Monstermaniacs

CAS243GroupOh I absolutely ADORE this CUTE little set!  When I saw the CAS challenge this week is candy/costumes, I just couldn’t resist.  I really didn’t have the greeting I wanted (or the cute little treat bags for the top monster) so once again I used MDS.  What a handy tool!

As for details there are really just a few

  • Whisper White Base:  4 1/4 x 8 1/2 folded
  • I used MDS to print GOT CANDY? (and for the one on the top of the group the little trick or treat bags) cut into a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 panel.
  • Images were stamped using StazOn Jet Black.
  • Images colored with Perfect Plum, Pear Pizzazz, Pumpkin Pie.
  • I used the Circle piercing template to make the circles around each.
  • Panel added using dimensionals to finish

Here are some individual shots

Goodbye Sweet Friend

GypsyAs many of you know, two week ago we found out that my sweet Gypsy girl was very ill (although she NEVER acted like she was).  The vet found that she had an extremely large tumor in her liver and it seemed to be growing very quickly.  The vet told us it wouldn’t be very long.

Tonight (Saturday) around 8 pm Gypsy let us know that it was time.  Up until then you really couldn’t tell she was sick…a little slower but still bouncing when you said ‘puppy treat’ or ‘chicken noodle soup’.  It is a very sad day.  Bandit, as you know, adored his ‘big sis’ and he is beside himself right now.  Hopefully it will get easier for him.

So to all you wonderful people who have been sending your thoughts and hugs to Gypsy…she wanted to tell you that she will miss you all and thanks for coming by to see her all the time (oh and do stamp classes with her mom!).  And a very special big hug to ‘auntie Karen’…her very first aunt.

Does this look a little familiar?  Well…if you member my post on Monday, this is like my Tree/Snowman gift card holder but just the snowman.  I used the really FUN retrosketch layout from this week!  The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler.  I took another piece of Cherry Cobbler, ran it through the Northern Frost Embossing Folder and added to the card front.  Next was a print from the Season of Style dsp.  I inked the snowman with Smoky Slate, stamped off then stamped on a piece of Whisper White.  The eyes/mouth are stamped with Basic Black, nose is Pumpkin Pie, hat is Cherry Cobbler, scarf is Old Olive, arms is Early Espress.  I stamped Joy in Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White, cut out and added using dimensionals.  I added some tiny Cherry Cobbler/White Baker’s Twine bows to each side.  I added a piece of Old Olive to the bottom, a folder Old Olive banner to the top and a Basic Black Scallop Edge along the side.  I added a medium Cherry Cobbler button using the Cherry Cobbler/White baker’s twine then added this panel to the card front using dimensionals to finish it off.

CCMC273Oh…this is another of those that I just WISH you could see this in real life.  The foil paper is just sooooo shiny and I just couldn’t capture that in the photo!  I LOVE the sketch on Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge this week and just went to go with white and silver!

This is also the last couple of days for our Create with Connie and Mary Winter Collection 2013 Preview Week and the LAST 3 days of our Early Bird Special!  You want to take advantage of that TODAY!!!!

This is really a pretty easy card.  The base of the card is Whisper White.  I took a piece of the foil cut the circle out with a circle framelit, ran it through the Stylish Stripes Embossing folder, then added to the card front.  I stamped the greeting in versamark on Whisper White, silver embossed and added to the card front using dimensionals.  The snowflake is the two smallest, stamped in versamark, silver embossed, cut out with the framelit, layered with dimensionals and added to the card front using dimensionals.  Finally I added a Frosted Finishes Snowflake to the center.

WOOOO HOOOO!!!!  And it has begun…PREVIEW WEEK for Create with Connie and Mary Winter Collection 2013!  And let me say…it is beginning and to look a lot like Christmas!

Yesterday we announced our Guest Designers for this collection and we are so excited they will be joining us!  And today…I’m sharing the first Preview Week Project!  (oh…and some BLOG CANDY TOO!!!)

I LOVE designing and making gift card holders.  With giving more and more gift cards I want to package them up with a little something that I made.  I had decided that I was going to make a set a gift card holders for you all for Preview Week and started creating.  And then I just got stuck!  My deadline was looming and one partial one was just sitting their and going nowhere fast!  So what do you do when you are stuck on ideas?  Well for me it’s off to Pinterest and Google Images!  First came the stocking cap.  The front panel flips down and is tucked behind the HO3.  I just couldn’t resist making a Christmas Tree/Snowman combo to go with our Winter Collection logo!  Where’s the gift card?  Well lift up on the tree trunk and it is in a little holder behind it.  My husband’s favorite is Santa.  This is a new take on an old classic.  Pull up on his hat and the gift card is there.

Here’s some individual shots of the gift card holders…
