Sprinkles of Life

SUO146WOO HOO…it’s Tuesday!  And so it is time for another SUO challenge!  Our theme this time is All Kinds of Showers!

When I first saw the theme my thought was rain showers but then realized it might also be something like a baby shower or a bridal shower.  Well…ANY of those are okay for this challenge!  I’m so glad!  I wasn’t into doing a baby or bridal shower kind of card as I REALLY wanted to use the fun Shine On Specialty dsp for this challenge!

Here’s the details…

  • Kraft – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Raindrop Shine On Specialty paper – 4 x 5 1/4, add to card front
  • Whisper White – 3 1/8 x 4, stamp raindrops and greeting using Versamark, silver emboss, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Silver Foil – 1/4 x 4 3/4, add to panel
  • Stamp cloud on Whisper White using Versamark, silver emboss and punch out.  Cut out some silver clouds from the specialty dsp, layer all together and add to card front using dimensionals

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see their wonderful creations!

Flower Patch

SproutBoy…I didn’t think I was going to get any time to stamp this weekend but I had time for one quick, simple card.  School is whooping me!  I am working on a major course rewrite that has to go live summary (mid-May).  Then there was a going to be a problem with getting it loaded into all the shell with the 1 week between terms but then our distance learning department is using my class to test a new version of our system so I’m going to get some help in building my website!  YAY!!!  Bad news though…I must have the course ready to go in 2 weeks!  EEEK!!!  I have spent ALL weekend (and I’m talking probably 10 hours minimum each day) working on this.  Fortunately I’ve been working throughout the term so I did have SOME already done!

But…on to my card!  On Tuesday I saw that casology challenge was ‘sprout’. Hmm…what to do with that.  I was using this cute little flower for another card I worked on and thought it would be good for the challenge.  This actually started as a white on white card but sort of grew from there!  That ever happen to you!  Not totally a CAS card but still VERY simple!

Here’s the details…

  • Kraft – 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Kraft – 3 1/2 x 4 1/4, run through the Softly Falling folder
  • Daffodil Delight diagonal stripe 5/8 x 4 1/4 – cut two, add behind panel and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Whisper White – stamp stem/leaves using Pear Pizzazz, make ‘grass’ using Pear Pizzazz Marker, stamp greeting using Basic Black Archival, punch out using the Note Tag punch.  Add piece of Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon using Handheld stapler, add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Stamp flower using Daffodil Delight, cut out, add to card front.  Add Basic Black Candy Dot to center to finish off.

Sprinkles of Life

CFSwapBoy…it won’t be too long now until the Stampin’ Up! retirement list comes out.  I know I will be losing many…that happens to me every year.  But I know FOR SURE that the Sprinkles of Life (the RMHC set) will retire as these only stay around for a year.  I don’t know about you I LOVE the set this year!  I  LOVE that it has a matching punch (and LOVE the punch!) and LOVE how well it works with the Sunburst thinlet (and you KNOW I LOVE that!)

Here’s the details…

  • So Saffron – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • So Saffron – 3 3/4 x 5 1/2, run through the Softly Falling Embossing Folder
  • Whisper White – used different sized punches to make the ‘clouds’, trace on Whisper White and cut out.  Add one to the So Saffron panel and trim edges.
  • Crushed Curry – cut out oval shape then the Sunburst Thinklet, stamp the line of dots in Basic Grey Archival, add to card front
  • Add second Whisper White Cloud using dimensionals then add panel to card front.
  • Stamp cloud 3 times using Basic Grey Archival on Smoky Slate, punch out using Tree Builder Punch, add to card front.
  • So Saffron – 3/8 x 2 3/4, stamp top line only of greeting using Basic Grey Archival, cut into banner on both ends and add to card front.

Suite Sayings

SuiteSayingsI do love to CASE cards…no really I do!  Sometimes I’m just super busy with school and REALLY want to stamp but am just not feeling all that creative.  So…CASING to the rescue!

I’ve seen a couple cards like this on Pinterest (is there any other source of inspiration?) but I did change up several things on it.

We did this as a make and take at my craft group and I think it turned out cute.   I like the added second color of Tempting Turquoise!

Here’s the Details –

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 4 x 5 1/4, run through the Sunburst Thinlit (LOVE THIS) and add using dimensionals
  • Cucumber Crisp Striped Envelope paper – 2 x 4, cut into banner on both ends, add to card front
  • Basic Black – 1 1/2 x 3 5/8, cut into banner on both ends, add to card front
  • Whisper White – 7/8 x 2 3/4, stamp greeting using Cucumber Crisp and Tempting Turquoise markers, cut into banner on both ends, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Punch out large balloon in Tempting Turquoise and small on in Cucumber Crisp, use White Get Pen to add details, add pieces of White Baker’s Twine behind balloons, layer and add using dimensionals
