Bohemian Borders

New3This is a reject.  No seriously…it is.  Now there really isn’t anything wrong with this card but it ended up in my reject pile.  What is my reject pile?  It’s cards or projects I made for a particular reason then I decided I didn’t like it for that reason.

I did this card for an upcoming challenge but after it was done, although I liked it…I thought I could do better for the challenge so into the reject pile it went.  I decided though I would share it because the Bohemian Borders is just such a fun set to use.

Here’s the details –

  • So Saffron – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 3/4 x 5
  • In a random pattern, stamp outside of diamond element using So Saffron, middle diamond element in Hello Honey, and inside diamond element using Lost Lagoon
  • Stamp HAPPY in Hello Honey and birthday in Lost Lagoon.
  • Layer panel on Lost Lagoon – 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 and add layer to card front using dimensionals.
  • Add some Island Indigo Candy Dots to finish it off.
Set(s): Bohemian Borders, Celebrate Today

Goodbye Feathers

FeathersJust a quick post today.  I have to say that I am REALLY sad that the Four Feathers set and matching framelits did not make it into the new catalog.  I had really hoped they would be in there….sometimes you just need something a little different and the feathers work for both male and female cards.

So…since come June 3rd these will be GONE, I decided to do one more card with them!  Just used the framelits and not the matching stamp set.

Here’s the details –

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 4 3/4, run through Decorative Dots folder and add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Gold Glimmer – 1/4 x 3 1/2, add to card front
  • Whisper White – cut out Apothecary Arts label (also retiring), stamp greeting using Versamark and gold emboss, add using dimensionals
  • Using the smaller feather framelit, cut one out of Gold Glimmer and one out of Whisper White.  Take the Whisper White one, press into Versamark and gold emboss.  Add using dimensionals.
  • Tie small gold metal button with a piece of Whisper White Baker’s Twine.  Add using glue dots.
Set(s): And Many More
Paper: Whisper White, Gold Glimmer
Ink: Versamark
Other: Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Apothecary Arts Framelits, Feathers Framelits, Gold Embossing Powder, Gold Basic Metal Buttons, White Baker’s Twine, Dimensionals

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

You’ve Got This

NewOh…NEW STUFF is right around the corner and I can hardly wait.  As a demo I did get to get some ‘new stuff’ this month and decided to make a card with it for a get-together of friends for them to make.

A little funny story…I was trying to figure out what to do with this set and I saw a stack of the banners already cut out and sitting on my desk.  I needed a total of 7 (one for my card and 6 for my friends to use on their cards) and that was exactly how many I had.  So…since the die needed to cut them is retiring the end of this month and I already had them cut out, this card came together pretty quickly.

Here’s the details…

  • Mint Macaron – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Mint Macaron – 3 3/4 x 5, run through the NEW Boho Chic embossing folder and add to card front using dimensionals
  • Cut Party Pennant Bigz die out of Whisper White, stamp background in Mint Macaron then flower in Memento Black.
  • Tie Min Macaron 1″ Lace Trim around top of banner and add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Stamp greeting sing Memento Black on Whisper White 7/8 x 2 3/4, cut in to banner and add to card front using dimensionals.

I have to say…REALLY like the way this card turned out.  Oh…and come back Saturday when I use this again for the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Saturday Blog Hop!

Enjoy

SUO123It’s time for another SUO challenge and this time our theme is Sweet Treats.  As soon as I saw this challenge I thought of the Mini Treat Bag from the Occasions Mini – it’s such a great size…not too big but not too small and with all the ‘extras’ in there, you really have it made!

All the ‘cut out’ pieces came with the mini treat bag thinlits…how could you NOT have this?  Seriously…it’s in there!  And I decided to use one of my favorite color combos of Night, Coral, White!

Here’s the details –

  • Cut out the ‘bag’ portion using Whisper White.  Run the pieces through the Lucky Stars Embossing folder then put the bag together.
  • Using the star that comes in the set, cut out one each of Night of Navy, Calypso Coral, Silver Glimmer.  Add the Navy and Coral ones to the bag.
  • Cut out the Whisper White banner (again…one of the pieces in the set) and the enjoy (still another piece) from Night of Navy.  Add the enjoy to the white banner.
  • Take a 1″ strip of the Calypso Coral print in the Birthday Bash dsp.  Use the same framelit as the White Banner and cut the dsp.  Cut piece in half, layer behind the white banner then add using dimensionals.
  • Add Silver star next.
  • Tie White Bakers Twine into a Calypso Coral large button and add to bag to finish off.

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see which one they picked!
