Sky is the Limit

WI15SatHopWelcome

Welcome everyone!  It is time again for another Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Saturday Hop!  with Sale-a-bration in full swing the design team is showing off tags made with SAB products.

A couple weeks ago I made a card (it was the 1st hop in January – Time to Trim Down theme) using the Sky is the Limit set.  I LOVED the way that card turned out and decided to work from that to design my tag.  Since the tag isn’t limited in number of layers and embellishments…this was fun!

SatHopSABTag

  • Black/White diagonal strip (Neutrals Paper Pack) – 1/2 x 2 7/8, add behind Whisper White piece then add to Real Rad tag slightly down from top to leave a red edge along top.
  • Smoky Slate – punch out 2 ‘clouds’ (tree builder punch), sponge around the edges in Smoky Slate and use white gel pen to add some details, add to tag.

Stake Your Claim

CCMC391Do you ever make a card that when you are done making it, it just makes you smile?  That is what happened with this card!  Since it is Thursday it is time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge and this week it is a fun sketch challenge.

When I first sat down to work on this, I had decided it would be GREAT for the cake image in the Party Wishes set.  The only problem was that my set wasn’t going to be here for a couple of days and I wanted to get it done.  Then I had this idea about a number and a star and it just sort worked itself out from there.  And all I can say…is that I am so happy I didn’t wait for the cake!

Here’s the details…

  • Melon Mambo – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Melon Mambo/Crushed Curry dotted print (It’s My Party dsp) – 3 3/4 x 5
  • Crushed Curry – 3 7/8 x 5 1/8, add the dotted print panel and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Melon Mambo/white star print – 2 3/4 x 1, cut into flag, add to card front
  • Crushed Curry diagonal strip print – 3/4 x 2 1/2, cut into a flay, add to card on a slant
  • Basic Black –  1/4 x 3 7/8, add to card front
  • Silver Glimmer – cut out star frame using star framelits
  • Melon Mambo – cut out number of your choice
  • Stamp greeting using Basic Black Archival on Whisper White, cut out or use framelit, layer the star, number and greeting together and add to card front using dimensionals!

Cool huh? Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team!

A Nice Cuppa

NiceCuppa3Over the New Year’s weekend I had a GREAT time playing with my ‘new stuff’ and really enjoyed all the ‘stuff’ in the Nice Cuppa set!

I wasn’t quite sure what to do with this VERY LARGE stamp.  No…if you don’t have it…it’s REALLY LARGE!

Well…I tried stamping it in Wisteria Wonder on Whisper White and well…it just didn’t work for me.  So I started to play around and this is what I came up with.  I stamped the image using Versamark on the Wisteria Wonder print from the Have a Cuppa dsp stack and clear emboss and then I used my White Gel pen to fill in the words.  It worked MUCH better than I thought it would.  Then I cut it out!

Okay…here’s the details…

  • Bermuda Bay – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Bermuda Bay Scallop Print – 4 x 5 1/4, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Melon Mambo print – 2 3/4 x 4 3/4, add to card front on a diagonal using dimensionals
  • Tea Bag tag print – 2 3/4 x 4 add to card front
  • Silver Foil – 1/8 x 5 – cut out 2 strips and add to card front
  • Add the stack of teacups that you made using technique above using dimensioanl
  • Stamp little tag on Melon Mambo using Versamark and white emboss, cut out and add to card front
  • Tie a bow in White Bakers Twine and add to tag
  • Add some Basic Rhinestones to finish it.
Set(s): A Nice Cuppa
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Have a Cuppa dsp Paper Stack, Silver Foil
Ink: Versamark
Other: Clear Embossing Powder, White Embossing Powder, White Baker’s Twine, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Bloomin’ Love

SUO140It’s time for another SUO Challenge and this time the theme is Valentine Cards or Gifts.

I had this idea that I wanted to use for a Valentine type card and so this was just the perfect challenge for me to use the idea for!

I LOVE the stem/leaves from the Number of Years set and instead of ‘flowers’ I wanted to add some hearts.  My friend Jo gave me some of her Blushing Bride Glimmer paper and I decided that would be PERFECT for my hearts to give it that ‘little extra’.  So…put everything together and this is what you got!

Here’s the details…

  • Rose Red – 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Heart/flower print (Love Blossoms dsp), 3 1/4 x 4 1/4
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 4 1/4, add printed piece on it and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Wild Wasabi – 1/8 x 3 1/4, cut two and add to card front
  • Whisper White – 2 x 3 3/4, punch top using scallop tag topper punch, corner round bottom corners, stamp greeting using Real Red and stem/leaves using Wild Wasabi, punch out hearts using Itty Bitty Accents punch from Blushing Bride Glimmer paper and add to tag.
  • Add piece of Wild Wasabi Seam Binding to the top, tie using Whisper White Baker’s Twine, add tag to card front using dimensionals

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see their wonderful creations!
