Playful Backgrounds

InColorsI LOVE to ‘collect’ sketch ideas and when I’m sort of stuck, I like to use the sketches to get me ‘jump started’.  My favorite kind of sketches though are CAS ones (I know…SHOCKER!)

One of the sites that I just LOVE their sketches (even though I don’t always have time to play along) is CASE this Sketch.  The also have CAS designs but they tend to be very different.  Anyway, awhile back I saved this sketch and it turned out being PERFECT to showcase the new incolors and this fun new set…Playful Backgrounds.

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White THICK – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 3/4 x 5, run through Confetti Embossing Folder and add to card front
  • Whisper White – 3 1/4 x 4 1/4, ink stamp using Sweet Sugarplum, Flirty Flamingo, Peek-a-boo Peach, Emerald Envy and Dapper Demin markers and stamp, stamp greeting using Basic Black Archival, add panel to card front using dimensionals
  • Silver Glimmer –  1/8 x 1 5/8, add to card front
  • Add one of each color of the incolor enamel stars to finish off

Now how fun is that?  And speaking of fun…

Swirly Bird

CCMC410Happy Thursday everyone!  It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge and we have a fun color challenge for you – Daffordil Delight, Bermuda Bay and Crumb Cake (or Kraft).

I thought these were the perfect colors for a sailing theme and the little Swirly Bird set works GREAT!  Pair that up with the ‘wave’ from the Swirly Scribbles thinlits and the care pretty much makes itself.

Here’s the details…

  • Daffodil Delight – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 3/4 x 5, run through the Stars embossing folder and add to card front.
  • Crumb Cake – 2 3/8 x 3 3/8 add to card front
  • Bermuda Bay – cut out ‘wave’ and add to card front
  • Stamp 2 boats using Crumb Cake for base, Daffodil Delight for solid sail, Bermuda Bay for striped sail, Crumb Cake for little flag at the top, cut out, add to card front (second one with dimensionals.
  • Stamp ‘sun’ using Daffodil Delight cut out, add using dimensionals
  • Stamp banner using Daffodil Delight on Whisper White, cut out, add using dimensionals

So a pretty easy card!  So head on over to Create with Connie and Mary and check out the GREAT ideas from the design team!

Set(s): Swirly Bird, Time of Year (hostess)

Thoughtful Banners

SUO150Hello everyone!  It is time for another FUN challenge for the SUO challenge team.  This time our very talented design team is taking on ‘Summer Celebrations’.

Well…as soon as I saw the challenge I thought of Independence Day (July 4th) and KNEW I was going to use the wavy lines of the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits as a sort of ‘flag’ look so that is what I went with!

I thought this turned out to be a nice CAS (clean and simple) card.  Although it LOOKS like it is a tall and skinny card it really is a normal size one because of the ‘hangy over’ pieces.

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 1/4 x 5 1/4, run the top 2/3s though the Star Embossing Folder and add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Real Red – cut out the wavy lines from the Swirly Scribbles thinlit, trim to 4 1/4 and add to card front hanging over the edges
  • Silver Glimmer – cut our star, add using dimensionals
  • Dappy Denim – put out star frame, add using dimensionals
  • Dappy Denim – stamp frame using Versamark and white emboss, stamp greeting using Versamark and white emboss, cut out (I don’t have the new punch) and add using Dimensionals

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see their wonderful creations!

Set(s): Thoughtful Banners
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Dapper Denim, Silver Glimmer
Ink: Versamark
Other: Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, Star Framelits, Stars Embossing Folder, White Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!
