Snow Place

SUO136It’s time again for another SUO challenge and this time our theme is ‘Holiday’ Colors.  Now this time of your ‘holiday’ can be Thanksgiving or Christmas.  Well I decided to go with the ‘Christmas’ Holiday colors!

I was going through one of my packs of dsp and found this FABULOUS holly paper.  Since our ONLY holly stamp is the little teeny tiny one in the Snow Place set, I decided to keep it nice and simple.  So my ‘Holiday’ colors are Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow with a touch of gold!

Here’s the details…

  • Cherry Cobbler – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Mossy Meadow – 1/2 x 4 1/4, add to right side of card front
  • Holly print (Season of Cheer dsp) – 1 3/4 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Gold Foil – 1/4 x 4 1/4, add to card front
  • Whisper White – 2 x 4, punch one end with Scallop Tag Topper, use Corner Round on the other end, stamp greeting using Mossy Meadow
  • Gold Foil – cut two 1 1/2 x 1/2, slide into tag slot, secure on back and trim
  • Add tag to care front using dimensionals
  • Stamp Santa hat in Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White, ink holly with Mossy Meadow and Cherry Cobbler, cut out with matching framelits, layer holly on hat, add to tag using dimensionals

I just LOVE quick and easy cards!

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see their wonderful creations!

Embellished Ornaments

CCMC382 It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge.  This week we have a super cool color challenge for you:  Elegant Eggplant, Island Indigo and either Delightful Dijon or Gold.

This was one of those challenges that as soon as I saw the colors, I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do!  To me these colors are PERFECT Christmas colors and especially for making ornaments!

Here’s the details…

  • Island Indigo – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 3/4 x 5 1/2, ink stamp using Island Indigo and Elegant Eggplant markers and stamp onto cardstock.
  • Elegant Eggplant diagonal stripe (Regal dsp Paper Pack) – 5/8 x 5 1/2, layer behind Whisper White.
  • To make the ornaments – using the long Delicate Ornaments thinlet cut out TWO EACH – Gold Foil, Island Indigo, Elegant Eggplant.  I did two each of the Island Indigo and Elegant Eggplant because I want the ornaments the same.  If you want the reversed – you only need 1 of each.
  • Cut out 2 of the solid LONG ornament – I did Whisper White – really doesn’t matter.  COVER BOTH with adhesive.
  • Add a Gold Foil ornament to each.
  • DO NOT REMOVE THE LITTLE PIECES from the Island Indigo OR Elegant Eggplant until you are ready to use them – TRUST ME ON THIS!
  • You are going to embed the colored pieces into the gold frames.  Do one line at a time keeping them lined up.  I used my piercing tool to pick up the pieces and put into the frame.  Really went quickly once I figured out the best way to do it.
  • Cut and ornament top in Island Indigo and Elegant Eggplant, add to top of ornament.
  • Add Gold Cording Trim to each ornament, securing behind the Whisper White panel.  NOTE the one ornament is added using dimensionals the other is not.  Add panel to card front using dimensionals.
  • Tie some bows from the Gold Cording Trim and added to the ornaments to finish off.

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team!

Tin of Cards

CAS351The other day I was walking by my desk and saw a cut out of a leaf (the negative image) sitting on top of a piece of dsp that was sitting there.  WOW…it looked sooo cool!

So today I wanted to do a little stamping and then I saw the CAS challenge on SCS was to use leaves so00000…what can I say…another time when a card pretty much made itself.  I SOOO love when that happens.

I was going to stick with just black and white but I wanted to add just a a little accent so went with a gold metal button instead of a silver one!

Here’s the detail…

  • Whisper White THICK – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Everyday Chic (the little triangle print) – 3 3/4 x 5 1/2, add to card front
  • Whisper White – 3 1/4 x 5 1/2, cut out leaf using leaflet framelit, stamp greeting using Versamark and black emboss.
  • Black Glimmer – 3/8 x 5 1/2, add to left side of Whisper White panel and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Tie Gold Cording Trim into large Gold Basic Metal Button, add to leaf to finish off

Yep…that’s all there is – nice and clean and simple!

Set(s): Tin of a Cards
Paper: Whisper White THICK, Whisper White, Everyday Chic dsp, Black Glimmer
Ink: Versamark
Other: Leaflets Framelits, Black Embossing Powder, Gold Basic Metal Buttons, Gold Cording Trim, Dimensionals
