Cookie Cutter Christmas

cookiecutterxmas1I thought that I’d share a card that we did for my stamping group.  I love the Cookie Cutter Christmas set and wanted to have some fun with it, the Candy Cane Lane suite, and the cable embossing folder.

This is really a fun and easy card and love the touches of washi tape.  I took all the washi tape from this pack with me and each person could pick which ever ones they wanted for their card.  I love how easy the punch is to use.

Here’s the details…

  • Real Red – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Crumb Cake – 4 x 4 5/8, run through the Cable Embossing folder, sponge some Crumb Cake on the raised areas, add to card front and trim off corners, add some washi tape to the top and bottom
  • Striped Candy Cane Lane dsp – 3 5/8 x 3/4, cut into banner and add to card front
  • Whisper White – cut out Lots of Labels piece, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Stamp Gingerbread man using Soft Suede, punch out, add using dimensionals, stamp bow in Real Red, punch out and add to gingerbread man
  • Real Red – 1/2 x 2 7/8, stamp greeting using Momento Black, cut into banner and add using dimensionals
Set(s): Cookie Cutter Christmas
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Crumb Cake, Candy Cane Lane dsp
Ink: Momento Black, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Real Red

Thoughtful Banners

falltreeDo you ever have an idea for a card in your mind and you just HAVE to make it?

I just love the Halloween Scenes edgelits and am sad that Halloween is over.  I wanted to find another way to use the fun tree in there and decided to pair the tree with a bunch of different sized circles and see what happened.  Personally I don’t like when the ‘leaves’ are just behind the tree so I did some different layering to get the look I wanted.

Here’s the details…

  • Cajun Craze – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Cajun/Mint print – 5/8 x 5 1/2, cut two add one to the left side of the card
  • Whisper White – 2 3/4 x 5 1/2, run the top 3/4 through the Seaside Embossing Folder, add the second piece of the Cajun/Mint print behind the left side and add to card front
  • Basic Black – 2 3/4 x 3 1/4, cut out tree
  • Cajun/Mint print – 1 3/4 circle, Mint Macaron – 1 1/2 and 1 circles, Cajun Craze – two 1 1/4 circles, layer these together BEHIND the tree then add tree to card front using dimensionals
  • Garden Green – two 3/4″ circles, Cajun Craze – three 1/2″ circles, and Gold Foil – four 1/2″ circles, add these to the FRONT of the tree
  • Mint Macaron – stamp banner and greeting using Momento Black, Punch with the Duet Banner punch, add using dimensionals

You know…it’s still not too late for fall AND it’s not too late to subscribe to the Create with Connie and Mary November Mini Edition for some GREAT last minute Christmas ideas and December for NEW Occasions Mini ideas!  Subscribe to BOTH November AND December and get a great bonus project!

CreateFA15HopWelcome

Yep…it’s time for our second Christmas theme for the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Saturday Blog Hop.  This week it is movement cards and I decided to go with a shaker card.  This was one I did as a make and take with my stamping group and really loved the way it turned out!

sathopshaker

It’s sooooo hard to get a good shot of a shaker card so that all the little pieces aren’t at the bottom – LOL!!!  I ended up laying this one down to show the ‘shaker stuff’ better!

Here’s the details…

  • Pool Party – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Sweet Sugarplum – 3 3/4 x 5, add to card front
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 4 3/4, stamp greeting using Sweet Sugarplum and swirl using Pool Party, cut out open star
  • Window Sheet – 3 3/8 x 4, add to BACK of the panel, tap with embossing buddy, add foam strips around the star to create pocket for the sequins, tap embossing buddy around the exposed stick part are the inside side of the foam strip to help sequins to not stick, add sequins, remove back from the foam strips
  • Whisper White – 3 3/8 x 4 5/8, add to back of shaker card then add shaker panel to card front
  • Add some sequins to the card front to finish off

Don’t you just LOVE shaker cards…and so easy to make!
