Howl-o-ween Treat

Howl-o-weenTreatWhat can I saw…I absolutely LOVE this little (well actually not so little!) owl!  As I work on projects I tend to have extra ‘pieces’ leftover (I know I’ve mentioned that before) and tend to have them sititng on my desk.  So if I need to come up with a card quick, I clean off my desk, find my leftover pieces and make a card from them.  Most of these were leftover except the base and two extra panels.

Here’s the details…

  • Rich Razzleberry – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Basic Black – 3 5/8 x 4 7/8, add to card base on an angle.
  • Smoky Slate – 3 1/2 x 4 3/4, run through the Woodland Embossing Folder, using the White Gel Pen to dd accents to the tree trunks and add to card base on an angle.
  • Whisper White – punch 2 1/2″ circle and add to card base.
  • Black Glimmer – 3/8 x 5 1/2, add to card base.
  • Stamp owl in Rich Razzleberry on Whisper White, cut out, add to card front.  Punch out two 1/4″ circles from Black Glimmer and add to eyes.
  • Whisper White Thick Cardstock – cut out ‘BOO’ and add using dimensionals.

Such an easy card…especially when you use the things from on top of your desk.  I do like the simple color scheme.

It won’t be long now until the Create with Connie and Mary September Mini Session will be ready for you.  Stay tuned for more details!

Set(s): Howl-o-ween Treat
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Rich Razzleberry, Black Glimmer
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Other: Boo to You Framelits, 2 1/2″ Circle Punch, 1/4″ Hole Punch, Dimensionals

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

No Bones About It

Summer15HopWelcome

Welcome everyone to the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Design Team Blog Hop where the FABULOUS designers pick a theme and we each off a project based on that theme.  For the month of August we are going to be having fun with the new incolors.  This week we are taking a look at CUCUMBER CRUSH!  This color makes my brain freeze!  It is that ONE that I talked about at the beginning of the month that is the one color I…DO…NOT…LIKE!!!  Okay…but I THINK I came up with an okay card…

CucumberDo you remember Glorious Green?  That was a color SU had waaaay back when I first started with SU (hint…started in 1999…LONG time ago!).  Anyway, as I was building up supplies I bought a pack of that paper.  When SU retired that color…I STILL had some of that pack left.  Yep…THAT wasn’t a favorite color either!  I did find though, I could ‘tone it down’ with grey so that is what I did to make Cucumber Crush to make it work for me!

Here’s the details…

  • Basic Grey – 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Cucumber Crush print (Cherry on the Top dsp) – three strips 1 1/8 x 3 3/8.  Round the top corners of one and the bottom corners of the other and add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Add 3 large silver Basic Metal Buttons – one to each strip.
  • Whisper White – 2 3/4 x 3.  Stamp ‘foot prints’/Cucumber Crush, greeting/Memento Black, one dinosaur Smoky Slate/Memento Black, the other dinosaur Cucumber Crush/Memento Black.  Cut our the dinosaurs and add using dimensionals.
  • Wrap around the Smoky Slate Thick around panel then add to card front using dimensionals.
Set(s): No Bones About It
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Grey, Cucumber Crush, Cherry on the Top dsp

Now the problem is…when I do that, I have THAT card in my head and it can be difficult for me do a different card!  What can I say!  I do like the way this turned out though even though it is so different from the other one I made!

Here’s the details…

  • So Saffron – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Very Vanilla – 1 3/4 x 3 3/4
  • Boho dsp – 1/2 x 3 3/4, add to bottom of Very Vanilla piece
  • Stamp HAPPY using Bermuda Bay and Birthday using Blackberry Bliss.
  • Cut three different prints from the Boho dsp – 7/8 x 1 3/4, cut into banners, layer, add behind the Very Vanilla panel then add to card front.
  • Stamp balloon string on card using Delightful Dijon.
  • Stamp Balloon on Very Vanilla using Blackberry Bliss, cut out, stamp the flag using Island Indigo, cut out, stamp banner using Delightful Dijon and Bermuda Bay, cut them out, layer everything and add using dimensionals.

If you are going forward through the hop, you arrived here from Heidi Boos Stuck On Stampin’ blog.  What GREAT projects!

It was difficult for me to pick one thing to use but I finally decided to use the Howl-o-ween Treat set…it is just SOOOO adorable!

Howl-o-ween Treat Card

Okay…LOVE this owl and decided to pair it up with the BOO from Cheer All Year.  Here’s the details…

Howl-o-ween Treat BottleFor my 3D, I took the easy way out and decorated a little bottle that I found at Michael’s.  SOOO easy!  Here’s the details…

SUO129Happy Tuesday everyone!  I can’t believe it…this time next week…I’ll already be ‘back to school’.  We start on Monday.  GEEZ!!!  Where did the summer go?

So the SUO Challenge this time is cards without greetings.  Now I have to say…this was a real challenge for me!  I don’t feel a card is finished unless it has a greeting on it…LOL!!! So this one was TOUGH!!!  Decided if I put a REALLY big flower on it, maybe it won’t feel so naked!  I also thought I’d pull out a color I NEVER use – Wisteria Wonder!  Looks pretty with Mint Macaron!

Here’s the details…

  • Wisteria Wonder – 4 1/4 x 11 folded.  Run through the Butterfly Embossing folder.
  • Wisteria Wonder – 2 1/2 x 4 1/2, layer onto Very Vanilla – 2 5/8 x 4 5/8, add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Watercolor paper – stamp flower two times using StazOn Jet Black, color flower using blender pen and Wisteria Wonder Marker, color leaves/stem using blender pen and Mint Macaron Marker.  Cut out one full flower and just part of the other flower, layer and add using dimensionals.
  • Watercolor paper – stamp butterfly using StazOn Jet Black, color using blender pen and Mint Macaron marker, cut out and add using dimensionals.
  • Tie bow from Mint Macaron 1″ Lace Ribbon and add to flower stem to finish it off.

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see their beautiful butterflies!
