  • Stamp the greeting using Basic Grey
  • Add panel to card base using dimensionals

Hi There

CAS283What a fun CAS challenge this week.  The challenge is to use scraps of ribbon.  Okay…this is something that I have TONS of scraps and I hardly knew where to begin!  I just LOVE the rainbow colors of the ribbon and it is perfect for the rainbow challenge on casology!

Wanting to stay in the CAS style I decided to pick some of my matching chevron ribbon pieces and use them to make a nice little ribbon banner border.  This card was so quick and easy to make!

Here’s the detail –

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 5 1/2, stamp greeting using Memento Basic Black ink
  • Add 6 pieces of Chevron Ribbon that have been cut into banners.  I used Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz, Island Indigo, Smoky Slate
  • Add panel to card front using dimensionals

Yep that really is all there is to it!

What’s Your Type?

IC451I wanted to do a little stamping this morning so I was checking out the inspiration challenge over on SCS.  The website is called LEIF and I found this inspiration here.

As soon as I saw this vase I though about the new What’s My Type? photopolymer set and figured it would just be so easy to do the triangular background with it.  I was RIGHT!  I really wasn’t any problem at all making the background to match the vase in the inspiration piece!

Here’s the details…

  • Pistachio Pudding – 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 folded
  • Whisper white – 4 x 4, stamp the triangle on the piece in Pistachio Pudding then trim down.  My square ended up 3 7/8 x 3 7/8.  Wrap a piece of the Pistachio Pudding Twine around it then add to card front using dimensionals
  • Stamp greeting on Whisper White using Garden Green, cut into a banner and add using dimensionals.
  • Punch out 3 Crisp Cantaloupe flowers using the Itty Bitty Accessory Punch Pack add to card front.
  • Add Basic Rhinestones to finish off.
Set(s): Flower Patch, What’s Your Type

Traveler

CCMC313Aaaaah…it’s Thursday!  Boy…it’s been a busy week around here for me.  Lots of school work…and I actually don’t have any classes I’m teaching right not.  It’s the getting ready for Fall term that is killing me!  LOL!!!

But it is Thursday so that mean it’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge and this week we have a cool sketch for you!

When I was working on one of my projects for Create with Connie and Mary Summer Collection 2014, I combined the Traveler set and the Flashback dsp and I just LOVE these two things paired up together.  As I was trying to figure out what to do for this sketch, I started to play around with this combo again and quickly remembered why I like the combination!

Here’s the details –

  • Pool Party – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Real Red – 4 7/8 x 3 5/8, layer onto Basic Black 5 x 3 3/4 and add to card basic using dimensionals.
  • Hello Honey – 3/4 x 4 7/8.  Take 2 x 3 1/2 strip of the camera print and add to the strip.  Next take 2 x 2 strip and add to bottom of the strip.  Take 2 x 2 piece of the Basic Black strip, cut top and bottom of the diagonal, add to strip to cover up the overlapping pieces.
  • Wrap Coastal Cabana twine around panel securing to the back.  Add panel to card front using dimensionals
  • Stamp camera in Pool Party, greeting in Memento Black, cut with Circle Framelit, overset layer onto 2″ Hello Honey Circle and add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Add 3 sizes of Basic Metal Buttons (TOTALLY NAKED!!!!  EEEK!)  using glue dots.

Don’t forget to head on over to Create with Connie and Mary and see the great cards by the Design Team.

Kinda Eclectic

TSSC324Can you believe it…it’s Monday again and time again for the Teachnostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  As soon as I saw the challenge I knew EXACTLY what set I would be using for this.  I decided to use the colors from the Create with Connie and Mary Summer Collection 2014 Saturday Challenge!  I thought they would work GREAT with the set.

The leaves are a little fussy to cut out but I do think that having the one cut out and tucked behind the strip works out and gives a little extra dimension.

Here’s the details –

  • Lost Lagoon – 4 1/4 x 11 folded, stamp the Hardwoood background in Lost Lagoon
  • Whisper White 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  Stamp the starburst in Sahara Sand and the leaves in Mossy Meadow.  Stamp the greeting in Lost Lagoon and Mossy Meadow.  Layer on Mossy Meadow 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.
  • Stamp leaves again in Mossy Meadow on Whisper White, cut out and add to card.
  • Strip is 3/4 x 3 1/2 Lost Lagoon and stamp dotted strip using Lost Lagoon and add to panel.
  • Add large Basic Metal Button using Whisper White Bakers Twine and add panel to card front using dimensionals.
  • Add some Basic Rhinestones to finish it off.

TSSC324See the sketch really is perfect for this set!  Don’t forget to check out the other members of the team and remember go to the Technostamper blog to play along!

Sea Street

CAS282Okay…just a super quick and easy card for the CAS (clean and simple) challenge on SCS today.

The challenge is a day at the beach.  Hmmm…what to do?  I really like the Sea Street set but usually only use the cute octopus in there.  Yet there are all these other FUN images…little mind you…but perfect for ‘a day at the beach’.

Here’s the details –

  • Whisper White 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 folded
  • Whisper White 3 1/2 x 3 1/2
  • Stamp lobster and crab in Real Red.  Punch out lobster with medium oval punch and add to panel.  Punch out crab with 3/4″ Circle punch
  • Stamp ‘rope’ using Crumb Cake, cut out and add to card front.
  • Stamp greeting using Night of Navy.
  • Stamp star using Night of Navy and Pool Party cut out.  Add dimensionals to the back of stars and crab and add to card front.
  • Add some Basic Rhinestones to finish it off.

So…that’s my quick and easy, clean and simple card!  Time for bed!

Tour de Freaks – July

freakwelcome2013Hello everyone and welcome to the July Tour de Freaks!  Many of Freaks are off at convention (which is just finishing up) but thanks to the wonder of the blogging world whether you are exhausted from a great convention or having a great time at home stamping with friends you are in for a treat.  If you are going forward through the hop you arrived here from the very talented Debbie Henderson and her Debbie’s Designs blog.  I just LOVE her stuff!

And now for my stuff!  I just LOVE the new Bloom for You single stamp and matching punch and decided to feature that in my projects this month.  First up…

Card1If you follow my blog at all you know that I just LOVE CAS (clean and simple) cards.  I like lots of ‘white space’ on my cards and often my ‘white space’ is just that….WHITE!

For this card the base is 4 1/4 x 11 folded.  The next layer is 5 x 3 3/4  I stamped the chevron from the Work of Art stamp in Night of Navy, my friend from And Many More in Garden Green.  The panel is added using dimensionals. The flower is stamped in Crushed Curry – two times – punch out and layered,  the center done with Night of Navy and the ‘leaves’ is the same flower punch in Wild Wasabi.   I colored some Basic Pearls with my Night of Navy (darkest) blendabilities and add to the card to finish off.

Card2So for my next project I used the same make up for the flower.  The card base is Night of Navy 4 1/4 x 11 folded.  I took the Night of Navy polka dotted dsp from the Regals paper pack.   One strip 5 x 1 1/2, middle is 5 x 3/4 and smallest is 5 x 1/2.  These panels are added using dimensionals.  Whisper White is 1″ x 4 1/8 with a 1/8″ Crushed Curry strip on it, cut into a banner, stamp the greeting using Garden Green and add to card front.  Like I said the flower is done the same way as above and added using dimensionals.  Finally I colored some pearls using the Daffodil Delight Blendabilities (middle one) and add to the card front.

ThankYouGift1And now for my 3D item.  We wanted to do a little thank you gift for our helpers at Create with Connie and Mary LIVE last Saturday.  I found these cool memo pad holders at Michael’s and thought they would just be perfect altered and they are just SOOOOO cheery!  The memo pad holder was Night of Navy with the fun white dots on it.  I wrapped a piece of Hello Honey Stitched Satin Ribbon then a piece of the Silver 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon aroun dit.  I make a flower (same as above) EXCEPT for the center I used the ‘dotted’ center from the Beautiful Bunch set on Night of Navy and White Embossed so that it looked like the background.  The pen has a piece of the Crushed Curry Dotted dsp inside.

Now it’s time to head over to Justin’s jk cards blog!  He is sharing his convention swaps with you.
