SUO99Guess what?  It’s time for another SUO Challenge and this time our theme is ‘Summer Days’.  And if you are liking new stuff and also very summery feel, check out this cool card using the World of Dreams set and Washi Tape

I just REALLY like this cute little octopus.  When I was trying to think of something to do with him I decided a bunch of ‘bubbles’ would be GREAT!  To make them, I added vellum to adhesive THEN punch them out.  This way they stuck nicely and I didn’t see the adhesive.

Here’s the details:

  • Lost Lagoon – 4 1/4 x 11, folded and using the Project Life Corner Rounder on the bottom two corners.
  • Lost Lagoon – 3 1/2 x 4 3/4, round bottom two corners.  Layer onto Whisper White 3 5/8 x 4 7/8 with bottom two corners rounded then add to card front using dimensionals
  • Add Vellum Circles in 1″, 3/4″ and 1/2″.  As I said above, add adhesive to the vellum then punch.
  • Stamp Octopus in Blackberry Bliss, cut out.  Stamp greeting using Blackberry Bliss on Whisper White.  Cut into a banner and add to a toothpick (with the ends cut off) and add the flag to the octopus using Glue Dots.
  • Add Octopus to card front using dimensionals
  • Add some Basic Rhinestones to the card to finish it off.

Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team to see which one they picked!

Set(s): Sea Street, And Many More
Paper: Whisper White, Lost Lagoon, Vellum
Ink: Blackberry Bliss
Other: 1″ Circle Punch, 3/4″ Circle Punch, 1/2″ Circle Punch, Project Life Corner Rounder, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

World of Dreams

CAS277Don’t miss out on my Preview Project (CUTE Domino set) and check out who (hint there are TWO) Create with Connie and Mary Design Team members who are offering  BLOG CANDY today (TUESDAY)!

The CAS challenge this time is to CASE something from the gallery of hskelly.  I picked this card and instead of stamping on the background I decided it would look really cool to use some of my new Washi Tape.

I played around awhile back with stamping on Washi Tape and what I found out is that if you use StazOn ink over the Washi Tape, it works just fine!  You should try it!

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 – add to card base using dimensionals
  • Whisper White – 3 x 4 1/4 – add strips of the Beach House Washi Tape
  • Stamp image over Washi Tape using StazOn Jet Black ink
  • Stamp greeting using StazOn Jet Black ink
  • Add to card front using dimensionals
  • Add some Basic Rhinestones to finish it off

Flower Patch

CAS276Oh…this was one of the sets in the new catalog that I just couldn’t WAIT to get my hands on.  What hooked me on Stampin’ Up! way back in the beginning of time (like almost 15 years ago) was two-step stamping and this set is two-step stamping to PERFECTION!!!  It is a photopolymer so lining things up – PIECE OF CAKE!

So when I saw the that CAS challenge this week is two-step stamping…what can I say…it had my name ALL OVER IT!  The other GREAT thing about this set…MATCHING FRAMELITS!  LIFE IS GOOD!

Here’s the details –

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 run through the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder, add to card using dimensionals.
  • Early Espersso – 1/2 x 3 1/2, punch with Scallop Edge Punch and add to card
  • Flower – Daffodil Delight then Crushed Curry then Early Espresso on Whisper White, cut out with framelit.  Leaves – Pear Pizzazz then Mossy Meadow, cut out with framelit.  Layer and add to card using dimensionals
  • Whisper White – 1/2 x 3 1/4, stamp greeting in Mossy Meadow.  Cut into banner and add using dimensionals.

Summer Silhouettes

CCMC306Well now, here’s a set I haven’t used in quite some time!  It’s that weird time of the catalog year where my new stuff has been ORDERED but won’t be in until later today!  So I decided for the color challenge on Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge that I would pull out a set that hasn’t seen much ink in quite some time!

I’m glad I did pull it out!  I think it worked out perfectly for the challenge this week and such a happy little card!

Here’s the details…

  • Coastal Cabana – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 4 1/2 x 3 1/4.  Stamp leave/stem using Wild Wasabi.  Stamp the additional small stem with same ink.  Stamp lattice border using Coastal Cabana and greeting in Perfect Plum.
  • Layer onto Perfect Plum 4 5/8 x 3 3/8.  Wrap piece of Coastal Cabana twin around it and add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Stamp flowers using Perfect Plum on Whisper White, cut out, curl petals and add using dimensionals.  Add Basic Rhinestone to center of each.
  • Tie Coastal Cabana twine in a purple Regals button.  Add dimensional to back and add to card front.

Head on over to Create with Connie and Mary and check out what the design team did with this week’s challenge!
