And Many More

GiveThanksThe casology theme for this time is GIVE.  This was one of those that as soon as I saw the theme I KNEW EXACTLY what I was going to do!

However…well…it’s sort of like this.  This was NOT what I had in mind!  I sat down to work on the card I THOUGHT I was going to make and this is what happened (I STILL want to make the one I was thinking of doing though!)  I do think this turned out cool and I really like it though – LOL!!!

Here’s the details…

  • Very Vanilla – 3 1/2 x 11 folded, run the top through the Woodland Embossing Folder
  • Very Vanilla – 1 1/4 x 3 1/2, stamp greeting using Mossy Meadow, add to bottom of card
  • Mossy Meadow – 1/4 x 3 1/2 – add to top of the stamped Very Vanilla panel.
  • Gold Glimmer – 3/8 x 4 1/4, add to card front – hanging over edges
  • Gold Glimmer and Mossy Meadow – use out the leaves from the Square Pillow Box thinlit, I cut out 6 of each and added to card using dimensionals

Yep…that really is all there is…CAS…just the way I like it!

Peaceful Pines

CCMC381bHappy Thursday everyone!  It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge and this week we have a GREAT sketch challenge for you!

When I say the challenge the first thing I thought of was it would work perfectly with the Peaceful Pines set.  I ended up using this for my October Christmas Card Class and they could choose between this card in Soft Sky or the same card in Blushing Bride.  Had some takers for both color combos!

Here’s the details…

  • Soft Sky – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Soft Sky – 3 3/4 x 5, run through Softly Falling Embossing Folder and add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Silver diagonal stripe dsp (Neutrals dsp Paper Pack) – 1 x 4, add to card front
  • Cut out largest tree from Silver Foil then to the ‘branches’, bend out. Do tree base in Whisper White, add to tree, add tree to card front.
  • Cut out medium tree from Whisper White, stamp ‘Christmas lights’ using Versamark, silver emboss, add Silver Tree Base then add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Add White star to silver tree and silver star to white tree
  • Stamp greeting on Whisper White using Versamark and silver emboss, punch out using 1″ Circle punch, layer onto 1 1/4″ Scallop Soft Sky Circle.  Add to card front using dimensionals.

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team!

Lots of Joy

CardClassOrnamentI do love mostly white cards and when you add a little red and a little silver you can have a PERFECT Christmas card!

This is a card we we are doing tomorrow at my November Christmas Card class.  I love the overall simplicity of it but the red foil (in the stripes on the base and behind the ornament) really give this some Christmas ‘sparkle’!

This set is one of the Christmas sets from the main catalog – sometimes we forget about the stuff in the catalog when we are focused on the Holiday Mini.

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White THICK – 4 1/4 x 11 folded, round the bottom right of the card
  • Red Foil – cut TWO 1/2 x 5 1/2, add to card base
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 4 3/4, round bottom right corner, stamp greeting using Real Red, add panel to card front using dimensionals
  • Whisper White THICK – cut out small round ornament
  • Silver Foil – cut out ornament top, add to ornament
  • Red Foil – punch out 1 3/4″ circle, add behind white ornament and add using dimensionals
  • Tie bow in Silver Cording Trim and add to top of ornament.

Today is the day!  It’s time for the November Create with Connie and Mary Mini Session!  AND this month we have something special so read to the end!

For All Things

SUO135Happy Tuesday everyone!  It’s time again for another SUO challenge and this time our theme is Fall Fun.  Hmmm…there are sooo many different ways to approach this one so I decided to go with my two FAVORITE ways to make a card…

Make it CAS (Clean and Simple) – check

Use things that are sitting on top of my desk (in this case the leaves, clothespin, and gold strip)

Don’t you just LOVE making cards this way?  I do!  LOL!!!  Just because this dsp is ‘Happy Hauntings’ that doesn’t REALLY mean it is just for Halloween!  I think most of the prints are PERFECT for general cards too!

Here’s the details…

  • Very Vanilla – 3 1/2 x 11 folded
  • Tangelo Twist/Vanilla stripe – 3/4 x 3 1/2, add to bottom of card
  • Basic Black – 3/8 x 4 1/4, add to card
  • Gold Glimmer – 1/2 x 4 1/4, add to card
  • Stamp greeting using Tangelo Twist
  • Happy Hauntings dsp – cut out the two leaves, tie a bow in a piece of Gold Cording Trim (LOVE this stuff!), layer leaves, add bow, blip together using Gold Metallic Mini Clothespin.  Add to card front using dimensionals.

See..easy as can be!

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see their wonderful creations!

Set(s): For All Things
Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Happy Hauntings dsp, Gold Glimmer
Ink: Tangelo Twist
Other: Leaflets Framelits, Gold Cording Trim, Mini Metallic Clothespins, Dimensionals

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

Among the Branches

ClardClassRedWhiteSilverThis is a card we did at my October Christmas Card Class.  I had originally made this for the Red/White Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Blog Hop but then decided that the added silver didn’t match the challenge so I did a different card.  (You can check it out here.)    I really liked this card though and it is a GREAT Christmas card…especially if you need to do A LOT!

Here’s the details…

  • Cherry Cobbler – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Whisper White – 5 1/2 x 3 1/2, run through the Woodland Embossing Folder, then stamp snowflake using Cherry Cobbler, add to card front using dimensionals
  • Cherry Cobbler diagonal striped dsp – 1 1/4 x 4, cut into a banner and add to card front.
  • Silver Glimmer – 1/4 x 4 1/2, cut end at a diagonal, add to card front.
  • Whisper White – cut out using the Window Framelit (oops…retired!), add using dimensionals
  • Stamp image on Whisper White, using Cherry Cobbler, punch out with 2″ Circle Punch, add to card front.

Do you know what time it is?  It’s time for the November Create with Connie and Mary Mini Session!  AND this month we have something special so read to the end!

Embellished Ornaments

Ornament CASAre you looking for a super simple Christmas card?  If you are someone who makes a lot Christmas cards and are looking for a cool card…here it is!  One of the things I love about this card is that you can make it in ANY color combination and it will work.  There is something about pink Christmas cards that I just LOVE and so this is what I came up with.  We did this at a monthly meeting I have with a great group of women!

Here’s the details…

  • Pink Pirouette – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Pink Pirouette – 3 3/4 x 5, stamp greeting using Versamark and silver emboss
  • Cut out ornament form Silver Foil, cut out top from Silver Foil.  Add thin slivers of dimensionals behind ornament and add to card front.  Add ornament top to ornament, add Gold cording trim through ornament top and secure on back of panel.  Add panel to card front using dimensionals.

Yep…that’s the entire card!  LOL!!!
