Pleasant Poppies

TSSC314Happy Monday!  It’s time for another Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge and Mary Jo has a nice easy one for us!  I knew when I saw it I wanted to use something that would let me use my new Blendabilities some.  Then I remembered my Pleasant Poppies background stamp that I haven’t used in FOREVER so I figured it would work.

Now one of the things about the blendabilities is that when you buy them you get a set of 3 shades of one color.  But remember….you don’t have to use just those colors together.  My friend Jackie played around some mixing the medium colors of markers and I thought I’d just mix them up a bit too.  For the flowers on this card I used the Cherry Cobbler Medium and Light and the Pumpkin Pie Medium.  I think I was able to get a cool poppy color doing that.

Here’s the details:

  • Tangerine Tango – 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Tangerine Tango dsp Paper Pack – 3 7/8 x 3 7/8 layered onto Whisper White 4 x 4.
  • Tie a piece of the NEW Mossy Meadow Stitched Satin Ribbon around the panel and add to card front.
  • Whisper White 2 1/2 x 3 5/8.  Stamp Pleasant Poppies using Memento Black Ink, color with Cherry Cobbler Medium and Light and Pumpkin Pie Medium Blendabilities and stems with Old Olive Medium and Light Blendabilities.  Round bottom corners and add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Stamp greeting using Basic Grey on So Saffron.  Punch ends using Modern Label punch.  Add to card front using dimensionals.

TSSC314Isn’t this just a FABULOUS sketch?  I thought so!  Don’t forget to check out the other members of the team and remember go to the Technostamper blog to play along!

Work of Art

CAS272Here is an EXTREMELY quick an easy card for the CAS challenge on SCS!  The challenge was a color challenge based on a tulip pictures.  At first I was going to go with the tulip image that I have.  But then that would involve coloring in and although I am getting MUCH better with the Blendabilities, it takes a lot of time and I wanted QUICK and EASY!

So my next thought was to use the Work of Art set I got at the Catalog Premiere and I think it worked out just perfectly.  This really took no time to make!

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 11 folded.  Round bottom right corner using Envelope Punch Board.
  • Whisper White – 4 3/4 x 3 1/2.  Round bottom right corner using Envelope Punch Board.
  • Stamp the watercolor images using So Saffron (largest image), Rose Red (smaller image) and Wild Wasabi (circle image).
  • Stamp greeting using Basic Black
  • Add some medium rhinestones to finish it off.

Yep…that’s all there is to it!

Set(s): Work of Art
Paper: Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, So Saffron, Rose Red, Wild Wasabi
Other: Envelop Punch Board, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

Something to Say

CCMC302You sometimes simple is the best.  For the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge we have a fun color challenge and I decided to go with the ‘simple is best’ idea for this.

The colors are Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay.  As I was playing around with it first I got my ‘pre-order’ stuff with the fun little flower punch in there and then after playing around I just wanted to showcase these pretty colors just on white!

Here’s the details…

  • Whisper White 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4 run through Chevron Embossing folder and add to card front.
  • Whisper White 4 1/4 x 3.  Stamp greeting from the NEW Something to Say set using Basic Grey.  Add panel to card front using dimensionals
  • Punch Petite Petals in Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Bermuda Bay.  Punch the Flower from the NEW Itty Bitty Accessories Punch Pack from Whisper White.  Layer the flowers and add a matching Candy Dot to the center.  Then add flowers to card front to finish off.

Head on over to Create with Connie and Mary and check out what the design team did with this week’s challenge!

I was really looking forward to being able to order some of the new Blendabilities and then decided to order on of the new hostess sets so I’d have something cool to color!  I decided to wanted to start with this fun flower (and I got to do LOTS of cutting out…my VERY favorite thing to do.

  • Zig zag from the Tasteful trim die – 5 strips in Whisper White add with Tombow glue
  • Stamp greeting using StazOn Jet Black
  • Flowers:  Lost Lagoon and Blueberry Bliss – Pansy Punch and Petite Petal.  Cut out 3 of the Little Leaves sizzlits in Mossy Meadow, add to back of flowers.  Add Lost Lagoon one directly to card and Blueberry Bliss using dimensionals.
  • Add Jumbo Rhinestones to the centers of the flowers and additional basic rhinestones for a little extra bling.
