: Soft Suede, Real Red
Other: Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Cable Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

ccmc437-2Well…this is going to the be last Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge before Christmas.  To give our fabulous design team a break, we are going to fun this challenge for 2 weeks.  This week it’s a fun sketch challenge.

I thought the challenge would be perfect for the Christmas Pine set and then realized that my friend Lisa and I had almost IDENTICAL cards so I did this card (which I LOVE) and then realized the Tracy used the same set – but ours do look different!  Oh well…sticking with this one…I did take a LITTLE artistic interpretation with it!

Santa’s Sleigh

santassleightreesDid I mention yet how much I LOVE the Santa Sleigh bundle?  No…seriously I really do!  I think the tree is the most perfect Christmas tree SU had ever had!  I like the tall slender look of the tree and really you can just use the framelit and don’t need to stamp it!

This was another card that I did at the last minute for my stamping group.  I wanted to go for a bit of a ‘homespun’ look and I think the Warmth & Cheer dsp really lends itself to that.

Here’s the details…

  • Wild Wasabi – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Fancy Frost Specialty dsp – 2 1/2 x 5 1/2
  • Garden Green – 3/8 x 5 1/2, add behind the Fancy Frost panel and add to card front
  • Gold Foil – cut out tree – add to card front
  • Gold glimmer – 3 7/8 x 1 1/8, rip and add to card front
  • Whisper White – 3 7/8 x 1 1/8, stamp greeting using Garden Green, rip along top and add to card front
  • Warmth & Cheer Plaid print – cut out Christmas Tree and add using dimensionals
  • Gold Foil – cut out bow and add to green plaid tree
  • Add some some Gold Metallic Dots to tree and Gold Metallic Stars
 Set(s): Santa’s Sleigh
Paper: Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Warmth & Cheer dsp Paper Stack, Fancy Frost Specialty Paper, Gold Foil
Ink: Garden Green
Other: Santa Sleigh Framelits, Metallic Enamel Shapes, Dimensionals

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!
