Rose Wonder

SUO149Happy Tuesday!  WOW…it’s our last SUO challenge for May and the LAST ONE for this catalog!

This time our theme is Weddings.  I decided it would be fun to the use the Rose Garden thinlit and Rose Wonder set for this…pretty wedding sentiment in the set.  My problem was the main thinlit was a little too big for what I want to do so what I did was did the rose (from the big thinlit in Blushing Bride then did two of the single leaves in Mint Macaron, cut them separate then layered behind the rose trimming it off.  I do like the way it turned out.

Here’s the details…

  • Blushing Bride – 5 1/2 x 11 folded
  • Blushing Bride – 4 x 5 1/4, run through butterfly embossing folder
  • Mint/White dotted print – Birthday Bouquet dsp – 3/4 x 5 1/2, lay on panel at an angle, trim edges
  • Silver 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon , add on strip securing end in back of panel, add panel to card front using dimensionals
  • Whisper White – cut out Lots of Labels framelit, stamp greeting using Blushing Bride and Mint Macaron, add label to card front using dimensionals
  • Add rose (how to make it above)

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see their wonderful creations!

Set(s): Rose Wonder
Paper: Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron, Birthday Bouquet dsp
Ink: Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron

Sunburst Sayings

MnTSunflowerOkay…time for a story.  Back on Tuesday, I posted this card for the SUO challenge.  I just LOVE my sunflower.

So…I needed to come up with some ideas for my stamping group and I just didn’t have a lot of time.  Well, I decided to make that card (from the SUO challenge) with my ladies.  Well…I was looking around for the dsp for that card and didn’t have enough for my little group, so I had to come up with a ‘plan b’.  Anyway, I’m running out of time so to make this card I pulled the flower off the other card and just made up a new base – sometimes you just have to recycle to make it work!

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Shine On Specialty paper (raindrop print) – 3 3/4 x 5 1/2, add strip of Silver Foil – 5/8 x 5 1/2, add behind raindrop paper, add panel to card front
  • Pick two different circle framelits – cut the So Saffron with the larger one and Crushed Curry with the smaller one, then cut out both using the Sunburst Thinlit.  Bend up ‘petals’ and layer
  • Stamp greeting on Chocolate Chip using Versamark, white emboss and punch out with the 1 1/2″ circle punch, add to center of ‘flower’ using dimensionals
  • Punch out leaves from Mossy Meadow using the Festive Flower Builder Punch, add to back of ‘flower’ and add flower to card front.

Yep another QUICK and EASY card!  Gotta love it! And since we are on quick and easy…it’s quick and easy to subscribe to the Create with Connie and Mary May Mini Session.

Thoughtful Banners

MnTMaySo I had my group of stampers meeting and we always make two cards.  Well, school has been a bear lately and between that and a nasty cold, I really hadn’t had any time to stamp (GASP!!!)

When it happens that I’m just super busy and have to come up with an idea quick…I always turn to two things…clean and simple and find things already cut out on the top of my desk…there’s ALWAYS plenty of inspiration there.  I had this cool leaf already cut out and in my discard pile so that was the start of my card.

Here’s the details…

  • Tip Top Taupe – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Very Vanilla – 1/2 x 5 1/2, add to left side of card front
  • Tip Top Taupe – 3 3/4 x 5 1/2, stamp the splotch from Gorgeous Grunge using Tip Taupe Taupe
  • Lost Lagoon Marble print (Going Places) – 5/8 x 5 1/2, add behind panel and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Very Vanilla – cut out just the larger leaf from the large Rose Garden Thinlit, add using a glue dot
  • Lost Lagoon – stamp banner using Tip Top Taupe and greeting using Basic Black Archival, punch out  using the Duet Banners punch and add using dimensionals.

Yep…it is as simple as that!  And speaking of simple…it is SOOO simple to subscribe to the Create with Connie and Mary May Mini Session and get 5 Fabulous ideas for the demo pre-order items!  Subscribe to BOTH May and June now and get a cool bonus project designed by Connie!
