Fresh Fruit

CCMC414Oh…it’s Thursday again!  Don’t you love it?  I do for a couple reasons.  First…it’s almost the weekend!  YAY!!!  But even better…it’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge.  This week…a FABULOUS color challenge – Peek-a-boo Peach, Tangerine Tango and Cucumber Crush.  Aren’t these just great colors together?

Well I started out doing the peaches in the Fresh Fruit set but hmmm…several of the design team members thought the same thing and since instead of working ahead, I didn’t make my card until Tuesday so since the others had made peaches, I decided to use the GREAT flowers in that set!  LOVE!

Here’s the details…

  • Peek-a-boo Peach – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Peek-a-boo Peach – 4 x 5 1/4, run through the Petal Burst Embossing Folder
  • Wrap some Cucumber Crush Thick Baker’s Twine around panel then add to card front
  • Whisper White – 3 1/4 x 4 1/2, stamp greeting using Basic Black Archival (I stamped the Happy and then Birthday underneath it)
  • Ink the large flower using Peek-a-boo Peach and then use a sponge dauber to add Tangerine Tango, stamp on Whisper White.  Do this twice.  Stamp little flowers using Tangerine Tango and leaves using Cucumber Crush.  Stamp centers using Basic Black Archival.  Cut everything out, layer and add to card front.
  • Add some Basic Rhinestones to finish it off.

Did you know that it is almost time for the release of Create with Connie and Mary July Mini Session?  Yep…it is soooo true!

Jar of Love

BestFishesIt would be nice if, when I sit down to create, I could create what I have in mind.  But that seldom happens for me.  But then the good part of that is I have extra pieces laying on the top of my desk so that when I want to make a quick card, I just rummage around and find some pieces to use…LOL!!!

This was one of those cards.  I’m been working with the Jar of Love set for my July ‘bonus’ project for Create with Connie and Mary and had this jar left over.  I also had this little strip of envelope dsp and silver glimmer strip all ready to go.  So…this really was a quick an easy project because I really just needed to add the fish and greeting!

Here’s the details…

  • Pool Party – 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Whisper White – add Flirty Flamingo strip – 1/4 x 3 1/4 and Silver Glimmer strip – scant 1/8 x 3 5/8, stamp greeting using Basic Black Archival
  • Stamp jar using Black Black Archival, water using Pool Party and cut out, stamp fish using Peek-a-boo Peach, cut out and add to jar, add jar to card using dimensionals
  • Add some small Basic Rhinestones to finish off

SUO152Okay…I have to say, with the holiday yesterday, I’m all messed up on what day of the week it is!  All day yesterday I thought it was Sunday so I almost didn’t get my card done for today and a post written up.  GEEZ!!!  I HATE when that happens.

The theme for the SUO challenge this time is “Delight in Nature”.  Hmm…what to do…what to do?  Well I just HAD to to the little foxy!  That’s nature…right?

Here’s the details…

  • Smoky Slate – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 3/4 x 5, add to card front using dimensionals
  • A Little Foxy dsp – 1 3/4 x 4 1/2, add to card front
  • Silver Glimmer – 1/8 x 4 3/4, add to card front
  • Pool Party – 3/8 x 3 1/2, add to card front
  • Stamp tree trunk/Basic Grey, fox/Tangerine Tango and Basic Black, leaves/Garden Green, mushrooms/Pool Party and Tangerine Tango, greeting bubble/Basic Black and Garden Green, cut everything out and add to card front using dimensionals

Bunch of Blossoms

CreateBannerSU16HopWelcome

Welcome everyone to the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Saturday Blog Hop.  Happy July to everyone!  This week we are featuring the LAST of the new incolors – Dapper Denim.

SatHopDapper

This was inspired sort of, in a round about way, by the new navy and white dsp.  I think that is just so clean and crisp looking that I went monochromatic!

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 1/4 x 4 1/4, stamp greeting and ‘swishes’ using Dapper Denim
  • Dapper Denim Envelope dsp – 5/8 x 4 1/4, add behind right side of panel
  • Dapper Denim Runched Ribbon – three small pieces, fold in half, add behind left side of panel, add panel to card front using dimensionals
  • Whisper White – cut out small bold butterfly thinlit, add to card front using dimensionals, add Dapper Denim Enamel Heart to butterfly to finish it off.

You know…I really tried to add more to this card.  No seriously I tried!  But I ended up taking the extra stuff off…just didn’t really make it dressier looking…just clutter.  Sometimes simple is best!

Speaking of simple…it is simple to subscribe to the Create with Connie and Mary July (and August) mini session!
