Snow Day

Snow DayOkay…so there’s a bit of a story about this card.  On Tuesday I had a workshop and I planned on using this card as one of the make and takes.  I had all the supplies for this (and the other make and takes) packed up and ready to go.  I get home from school, did my 2 mile walk and around 5 pm sat down to cool off before getting my shower and heading to my workshop at 5:50.  I’m checking my computer and read that Endless Wishes is SOLD OUT and would NOT be RESTOCKED!!!  EEK!!!!  What am I going to go?  I have everything prepped but no one will be able to purchase the set.  So I QUICKLY got a shower and had 20 mins to come up with a new card using the supplies from the last one.  Anyway…this is what I came up with and IT WAS A HIT!!!  WHEW!!!

Here’s the details…

  • Coastal Cabana – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 1/4 x 5 1/2
  • Stamp snowman in Smoky Slate (stamp off once), eyes/mouth in Basic Black, nose in Pumpkin Pie, arms in Early Espresso, buttons in Coastal Cabana, hat/scarf in Real Red.
  • Stamp snowflakes in Coastal Cabana and greeting in Real Red.
  • Add 1/2 x 5 1/2 strips of Real Red to the top and bottom of of the Whisper White piece than add panel to card base using dimensionals.
  • Finish off the card by add some Basic Rhinestones among the snowflakes.

So…that’s how you morph one card into another!

Set(s): Snow Day
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Coastal Cabana
Ink: Smoky Slate, Real Red, Coastal Cabana, Early Espresso, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie

Truly Grateful

CCMC278So I had decided to hold a World Card Making Day event well…on the actual World Card making day and it just didn’t work out for everyone so I changed the date and it was great for everyone.  Unfortunately then my sweet Gypsy got sick and I needed to cancel and try again at a later date.  So that DID work out (and everyone got to meet the little Coco puff.  So…what the HECK does THAT have to do with this card?  Well…I REALLY liked the design of one of the cards so I decided to remake it in different colors for today’s Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge (see…I DID get there!)

Here’s the details…

  • Always Artichoke:  4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Natural White 3 5/8 x 4 7/8
  • Layer onto Sahara Sand 3 3/4 x 5
  • Stamp Gorgeous Grunge scatter print in Sahara San (no…really it is there)
  • Hexagon Punch – 2 Tangerine Tango, 1 Always Artichoke, 1 Sahara Sand, run through Woodgrain Embossing Folder and add to panel
  • Stamp Truly Grateful in Always Artichoke
  • Add panel to card front using dimensionals
  • Little Leaves sizzlits in Whisper White, add using dimensionals to finish it off.

SixSidedSamplerI think it is always fun to see cards that things are based on.  All the dimensions are the same as above but base is Sahara Sand, layer is Cajun Craze.  Hexagons are Cajun Craze, Tangerine Tango, Early Espresso, and Sahara Sand and I left these plain.  Finally I stamped my friend from from the Six Sided Sampler in Cajun Craze.  Everything else is the same!

Set(s): Truly Grateful, Gorgeous Grunge
Paper: Natural White, Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Tangerine Tango, Sahara Sand
Ink: Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand
Other: Hexagon Punch, Little Leaves Sizzlits, Woodgrain Embossing Folder Dimensionals

So…check out what the design team did with the challenge colors then come join the fun!

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

I did the poinsettia exactly the same way that I did it on this card, I just changed the rest of the card up.
