Wetlands

mnt1Okay…I have to tell you…I LOVE this card!  This was another make and take for a workshop I had back in April.  I wanted to use this set because although I’ve had it for awhile, I really haven’t used it all that much.  I also wanted to do a masculine card.

The funny thing about this card is I sat down to exactly copy a card I had seen on Pinterest (yes…I do spend WAAAAY too much time on there!) but for some strange reason it didn’t turn out AT ALL like the one I was going to copy!  LOL!!!  That does happen to me!

Here’s the details:

  • Pear Pizzazz  4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Smoky Slate – 3 5/8 x 4 7/8, stamp the Hardwood Background stamp in Basic Grey, sponge a bit with Smoky Slate, layer onto Basic Black 3 3/4 x 5, wrap Linen Thread around it then add to card front.
  • Whisper White largest Chalk Talk tag.  Stamp goose in StazOn Jet Black, mask it then stamp the grassy stuff behind it.  Color using Smoky Slate and Old Olive.
  • Use SAB Bitty Banner Punch – Old Olive and Basic Black, add behind tag then add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Tie some Linen Thread in Basic Metal Button (oh…I’m soooo glad these made it!) and add to card front using glue dot.
  • Stamp greeting using StazOn Jet Black on Pear Pizzazz, punch out with large oval punch and add to card front to finish off.

Paper: Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Smoky Slate
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Basic Grey, Smoky Slate, Pear Pizzazz

A Dozen Thoughts

CASInColorsThe new incolors are just SOOOO rich!  Now don’t get me wrong…I LOVE the current ones (Cantaloupe, Pistachio, etc) but these are so pretty too!

I had this idea for a card I wanted to do for the last Create with Connie and Mary color challenge.  I had the layout in my head but then ended up going with a  different layout to use the color challenge.  Then I got in my new incolors and I still wanted to play around with the design in my head and came up with this.  Then I see that layout worked with the Around the World sketch challenge.  Isn’t that cool when that happens!

Here’s the details:

  • Whisper White – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Whisper White – 4 1 /2 x 3 1/4
  • Stamp the greeting using Basic Black
  • Cut small pieces of three of the new incolor stitched satin ribbon (Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow), clip ends, fold in half and add behind panel.  Add panel to card front using dimensionals.
  • Take strips of Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, and Mossy Meadow.  Punch out a flower using the new Itty Bitty Accent Punch then cut out using the smallest Square Framelit.
  • Add the Squares to the card front using dimensionals.
  • Add Rhinestones to the center of each flower to finish it off.

Quick and easy and really shows off these three NEW incolors!

Set(s): A Dozen Thoughts
Paper: Whisper White, Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Stitched Satin Ribbon (Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow), Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Squares Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Bloom with Hope

CCMC303Can you  believe it?  It’s time for ANOTHER Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge and we have a fun and easy sketch challenge for you!

I knew when I saw this challenge that I wanted to use the new hostess set Bloom with Hope.  I bought this set specifically so that I could use my new Blendability markers with it and I must say…Bendabilities and Bloom with Hope go absolutely perfectly together!  This is another card that I mixed together blendabilities from different sets – Cherry Cobbler Medium and Pumpkin Pie Medium and Light.  I also used Daffodil Delight and Old Olive sets.  WAAAAY cool!

Here’s the details….

  • Hello Honey (new incolor) – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Lullaby (new dsp) – 3 1/2 x 4 3/4, layer onto Tangerine Tango 3 5/8 x 4 7/8 and add to card front.
  • Tangerine Tango 5/8 x 3 1/4, stamp greeting using Memento Black, cut into flag and add to card front.
  • Stamp largest bloom, stem and leaves/stem using Memento Black on Whisper White.  Color flower with Cherry Cobbler Medium, Pumpkin Pie Medium and Light and Daffodil Delight (all 3).  Color stem and leaves/stem with Old Olive (all 3).  Cut out, layer together and add to card front using dimensionals.

Four You

mnt2Here’s a card I designed as a make and take for my April workshop.  I was featuring the Envelope Punch Board and wanted to show making ‘bows’ using it.

Those of you who know me, know how much I just LOVE the clean and simple look and even though is card is Basic Grey for the base, it is still a great CAS card!  What I love about this card is the color accent, just change the color and you have a whole new look!

Here’s the details:

  • Basic Grey: 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Whisper White – 2 1/2 x 3 1/4
  • Black/White diagonal strip dsp (Kaelidoscope dsp) – 2 1/2 x 1 add to Whisper White.
  • Stamp greeting using Basic Black.  Add to Basic Black 2 5/8 x 3 3/8.  Add to card base using dimensionals.
  • Bow is made using Melon Mambo dsp –  a 5 x 1 piece punched at 2 1/2 on and then at the end (you can go on Pinterest and find MANY videos on how to make these bows) and 3 1/4 x 1 punched a 1 5/8 and then the ends.  Middle of bow – 1/4 x 1.  NOTE:  I layered 4 HALF dimensionals between the bow pieces so they won’t totally squish if being mailed.
  • Add finished bow to card.
  • Punch out Melon Mambo Bitty Butterfly add to card front and add Basic Black Candy Dot to center of butterfly to finish up.

What a fun card!  Have fun making it!
