Cool Kids

CCMC286It’s another Thursday which means another FUN challenge on Create with Connie and Mary.  And this week…we have a very different color challenge for you!

I will have to say when I sat down to work on this challenge I really wasn’t sure what the heck I was going to do with it but I have to say, I think it turned out SOOOO cute!  This set is really different but I do think it will make some cute kid cards!

Here’s the details:

  • Smoky Slate – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Smoky Slate – 3 3/4 x 5, run through the Arrows embossing folder then add to card front.
  • Add thin strip Island Indigo 1/8 x 4 3/8 (you’ll have to trim the edges) to the card base.
  • Cut piece of Whisper White 2 x 3 3/4 and cut top with Angled Tag Topper Punch.  Stamp the dog in Island Indigo.  Either color in the scarf with Perfect Plum or do like I did and stamp on a piece of Perfect Plum and cut out and add.
  • Stamp the greeting on Perfect Plum 5/8 x 3 using Veramark and white emboss.  Cut into a banner and add to the tag using dimensionals.
  • Add Island Indigo Chevron Ribbon to the top of the tag and tie with a piece of White Baker’s Twine.  Add tag to card front using dimensionals.
  • Add some rhinestones to the tag to finish it off.

Vivid Vases

VividVasesWelcome to Day 4 of the Create with Connie and Mary Spring Collection Preview Week.  Today one of our Design Team (who is truly the “Queen of Clean”) is not only sharing a FANTASTIC card set for you (HINT:  what set is she using….hmmm…maybe MY card is a hint!) with a FULL FREE TUTORIAL but she is also offering BLOG CANDY!!!  So who IS this talented lady?  Head over to Create with Connie and Mary to find out!

Okay…a little about my card.  I LOVE the idea of watercoloring but well…I’m not that great with it and it TAKES ME FOREVER!!!  We will NOT discuss how LONG it took me to do this little image!  Usually it take me longer to take my picture, crop and copyright it, do a blog post then post it around then it take for me to make a card.  Today..NOT!!!  But I do think it turned out pretty and the watercoloring isn’t half bad!  I’m REALLY looking forward to the NEW ALCOHOL MARKERS Stampin’ Up! is coming out with!

Here’s the details:

  • Pink Pirouette – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Stamp greeting using Basic Black
  • Watercolor Paper – 2 1/2 x 3 1/4.  Stamp image using Stazon JetBlack ink.  The vases are colored using Smoky Slate and blender pen, the stems/leaves are all Pear Pizzazz, the flowers are Primrose Petals and blender pen.
  • I folded some Pear Pizzazz Chevron Ribbon and added to the left side then just did a ‘tail’ on the right side and added this behind the panel.  I added the panel using dimensionals.
  • To finish it off I took a Pink Pirouette medium button, tied some white baker’s twine on it and added it to the panel using dimensionals.

Starburst Sayings

CAS DOTI haven’t been doing many challenges recently…it’s that full time work thing (and feeling a bit under the weather).  Anyway I just couldn’t resist combining two of my VERY FAVORITE challenges – CAS-ology (Dots) and colourq (it wasn’t posted on the site but I found it on one of the design team members).  I did substitute Real Red for Poppy Parade!

Here’s the VERY quick and easy details:

  • Whisper White – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded run through the SAB Decorative Dots folder
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  It’s hard to see but I score two lines 1 1/8 and 1 1/4 from the right side.   Add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Stamp greeting in Real Red, cut out with matching Starburst framelit.  Add Pool Party Twine (SAB) bow and add to card front using dimensionals.
  • Island Indigo – 3/4″ Circle Punch, Basic Grey 1/2″ Circle Punch.  Add using dimensionals.
  • Basic Rhinestones to finish it off!

Don’t you just LOVE CAS?  I know that I do!

Peaceful Petals

SUO88Welcome to another SUO challenge!  This one was an easy…use some of your NEW SU Stuff!  Well…I do have some of that!

In case you missed it…I shared a REALLY FUN project using the new banner kit (but not as a banner) in yesterday’s post…don’t miss it!

I decided to go VERY simple on mine.  You know me…I do like simple.  Well some of you might not think it is all that simple because YES…I DID CUT OUT THAT FLOWER!!!  VERY FUSSY CUT!  But I do have to say…LOVE the way it LOOKS!

Here’s the details

  • Whisper White – 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 folded.  Run through the Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder
  • Kaleidoscope dsp – Cut piece of the Crushed Curry print 4 1/4 x 2.  Then add a 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece of the Black and White Diagonal stripe behind it.  Add to card front.
  • Take piece of Whisper White and stamp image using Versamark.  Black emboss.  Cut out (yes…I AM nuts!) and add to card front.  I just put glue down the stem.  Color in center of flowers using Crushed Curry marker.
  • Stamp greeting on piece of Whisper White 5/8 x 2 3/4 using Versamakr and Black Emboss.  Cut in to a banner.
  • Add 1/8 x 4 1/4 Basic Black thin strip behind banner and add to card front.
  • Add Crushed Curry Candy Dots to banner to finish it off.
Set(s): Peaceful Petals
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Kaleidoscope dsp
Ink: Versamark, Crushed Curry
Other: Black Embossing Powder, Needlepoint Borders Embossing Folder, Regals Candy Dots, Dimensionals

PREVIEW and BLOG CANDY!!

WOOOO HOOOO!!!  I am sooo excited to be sharing my PREVIEW PROJECT with you!  When January comes around I’m always thinking about organizing.  How about you?  As I was working on an idea for PREVIEW I was thinking about ways to better keep track of some of stuff and came up with this idea….

DSC01275

How cool is this?  I’ve done this before where you use a picture frame with the glass in to make a dry erase board but I thought how fun some of the new products would make a different dry erase board.  This board is BIG…10 x 20 and uses the FUN new Celebrate Banner Kit.  I added some lines (I like my writing to be relatively straight – LOL!!!) and had fun decorating it using the COOL paper and stuff that came with the Calypso Coral Accessory Kit!  LOVE this kit!

Too big?  This would be JUST as CUTE as a singe banner in an 8 x 10 frame!

So you need to do a couple things…

  • Leave me a comment here today (Monday, 1/13/14) and you are entered into MY BLOG CANDY!!!
  • Head over to Create with Connie and Mary to download my FREE TUTORIAL for this project
